I drive an hour to go see Jerry, and why? Because he's that good…read more It's a pretty simple fact that the sporting edition big box stores are looking for one thing - Money. Spend an afternoon with Jerry and Rick and it becomes obvious that they're in it for the love of the sport. I was given a bow by a co-worker, it was old and needed a lot of help. The big box store near where i live told me that it was a waste and i should just buy one of their expensive bows and be done with it. Jerry, on the other hand, i walked in with my decades old bow and within 30 minutes he had turned it back into a viscous target hunter. After a while i bought a brand new Hoyt Charger from Jerry and more or less have since retired my old bow. The difference is that i would much rather support a guy that was willing to work with what i had first, rather than the big stores that tried to milk my wallet the moment i walked through the door. Now just to add a bit about the shop environment. I would go here even if i wasn't a hunter. Walking in is like going to hang out with a bunch of old friends. Everyone is telling their stories, laughing, and joking. You've got guys walking in with giant fish that they just pulled, all so they can show off their catch. It's a great place to be. Bottom line - Jerry's is a store, but its also an experience you wont forget. Check it out!

My friends and I are a couple of 20 something year olds and we had a great time together shooting each other with arrows in the growing sport of "arrow dodgeball". Not only was this experience an hour and a half of fun filled brawling among friends, but it was also an educational experience of a less common game that gives a serious cardiovascular workout by the end of it. We even got an opportunity to mess around with a couple of their vast collection of nerf blasters, of which, there were dozens of different sizes, speeds, nerf bullet variants etc. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone looking to get out of the house and try something new, have a child's birthday party that would be impossible to forget or just need an excuse to pick up some bows or nerf guns and just unwind and feel like a kid again! *Side note, the guys that run Puddletown are actually in charge of many of the bar trivia events in CT. Bar Rated Trivia is something I've been doing for a couple years now, but like trivia, I expect puddletown to grow at an increasing rate among younger people and older people alike.*

The owner got on the phone with me, and helped me find the right way to sell it, and maximize my sale. He flat out told me he would have to give me a really low amount, etc, you know, business talk. My point is, this guy helped me, and he didn't need too. He could have given me $100, he could have made a hell of a profit off my crossbow, and all the stuff I had to go with it. But he didn't. He was more concerned about what was best for me, and took the time out of his day to prove that. A quality a lot of business owners don't have. I highly recommend this place, and when I am looking to buy something in the future, this is where I will go! Love, peace, and chicken grease!
