Bob was very nice since our first conversation on the phone. I went to visit his shop the day after and he showed me the wood he had in store for my photos. I did not end up using his service, but the price seem to be aligned with the competition. His turnaroud on the work is way better than what you cna find in the city of SF. I will be returning for future framning. Thanks Bob! read more

Wow! I just love the great work that Bob does here. I've had 7 framed pieces done here-I keep going back because the work/craftsmanship is impeccable. He can make a bookmark look priceless with the perfect framing. Dude! This is just two of the pieces Bob has done for me-my photography does it no justice. read more

Sausalito Picture Framing - Our painting framed by Bob - Framing Near Me - Sausalito, California

Bob is the best! He always takes such good care of all of my framing needs - big or small. He has great options for prices (lots of levels of frame choices). I have taken everything there to be worked on. This most recent piece was from Argentina and was a cool oil painting on a piece of canvas. Well, it wasn't completely perpendicular. Bob was able to even it out, mount it and then frame it-- all within my price range. It looks so beautiful now hanging up. He is fair, honest and a local to boot! His wife is also an artist like Bob. They know their stuff and have a great eye for what works and what doesn't. I wouldn't take my framing anywhere else. Plus, they have the cutest rescue dog! I know, not relevant, but still.... read more

Sausalito Picture Framing - This was just a piece of painted canvas that was mounted and framed - beautiful! - Framing Near Me - Sausalito, California

Bob, the owner, is an artisan, craftsman and gentleman. Super guy, amazing workshop/store. A rare find these days. Recommended.

Teri & Bob reset nine historical photographs that I had taken out of their frames for some historical research. Their work was professional and they were very pleasant to work with. I found their pricing reasonable and they turned the work around quickly. Technically adept w great customer service. I recommend them highly! read more

I purchased two deal certificates on Living Social - $40 for $100 worth of framing - based on Yelp reviews. My fiancé and I had been meaning to get our diplomas framed for some time, and I also had a 16"x20" family portrait that I wanted to get framed. Bob, the shop owner, was super accommodating and listened closely to our needs. But going into this...I had NO CLUE how much professional framing costs - it's very expensive! But the professionalism and the finished look are worth the splurge for special items, in my opinion. So, keeping cost in mind as our first priority, Bob was able to frame two diplomas each (four total) in high quality, mid-price range framing with UV glass (a must so that your framed item does not fade), as well as my family portrait in a basic black frame with UV glass, for a total of $350 out of pocket (so without subtracting our certificates, the grand total was $550). When you break this down, it's a little more than $100 per item, which isn't too bad - just more than I was expecting. Again - my own fault for not doing my homework ahead of time. Overall, the quality of Bob's work is impeccable, and our diplomas look wonderful! Bob is a very friendly and accommodating guy - he listened to our needs and helped us work to stay as close to our budget as possible. He even helped me carry everything out to my car and gave me specific instructions for transportation, as not to damage the frames. He's doing a great job at running his business, and if I require professional framing in the future, I would definitely consider going back to him. read more

This is a place that reminds me of the importance of 'mom & pop' shops and the pleasure one gets from visiting them. I'd only been in this shop perhaps 6 times before and hadn't been there since right before the pandemic, early 2020, yet Bob not only remembered me but remembered that I had something to pick up. This is a perfect little shop owned by perfectly lovely people! Oh, and they also do a great job for a fair price. read more

I use Sausalito Picture Framing for virtually all my framing and matting needs - photographs, original art and work I've collected traveling. Bob is incredibly skilled and always helps me make the right selection. If I travelled half way around the world for a woodcut or vintage photograph I don't want to skimp on the frame and presentation. You can choose from beautiful traditional wood frames or step out of your comfort zone and go with some amazing colors and/or finishes. read more

I am definitely going to be a return customer here. Sausalito Picture Framing framed my pieces in a really tight timeframe for an upcoming show. They look beautiful!!! His prices were great for the quality, he's super friendly, knowledge and even helped me put them in my car safe for travel. Whenever I have money to frame my work, this is where I'll be going. Bob was great, and quick turnaround! He cut mats twice for framing, once in 20 minutes, the next time in 40. Gave me foam board on both sides for safe carrying. Beautiful work - thank you. read more

We had a photo framed at a local shop in San Rafael, when we got the finished product it looked terrible, we got our money back and went straight to Sausalito Picture Framing. Teri and Bob worked with us to see if we could salvage the existing frame/glass, we left the frame/photo for Bob to take apart and see if he could fix the issues. We got a call back a day later with a summary of all the issues from the prior framer, needless to say we needed a new frame And a new photo, the photo had been damaged by the prior framer. I sent Teri the jpeg and she printed a new large photo for free!!! We picked out a new frame and it was finished a week later and it looks fantastic! The customer service is first class and the quality of the work is excellent, highly recommend Bob and Teri! read more

Wow, this gem of a family business on charming Caledonia St is our new go to for all of our photo printing and art framing needs. We recently brought back some decorative pieces from Australia (which we LOVE) and could tell straight away that Bob (owner) understood how we wanted them to be presented in our house. He even went above and beyond to come up to our place to mount the big pieces for us on the wall! We appreciated his professionalism from start to end and we were able to tailor all of the framing details to our desires (and he never made us feel like a pain for doing so). We will be repeat customers for years to come! Thanks guys!!! - Sarah and Chris read more

Wow! We had an iPhone photo and wanted it enlarged as a black and white with a frame that accented the subject matter without the frame detracting. Teri and Bob own and operate this gem of a store on Caledonia street in the non commercial area of Sausalito. Their artistic insights to take a rather standard photo and make it a standout wall centerpiece has to be experienced! We love it. It is gorgeous and everyone viewing it will say Wow! True craftsman workmanship is the standard! Without question Sausalito Picture Framing and Printing is a standout. 3/25/17 Robert Holmes is an award winning National Geographic photographer. He has traveled the world and captured the life and times of people and places. We were fortunate to purchase a number of his pieces. Many hang on our walls. We had three favorites that had been damaged in moves, warped placement boards, cracked frames and the like. Finally, we decided to have them repaired and there was only one expert frame shop we were confident would restore these large, and valuable (to us) works and that was the Sausalito Picture Framing and Printing shop in Sausalito. Bob and Teri, the owners, who had done an outstanding job previously, took the three photos, remounted and re-glassed the frames. We picked them up today ready for hanging. Beautiful, crafted work, brought back to the original, actually better glass than the original. Point is, trust this shop with your artistic creations to be cared for as if they are museum pieces. Outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail. We highly recommend the Sausalito Picture Framing and Printing Company. read more

Love, LOVE Sausalito Picture Framing. Best frame shop in Marin. High quality framing at reasonable prices. The owners are super professional, friendly, knowledgable, and go above and beyond to help get your vision across. They framed a family heirloom painting of mine and I couldn't be happier. The craftsmanship and beauty of their framing is simply breathtaking. I only wish I could give more stars- this place deserves it. read more

Ok, ok - I'll acknowledge that the amount of research I did before I even went to a frame shop was borderline OCD. But give me a break - I was handing over irreplaceable artwork. Would you entrust it to someone who didn't know what s/he was doing? I didn't think so. The first shop I went to, in the city, looked good online, but not in person. I sure lucked out with the 2nd - Sausalito Frame Shop. My two sisters are professional artists, so over the years, they've taught me what to look for. But I only knew enough to be dangerous and really needed advice from the shop owner. I needed someone with a strong aesthetic sense to make sure I got the right mat and frame to complement the artwork, but not overpower. The owner was exactly the right person. I was blown away when I picked up the finished product. It was perfect....amazing. Without hesitation, I'd go back. Not only is it the best frame shop in Marin, I think it might be the best in the Bay Area. read more

I highly recommend this place! We had many things to be framed for the house, from small inexpensive prints to large, irreplaceable original works of art, and Sausalito Picture Framing hooked us up. They have a huge selection of frame samples and got everything done quickly and perfectly. Bob, the owner is so knowledgeable and he anticipated all of my questions and helped me choose frames and mats that look fantastic. Bob then was able to deliver the art and help me install the large pieces. Really nice people, and great to support a small neighborhood business that does great work. read more

Husband and wife team. Took plenty of time with me to pick out a perfect frame. Thoughtful, patient, quality work.

My husband and I had some vintage postcards framed here for our bridesmaids/groomsmen gifts for our wedding. Not only did they do a great job, but they gave us a great price that was WAY less than any other framer I had talked to. The person we worked with was very knowledgeable about how to preserve the postcards and what style of frame would look best. I would definitely use this shop again. read more

Bob and his wife are true artists. Both of them worked on one of my projects -- a colour pencil sketch of one of my family members, drawn by another family member. The original was precious to us -- it was drawn in about 1943, and both relatives have passed away. The original was deteriorating, so needed to be photographed and saved as a high-res file. The result was extraordinarily good. Bob's eye for colour in selecting the double matting and frame was spot-on, and he even rushed the job through just before Christmas at no extra charge. I can't thank them enough for preserving our family history. read more

Bob and Teri are great people to work with. Not only can they expertly handle traditional framing but they helped us when one of our clients ordered 7 very large canvas prints of Rob's photographs, two were 81" wide. The results were beautiful. Bob also had the prints delivers and hung for our client and all seven prints can now be seen at the Irvine Foundation's San Francisco headquarters (30th floor). You can see a photo of the Irvine Foundation's reception room with Rob's giant California Poppy print (framed by Bob) on our home page at www.robbadger.com. We never hesitate to send our clients to them. Thanks, Nita Winter and Rob Badger Photography read more

CREATIVITY is their strength. I had the top of a quilt my grandmother had made many years ago, but had never gotten to finish. It was almost in rags by the time I got it. Bob and Teri suggested finding a good section about 16 x 16" and framing it. So we agreed. It is beautiful. By far my favorite piece from them. They are the best, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. Thanks, Bob and Teri read more

This is the coolest frame shop. Real nice owners, great selection, total gem! Beautiful, seamless, artistic work. Have gone to Bob and Teri for years and wouldn't go anywhere else, even though I'm not in their neighborhood anymore. I needed a new piece of glass for a photograph that I already had framed. Did a google search and found Sausalito Picture Framing on Yelp. I noticed all the 5 star ratings, so for a local place down the street, I figured I give it a try. I called in to see if I could get a quote on a piece of glass to be cut and was told it could range from $30-$40 plus labor and to recycle the glass. I thought the price was a bit high and the cost of labor was unrealistic. I'm sure anyone can install a piece of glass into a frame, if done carefully. Anyway, the person on the phone suggested I come in, bring the frame, so that he could cut the glass and I could take it with me and install myself to avoid the "Labor" charge. So I did and walked into this little shop. I stood there for at least 5 min waiting for him to finish up a customer he was helping. I felt I stood there a little too long, since he could have at least asked to see if there was a quick question I had or perhaps just see what I needed, between him going back and forth and helping the current customer with samples. I just think, it seems a little awkward to just stand there until he was completely done with the customer he had before I walked in. I decided to take the initiative and ask, "should I just come back?" and he finally took a quick break to say, "Yes, all you need is a piece of glass, right?". He obviously knew what I was there for and decided to take his sweet time to have me just stand there. Apparently, he didn't see $$$ to really want to help me. He told me to come back in 30-40 min and he would have the glass ready for me. He quoted me from some list he had and apparently for a piece of non-glare, 19 square inches of glass is about $40. I said "ok", and decided to take a walk. I noticed a place across the street that sold frames, so I poked in and asked for a piece of non-glare 19 square inch glass and this shop not only quoted me $20 but also said he had no problem installing if for me right away. As I ran back to see if I could pick up my frame, the glass was already cut. Oh well......I asked if he could sell me the piece of glass a little cheaper, since I found a place across the street that would not only sell me a piece of glass for half the price but also install it right away and he said well..."it's a pretty expensive piece of glass", so he sold it to me for $40 out the door and he also said he would install it for me for free in about an hour. "In an hour?", I said, "Let's be realistic here. How long does it really take to install a piece of glass in a frame where you can just pop off the back with these little movable metal fasteners?" He said, "Well, it 's just that I am really busy and I have a lot of shit to do". I decided to just give up, take a $20 loss and about 45min of my time to just pay for it, take the glass and do it myself. I will never go back. I blame myself that, I should have done more research but all I wanted was a piece of glass and didn't think I would be gouged for it as well has having to deal with some small shop worker or owner to feed me some bullshit about labor charges and how tedious and long it takes to install a piece of glass in a prefab, removable backing frame. Shame on me and Shame on Sausalito Picture Framing......I mean, come on...really? read more
