What a treasure! This is by far our favorite playground. It was thoughtfully and lovingly designed so that children of all abilities can play together. This playground seriously has it all.
The entire play area is paved with a soft/bouncy rubber surface, and in the middle sits a huge playscape with built-in fun at every turn...tons of slides, poles, things that make music, things to climb, things to look through, things to talk into, and a shaded understory with yet more activities; there's even a large clock designed for learning braille numbers! The perimeter is lined with benches and there is more equipment scattered around...swings that range from baby to standard to handi-safe plastic pull-down harness-type that remind me of the seats on a modern roller coaster, and there's also a large saucer that several can swing on at once. The see-saws are equipped with CHAIRS and handles instead of the standard flat boards, the merry-go-ground is a solid molded plastic structure that the kids sit safely inside, and there is a really neat group gliding ride that looks kind of like a boat -- it has bench seating, a central table and safety handles. So cool!
We have been several times and even when the playground is packed, there is enough to do that everyone gets a turn at things. Also, all of the kids and caretakers we've interacted with have been super friendly and inclusive -- I saw a group of 8-9 y.o. boys invite a shy boy who was there by himself to join them on the see-saw thing, and those same kids saw my toddler watching them in fascination and offered to slow down and keep it gentle if he wanted to get on...other kids offered to give strangers a turn on a swing, or stop the merry-go-round when they saw other kids hovering and looking like they might want to join. It's just an all-around happy place...good vibes.
There is a large paved parking lot, grassy room to roam, and a trash barrel located at the entrance. I'll upload some pics :) read more
