I went in because my starter was going out and I asked Saúl's Autotek to replace my starter with the one I purchased at Oreily's and they said no. Yet I still had them do the starter repair and paid $780. A month later my car leaves me stranded downtown, had to get it towed home 23 miles out. Called mechanic and found out the starter wasn't replaced. Saul's decided to replace alternator instead without my approval. Took the car back to them and now they want to charge me for the starter again. Then they told me to tow it over there and that they would pay for towing; they didn't pay my towing since I decided not to have the job done there since they were making me pay for the starter again. Wow. We were so excited to have a seemingly local non- dealer auto shop in walking distance to our house. Little did we know that within 3 hours, their technician would try to convince my husband that a 2006 Subaru outback worth about $6,000 should get $12,000 worth of work. They insisted that they rebuild the entire engine before addressing anything else we needed. Needless to say we paid their cost and high-tailed it out of there. The only shining moment was when the very kind front desk person decided to waive the $200 that no one else was going to wave for doing nothing but telling us our car needed $12,000 worth of repairs without proof. I went to Sauls, I took my 2012 Land Rover in for a inspection due to a criticle error light coming on in the suv. Saul told me I would need the timing chain to be replaced after looking at the car, which is a 8,000 - 9,000 repair. After taking my car to a differnt repair shop, I was told its a bad fuel injector on the car and spark plugs need to be replaced. Be very aware going to Saluls and always get a second and even third opinion after going to this place. So far no good! We had a diagnostic check done at Saul's before agreeing to the repairs. We dropped the car off on April 15th, I am writing this review on June 7th and the car is still not finished! They don't call to provide updates on the progress. Each time we have had to contact them and each time it's a different part is needed or the tech ordered the wrong part, or they discovered some new issue or now the Programmer is not available. Again a diagnostic test was done prior to the work being started. No loaner car was ever offered even though it is part of the message when you're put on hold. If I could rate less than one star I would. I wouldn't even go as far as to say this is a real auto establishment. Received a quote of $1,500 for a minor leak. When I went in to pick up my car after declining this ludicrous price, I was pressured by multiple employees at the front desk area to move forward and get my car repaired by them. I even had a woman go as far as to say that "my car could be at risk of exploding"...? When come to find out that literally was impossible considering the issue I came in for. How can someone lie about someone else's car potentially exploding and sleep at night? All for $1,500? I was terrified to drive my vehicle after hearing that before calling a real auto shop. Scraping for pennies at what cost "Saul's"? I RAN to my car as I wanted to get as far away from these lying scumbags as possible. no good value and bad quality. avoid this auto shop. so its been only eight months ago since i had my 2017 bmw x1 battery replaced by this place. battery now requires a replacement. not even one year. whatever battery they put in my car was not rated for this car. it was the wrong battery. and now i have to get this battery replaced. (they even charged me a diagnostic fee to diagnose the dead battery eight months ago). avoid this place as they used cheap small battery that now must be replaced. do yourself the favor. i hope people are actually reading this and respond by avoiding this place. read more

Service advisor girls didn't tell me anything about an inspection fee for checking a simple trans leak. When I finally had gotten them to drop that charge I had it repaired. The tech never cleaned up the oil leak residue. They added an additive that was not needed too. read more

Update in response to owners comment below: They did not refund me for the repair. They have adamantly refused to pay for the cost of returning my vehicle to the condition it was in before they worked on it. I took my Toyota Mr2 to Saul's because we were trying to button up a small fuel leak. Here is the absolute mess that has followed. Short version: The shop caused what is now thousands of dollars of damage to my car. Long version: I had the car tuned two days before I took it to Saul's. We were tinkering with fuel ratios to pass emissions and found a small leak at the fuel pump. I just wanted the leak fixed. The car ran and drove fine when I took it in. Saul's tech test drove the car six miles. My first impression of the shop was really good. Saul seemed really knowledgeable and friendly. I told him I was working to pass emissions and that there was a small leak over the gas tank I needed to have fixed. He told me it wasn't a big deal so I left the car with him for an estimate and away we go. I didn't hear anything for a week so I shot the shop a text. In response I get an estimate for the work along with a ridiculous quote to drop the engine for basically a complete engine rebuild. The estimate showed photos of the fuel pump assembly taken apart. I OKed the fuel leak repair and we moved on. Next act: I go to pick up the car round 1. The car won't start in their lot. Ok fine, I ask them for a jump, maybe they left a lights on. The tech comes out with a jump box and we notice fuel pooling rapidly below the car. Turns out a fuel line wasn't re-connected at all in the rebuild and we found a bracket meant to hold it in under the passenger seat. I leave the car for them to do it again. Round 2: I try to pick up the car. The car starts, but absolutely billows white smoke out the tailpipe. Clouds. It barely stays running. To remind you, it ran fine when I dropped it off. I ask for Saul. He comes out, looks at it, shrugs, says its weak, you need a new engine. and refuses to talk to me about anything else unless I approve them to start on the engine repair and another cost to rewire the engine with a stock computer. At this point I was pretty worried and didn't want them working on the car so I paid the bill to get my car back and limped it a quarter mile to a place I could store it to tow it to the tuner. Act 3: I spoke with Saul over the next few days and he would say anything to make me go away including: 1. Saul said the car never ran under power at his shop. 2. The engine had blown a head gasket at least. 3. The shop had made a custom bracket for the fuel system. Here is the truth: 1. Saul's tech test drove my car 6 miles before taking it apart. Tech says it drove fine on the test drive. 2. I have had the car towed to the tuner, engine is fine. Compression and leak-down tests show nothing wrong. No big repair needed. 3. The custom bracket Saul's made is the loose bracket that found under my passenger seat when I went in the first time. It's a stock bracket on these cars. 4. The reinstalled fuel pump assembly was not even close to done right and you don't need an expert to prove it. The real kickers: 1. Saul's guys hooked up a live fuel line to my intake manifold causing the smoke and the fuel pump was assembled in a way that left parts floating in the gas tank, and lines not hooked up at all. Stuff no one gets wrong by accident. 2. Sauls's guys physically damaged my ECU. The ECU is located just over the area they were working in causing what is now thousands of dollars in damage. Remember that it was tuned just before Saul worked on it. Afterwards it won't hold any tune at all. I am now going to be out thousands to get a new ECU and the time and money it has taken to get this car fixed from the damage Saul's did. The icing on the cake. Saul won't make it right and has been an absolute terror to deal with since I picked up the car. He has lied to me about what the shop did, the condition of my car, repairs the car needed, and who knows what else. He has also refused to refund me for the work his shop did. read more

Do not take a TESLA to Saul's for repairs. Other cars, I'm sure they are very good, but Tesla their not. I had 1 faulty sensor that needed replacement. They ordered it in, I dropped the car off being told "it should be a couple of days." 6 weeks and 3 or 4 sensors later they conceded they could not get the correct part and it would have to be fixed at a Tesla dealership. Picking it up, there are 8-10 new problems, warnings, bells going off; degraded steering, no self-driving, etc. Shocking! ZERO Stars if I could. Do NOT take your car to Saul's Autotek. This guy is such a scam. I took my car in because the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light was on, and the tire pressure was running low on one tire since the snow storm last week. I figured rather than taking my car to Discount Tire, I would support small business. They found "nothing" wrong with my tire but managed to charge me $41.23 for inflating my tires. The TPMS light was still on, but they said I just had to drive it around for it to turn off. While waiting 1.5 hours there to get my car worked on, I heard clearly (because Saul announces his brain so that the world can hear) that he is suing Big O Tires on how they never changed the oil for some lady's car even though she paid for 4 oil changes and his original oil filter was still on there (right, you are the only person who has this oil filter). Complete DEFAMATION of Big O Tires. He says how he is going to go on TV (Tom Martino?) to complain to the world about it. Then he says he is going to sue his commercial landlord for some $1.2 billion dollars, and use that money to buy some plots of land to live his business to. This guy is going 1,000 MPH. Then he declared how his landlords are the Hot Pocket guys who are now in jail and is managing through the commercial property managers Collier something. Those guys want him out, so he is going to sue them. The next morning, my tire was WORST than before I took it in. It was flat at zero PSI. I called his office multiple times to get a refund on the service that was never provided, and quite frankly, after they found nothing and sent me driving home on a low tire pressure with the light on, I don't trust this mechanic at all. What if my tire blew out on the highway and caused wreck or injured myself or someone else? I asked for a refund of the $41.23, and the gal that works there says she has no power ( plus lots of other excuses on how he was in a meeting, etc). When I was there the day before, he was sitting right next to here and playing front desk manager the whole time. They promised to return my call right away, but never did. I can't tell you enough how awesome these guys are. After going to two other places that had my car for 7 and 5 hours each, with no result, Saul's took my car immediately and within one hour figured out what the problem was,solved it and I got my car home in less than 2 hours. They accommodate you like an ER- you just go in and they take care of you. Samantha, on the phone, was so helpful and nice to deal with, explaining everything I needed to know. She was also lovely in person when I dropped the car off. Brenton was the technician who solved my issue within the hour when the two other places couldn't figure it out or didn't bother to even look at the area after hours in the shop. The solution was so quick, they didn't even charge me. And I got a complimentary Uber ride back to pick up the car. Saul, the founder certainly knows how to run an operation that is efficient and customer focused. I've never had such a pleasant experience at an auto repair place. They care about your car and they care about your time without transportation. I will tell all my friends about the wonderful experience I had there and Saul's has me as a-customer for life!! We had 3 pre-purchase inspections done here at a cost of over $450. We were very happy with the first two. This last one was a disappointment. This car was my daughters and was "totaled" by the insurance company for minor (albeit extensive) hail damage. We were in the position where we could buy it from her for the difference between what the insurance company was going to give her to surrender the vehicle and the "owner retain" value. We needed cheap reliable transportation and figured this would fit our needs. We knew that something was going on with the rear brakes. We were quoted over $2600 to replace the hubs, drums and pads on a Honda Fit with about 51k miles. I called Schomp Honda and was assurred that they have never seen a Fit need new rear hubs and that it was highly unlikely that it needed new shoes at that mileage. So I took it apart myself to try to figure out why the brake was locking up. The hubs, drums and shoes were all were smooth, clean and in good shape. It turned out the problem was the passenger side parking brake cable. The rubber housing had cracked, the metal inside had rusted and it had seized up in the "on" position. It's pretty clear that the tech who did the pre-purchase didn't even remove the drum to inspect the brakes. Had I used the information AutoTek provided and surrendered the vehicle to the insurance company, I would have missed out on a good reliable vehicle all over a parking brake cable. Had the tech actually inspected the brakes properly, Saul's would have replaced the cable for a fraction of their erroneous estimate I would have been happy. As it is, I feel like corners were cut. When presented with this information, the company chose to ignore me and not reply. I have had good experiences here in the past but this was not one of them. read more

Oh man - I'm trying my best to think of some positive things to say about this place. When my vehicle happened to die in the middle of a busy intersection, we immediately went online to find a place that could evaluate & repair our car. They were it. We had our car towed to them that day. It took a couple of days for them to take a look at, which was fine. When they finally did, they came back and gave us an estimate of roughly $2100 and a week or so in the shop. They did not say anything at the time that would lead us to believe that after taking care of that issue we would need to invest an additional $1500 to "maybe" get the car to work. We have looked at paperwork and no where does it say additional work may need to take place. Of course had we known that it was going to cost atleast $3600 to maybe get the car up and running, we would have made a different decision about repairing the vehicle at all. When we went in to the shop to speak with Saul (who had told my husband to come in and ask for him), we were greeted by a kid that made me feel like I was interrupting not only his conversation with a co-worker, but that I was interrupting his day. He made no effort to contact Saul and almost enjoyed telling us that we would need to put more money into the car if we wanted it to run... oh and "good luck" because there's no guarantee that the repair would work. His arrogance and lack of knowledge about cars was a real disappointment. When I say lack of knowledge, he was trying to tell me one of my cars I drive uses a different engine despite that the make and model of my car was manufactured by a completely different company. Doing my due diligence I did my research only to find that this kid was wrong. His smugness is one of the reasons I'm leaving this review. Throwing thousands of dollars into a used car is a big decision, not to be taken lightly. Perhaps being in the business makes one jadded, complacent and detached from that decision but having some sort of empathy could really be helpful for the customer. His lack of knowledge only makes me leary that he truly knows anything. Hey, if you can find a different place that's reputable, but may charge a little more - I would go there. I took my Vanderhall to Saul's. I ended up having to stop them from doing service to have a dealership work on it to have it covered under warranty, but they were willing to try. It is an autocycle and I have trouble finding anyone willing to work on it since it is a specialty vehicle. They were very professional and courteous. Brian at the counter did a fantastic job. If I could give 0 stars I would. Females, please avoid this place. I went in Saturday because my splash guard was messed up. They were unable to get the part due to it being on back order so instead they told me brakes were leaking and the calibers needed to be replaced and I was given a quote of about $900. I thought this was weird because my brakes were checked 2 weeks prior and were fine so I asked to have my car back so I could get other quotes and double check. The guy made some rude remarks and got me my car. I went to two others places today, both of which informed me that my calipers and brakes in general were fine and that likely they were trying to take advantage of a female. So ladies, take this as your warning to avoid this place!! Edit: I am tech illiterate and cannot reply to the owners comment. They might have confused me with someone else as I was never informed about a line needing to replaced and given that I was only there for maybe 5-10 minutes it's doubtful someone was able to go get a new one AND replace it. I especially don't understand why the owners Yelp component is the first time I heard about them allegedly replacing the rubber line. Regardless, I do appreciate the owner reaching out and believe his intentions are good and customer safety is for sure a priority, I just personally will never return and never recommend due to the individual I worked with Saturday. read more

So I never updated the conclusion of this story! I ended up having to have my boyfriend go In person with cashier checks in hand asking them to settle. They essentially committed highway Robbery. They refused to hand over the documents to insurance in order to properly supplement this claim! They charged me over 7k more than insurance did on parts they significantly marked up higher than what they should have been! To top it off in the whole process of this, they blocked my number so I could not even contact them via phone to get my vehicle! Sauls auto is a crook shop and if you are doing anything insurance related, do yourself a favor and look for an in network repair shop. Lesson learned! read more

I recently found Saul's Autotek via Yelp. My car was no longer going over 60mph on my way to work (even when flooring it). I called and they took me right in. They have a shuttle service and were able to bring me back to work (for free and VERY FAST). They ran the FREE diagnostic and called me with what was wrong. They gave me the quote and mentioned that Mitsubishi has a service bulletin out for this exact issue. They said to call them because they should fix it for free because of the bulletin. I called, Mitsubishi said it was not free because it was not a 'recall' (even though its their fault for the issue). They gave me a price of $130. I hung up with Mitsu and told Josh the price and Josh was able to find me the part for $90. So i decided to stay with Saul's. I could not drive the car with the issue it had. So they were going to order the part for me. However, I needed to get home, 30 miles north. They told me they have a deal with Enterprise for a rental at their cost. So i was able to get a rental at a discounted price and they came and picked me up. The car was supposed to be completed by the next afternoon, so i returned the rental and was dropped off. I was in the waiting room for maybe 2 hours and they realized the wrong part was sent. However, this was 5pm on a Friday. NOT GREAT. Stuck 30 miles south of my house. They felt really bad. This is not something you come across EVER with Auto shops. Ive been treated sooo poorly by auto shops in the past that i was expecting a 'too bad' response. Well, they actually took care of my Lyft home. This was rush hour on I-25 not great. So i took them up on this offer. Josh was going to locate the part again and make sure they had it but because of the weekend and Mitsubishi doesnt work on the weekend it was Monday. I was now stuck in Westminster and needed to get to work. Dave took care of me and made sure i was picked up. This meant someone from their shop was driving from DTC up to Westminster! Now that is extreme customer service!! I have never found a better auto shop than Saul's. Their prices are super amazing and their staff is even better. Memorial Day weekend, broke down near Denver. Rear brake seized up. Called numerous shops, nothing was open till the following Tues, except Saul's Autotek. Explained my situation, and was told to have it towed over and they would asses it. The same afternoon they identified the issue, and the parts required. Verbal cost estimate was thought to be under $1,000. Due to the holiday weekend parts and detailed cost weren't available till Tuesday, the estimate was $3,500. When I picked the vehicle up, late model Mercedes E53 AMG, the cost was $2,800.00. Saul's provided a very detailed work order complete with photos of before and after the repair and damaged brake caliper. Very satisfied, and highly recommend Saul's Autotek. My vehicle has seals on a turbo Diesel that need replacing, brought it to Saul's on a Saturday out of desperation and ended up with a diagnostic charge for $192 and they claimed my vehicle needed $20K in work including a new motor. I had a hard time finding a shop in Denver willing to even LOOK at my '84 Alfa Romeo. While calling shops, the moment the words "Alfa Romeo" came out of my mouth, my name might as well have been Lucifer because I was turned away that quickly. Saul's shop is not someone trying to be brave working on old Italian cars. Their staff is actually KNOWLEDGEABLE about working on more exotic machines. If you're the sort of person that does their research and can DIY a lot of projects but lacks the time or equipment to tackle jobs, the people at Saul's will actually have a conversation with you instead of someone behind the counter talking you down dismissing any information coming out of your mouth. I have worked in retail/cust service before and Saul goes above and beyond expectations in terms of how he treats customers. You will be informed of what is wrong with your vehicle and the associated costs. I was expecting a $3k+ bill and it came out to a about 2/3 of that once they found out my engine was fine, and that my fuel system was the culprit for the overheating issues. I'm not gonna claim his shop is the cheapest, but the integrity and work ethic I have witnessed from the team at Saul's is worth the premium. read more

Incorrect blow head gasket diagnosis and crazy $3,400 repair estimate. Came in with a coolant leak. Told the shop that the leak was coming from the very front of the engine bay. Also told them I had checked under the car and saw it dripping from the corner of the radiator and therefore thought the radiator would need to be replaced but since I am not a mechanic I asked them to check out the entire system. They came back and told me that I had a blown head gasket and wanted $3,400 for the repair. I asked them about the radiator and they said the tech did not find anything wrong with it but they would double check. Sure enough I got a call back the next morning and yes in fact my radiator had failed. Given that my car has never overheated and the incompetence of missing the leaking radiator (even after I already told them about it) I did not trust the blow head gasket diagnosis. I had the car checked at another shop and enough it was just the radiator. No blown head gasket. Do not trust this shop! They are either incompetent or immoral. Those are the only two explanations for such a bad diagnosis and neither is favorable. read more

Thanks to social media (on the positive side), I needed to take my 2008 Acura RDX into a reliable honest mechanic as my existing trusted mechanic has retired. I went online to see who would be convenient and read through reviews before making my decision. After reading reviews on Nextdoor, 2 friends of mine both wrote great reviews for this business. I called to make an appointment and was told come in "anytime"! Wow! A mechanic that can take a customer anytime? Much to my surprise, I was totally impressed with their team getting my car in quickly, diagnosed and given the full picture of what future expenses I could expect, with absolutely no pressure to do a thing. I spoke to Saul personally and was overwhelmed with the non pressure, honest, consultitive response, and after discussing with my spouse made the decision to cut our ties with our car. I told Saul I would follow up either way, and here is my personal thank you and appreciation for how he runs his shop with honesty and transparency. Walked into this place to get an estimate on damage to my car. First, I was ignored by the multiple women in the front of the shop. When someone finally spoke to me and I inquired about an estimate, the gentleman waved his hand at the few packages of paperwork in front of me and told me to make an appointment.
