A pizza place in a Conoco gas station... how good could it possibly be? The sign is reminiscent of Pizza Planet from Toy Story. We joked about giving it a try just because it's a pizza place in a gas station and we like to support local businesses; especially ones that are crazy enough to open during a pandemic... and crazy enough to open in a "pizza parlor on every corner" town like Brick. We definitely decided to give it a try after a friend tried it and raved about how good it was. So, thin crust pizza for cheap, made fresh in a gas station with a pizza oven anyone can buy for their kitchen.... yes, please! It's pretty freakin' good (and I'm a pizza snob)! We ordered The Moon... mozz, goat cheese, fancy mushrooms, and sausage with a balsamic reduction drizzle. It was $12.00 and all the ingredients are super fresh. Along with that we ordered their Earthling, which is just a cheese pie. It was $5.00. The red sauce isn't your typical thin red sauce- it's very hearty and very fresh. Both pies baked until they were melty and crisp but, by the time we got home (we live on the opposite side of town) the bottom of the pie wasn't crisp. It wasn't soggy but it was missing the crunch that it probably had when it went in the box. No biggie, we threw it in the oven on our pizza stone to crisp it back up. Kelly our pizza chef was super personable and answered all of our questions. The one thing I did notice, and it wasn't a big deal for us, but the crusts are pre-made; but I'm not sure how you'd make a fresh crust in a gas station. We have passed this spot for the last couple years... the gas station location always threw me. But my kids always ask to try it. We finally did! It is a great, crispy little bar pie. Place is a little hidden gem, stopped here after passing it plenty of times on the way to Costco and was very happily surprised and impressed. This is a hidden gem! Do not be fooled by the fact that it is in a gas station. This is a gourmet pizza kitchen! We ordered 3 pies, one of which, was a tricky order.
