    Nasi lemak ($23.00)

Tried out Satu Lagi, the only Indonesian restaurant in town, for brunch. They have a spacious outdoor terrasse. Mains are $18.00 to $26.00. - Matcha latte ($6.00) - Kaya toast and onsen egg ($10.00) - unauthentic according to my Singaporean friend - Rendang eggs benedict ($26.00) - rendang was okay. Side salad wasn't satisfying - Nasi lemak ($23.00) - tiny portion - Pulau pain perdu ($22.00) - standard fare

I was skeptical about turning rendang--a traditional Indonesian dish--into a breakfast dish, but they did it amazingly. Every ingredient was so thoughtful. This truly hit the spot and I'd come back for it. The meat was so tender and the flavor was authentic. The pandan Creme Brulee was to die for. My husband had the fried chicken which he enjoyed. Service was great and the bar is decorated with traditional Indonesian masks. Well lit during the day, not sure about night time. It is a very nice space.

Sambal sampler, fried mushrooms, and chicken satay

Lovely space, nice outdoor patio, friendly service, among the best Indonesian food I've had. Here's what I tried: *Excellent sambal taster (one with shallots and lemongrass, a green one, a red one with sambal chunks, and a fermented shrimp red one)--we couldn't stop raving or debating which of the amazing sambals was best! *Excellent fresh and spicy water spinach with fermented shrimp --this is one of my favorite vegetables and this may be among my favorite preparations. So bright and zingy and fresh. *Perfectly crispy fried mushrooms with pickled enoki *Solid sweet tamari chicken satay with peanut sauce *Solid stewed coconut beef rendang *Solid fried banana with chocolate, and only mildly funky durian mousse

They have a few vegan options and dishes that can be made vegan (Tempeh satay, Jamur Jamur, Kailan Bakar, Gudeg Nangka, Sayur Santan). The Jackfruit curry was delicious! The portions are reasonable for the price. I was so full, I couldn't have dessert. :P The flavours were memorable, and I would come again.

A tasty broth with vegetables and tofu soaked into the soup. Very flavourful! There should be more hooks for hanging. My coat felt on the floor when I placed it on the stool.

Here they serve stand-out dishes from Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia! Food: I got to try the beef rendang and the beef krapow - both are must-haves. If you are concerned about eating too much beef, this is the one time where it is okay! There are vegetables and fragrant rice to balance it out. The depth of flavour and boldness of their special spice blend transports you to another part of the world. I personally did not find the dishes spicy-hot and was happy with that spice level. I only tasted two other beef rendangs in my life but this is so far my #1. Service/atmosphere: There is limited seating so take-out is encouraged. I luckily got to dine-in and enjoyed seeing all the action in the open kitchen. I remember watching the oil splatter out of the wok when the fried runny egg was cooking - that takes risk. Price: The amount of work that goes into their focused menu is worth the price =)
