Mixed Nigiri
Chris S.

Very solid sushi experience with amazing service and fresh fish. I eat sushi everywhere and Satoshi is better than most. Had a large group here and the staff could not be more friendly and efficient. The chef's are fast and food comes out quickly. Nice variety of fish beyond the typical standards and good pricing. All of the whitefish were outstanding. You will not be disappointed.

Satoshi sushi is the best lowkey sushi spot ever and I am willing to die on this hill. You can tell the chefs LOVE their job.

Tracee H.

When it comes to sushi, I'm very picky and prefer all you can eat, but in this case it looked really good on Instagram, so I had to try it out. What did you order? I was okay with ordering 2-3 rolls. I got Hell Yeah, Triple Tuna, and forgot the third one was called but they were all so good! Food came out super fast. It was a Sunday too. Plenty of parking! The place is small and cute :) I'm excited to comeback next time to try more sushi For drinks they have beer, hot & cold sake. Food was 10/10 for me :)!

Scallop (Hotate)
Brigitte M.

Favorite Non-AYCE Sushi Spot. Sat at the sushi bar tonight, where the chefs behind the bar were real welcoming. First time this place has ever been crowded, which is well deserved on their side. Ordered the Hotate scallop nigiri, spicy garlic edamame, shishito peppers, yummy tummy roll, and fountain valley roll. All so fresh and so good. Quality fish and rolls, with welcoming vibes, so really can't go wrong here.

Caterpillar roll

Ordered delivery and the food came quickly and was packed well - they double wrapped the miso soup to prevent spills. The miso soup was tasty and they didn't skimp on the tofu and wakame. I liked the flavor of the caterpillar roll, but it was a little too saucy on the bottom so the rice was a bit soggier than I prefer. I would be down to try more of their menu.

Salmon Sashimi

We came around 1 pm on a Tuesday and were immediately sat. The shop is relatively small and quaint, but has a very nice Japanese atmosphere that feels authentic. We ordered the Spicy Garlic Edamame, Salmon Sashimi, Salmon Avocado Roll, and the Dragon Roll. All these items came out very fast (only a couple minutes after ordering.) Spicy Garlic Edamame (3/5): Not bad, but not as good as other places I've had. The flavor could be more garlicky and savory but the edamame was cooked well. I like that it came with bonito flakes and the portion was very plentiful I would say. Salmon Avocado Roll (5/5): Very good! The fish was buttery and not fishy at all. Rice to fish ratio was well portioned and rice was cooked well (not gummy, still has a firm texture yet soft, and well seasoned). Also this basic roll was only $9 which I found to be very affordable. Classic but still delicious. Salmon Sashimi (5/5): Yall, this salmon sashimi was insanely good. While it was cut very thick (way thicker than I've seen in other sushi places, like almost 2 inches thick), the salmon was so buttery, soft, and melt in your mouth. Not fishy at all. I'm not someone that typically goes for sashimi, I prefer nigiri, but this was sooo good. Must try! It doesn't come with a sauce or anything, but the texture and quality is enough to be the star of the show. I didn't try the dragon roll but my friend said the eel was delicious. We were very satisfied with our meal here and the service was fast and friendly. Our 4 items came out to be around $50 which is not bad. We definitely would come back here again!

Satoshi Special Roll Triple Tuna Roll

We've been coming to this sushi spot for a while now, and it's always buzzing. The sushi bar is small but constantly packed, with a steady flow of dine-in guests and DoorDash pickups--clear proof of how popular it is. Despite how busy they are, the quality never disappoints. Two of our favorite rolls are the Satoshi Special Roll and the Triple Tuna Roll, both consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. They also offer a large roll menu not shown here, with plenty of options to choose from. This is one sushi bar that's not going anywhere--portions are generous, and we always leave feeling completely full, not hungry an hour later. The staff truly makes the experience special. The servers are attentive and incredibly helpful, the sushi chefs are kind, and everyone is welcoming and inviting from the moment you walk in.

Dry chicken with no flavor.

Ordered four chicken teriyaki bowls. They were so dry no one ate them! $50 straight into the trash. Teriyaki sauce was the consistency of water. My suggestion to you is don't go!

Mixed Tempura (3 Shrimps 4 Veggies) Chirashi Bowl

Satoshi Sushi is a small Japanese restaurant in Fountain Valley. This spot sits in a very quiet plaza, and I did not have many expectations walking in. However, the service was friendly and quick, and the interior was very small, but felt homey. The food itself actually ended up being very good! I really liked the tempura as it was very crispy and flavorful. The Chirashi Bowl was actually pretty solid as well, although I wish they gave more fish. Overall, Satoshi Sushi is a very solid Japanese restaurant in Fountain Valley. Definitely come and try it out!

Chirashi Bowl -- not recommended!
Daisy D.

Oh man..I really wanted to like this place since the staff were all very friendly, but I can't in good conscience recommend the fish here. Our favorite sushi spot to get chirashi in the area was unexpectedly closed, so my husband and I decided to try this place for dinner after seeing how many great reviews it had. We ordered the fried calamari, 8 nigiri, and 1 chirashi bowl. The calamari was honestly depressing to look at. I was expecting chopped pieces of whole calamari fried in a light and crispy batter with some salt and lemon. But instead I got bland doughy overcooked squid rings sprinkled with raw green onion and spicy mayo. It was really giving pre-made and pre-frozen. My husband didn't like his nigiri at all. The ootoro was the biggest disappointment especially because it cost $25 for two pieces. As for my chirashi bowl, I was barely able to stomach it. The albacore was probably the worst of the toppings. If you look at the picture below you can see how mushy it was just by all the loose fibers hanging from where it was cut. The "sweet shrimp" was just an overcooked shrimp. The rice overall was a little overcooked but not terrible. For all of the food we ordered, our bill came out to be $98. I almost shed a tear knowing we could've had an amazing sushi dinner with excellent quality seafood for the same price at our other favorite spots nearby. To summarize, if you're looking for authentic sushi I would steer clear of this place. If you like the specialty rolls, then it's probably fine since all the sauce/toppings masks the quality of the fish.

Karen L.

I came alone for dinner and was sat immediately at the bar. Staff were quick and attentive as there were at least 3 servers running the place. Small tables inside, plenty of bar seating and outside seating facing the parking lot as well. I ordered the crazy salmon roll and asked for the salmon on top to not be seared. The roll was delicious and very flavorful with the different sauces it came with. Fish was fresh as well, that must be why the nigiri is quite expensive. When I asked for the check the chef in-front of me handed me a pack of chocolate pocky. The chef was very kind and checked up on me while I was eating! I paid with cash and my change should've included 57 cents in coins, but I only received the bills back. I was going to leave the coins as part of the tip anyway so I didn't say anything but I was confused because the server didn't mention anything to me... not sure if they were out of coins but it would've been nice to know that instead of not getting it back at all.

Sasivimol T.

An absolute masterpiece of a meal! This was hands-down the best sushi experience I've ever had. Every piece of nigiri was a work of art, and the fish was incredibly fresh--it literally melted in my mouth. You can really tell the chef takes immense pride in their craft. The Otoro and Uni were standouts. If you're looking for authentic, top-tier Japanese cuisine, this is the place to be. Truly a 5-star experience from start to finish!

The presentation of both bowls was beautiful and very aesthetically pleasing, but unfortunately, we felt the quality of the fish was below average. We also shared three hand rolls: negi toro, shrimp tempura, and blue crab. I liked that they included cucumber and avocado in the rolls, but the seaweed was soggy and overly chewy. As for the Okhotsk Don, the scallop-to-fish ratio felt off. It came with only one scallop, while the rest of the bowl was mostly filled with random pieces of fish and topped with an overwhelming amount of roe. The service was good overall, but we left a bit confused by all the glowing reviews regarding the food.

Parking: Super easy lot parking right outside restaurant in a large shared plaza Service: Incredible - everyone greeted us when we came in, we were seated immediately, they were very on top of my water refills, plates were efficiently cleared after each course, they explained each course well, and there were no long gaps between courses. They even provided a candle on my mom's dessert for Mother's Day. I also appreciated them checking on our wasabi preferences in the beginning before our meal, as I usually forget until it's too late. Each detail made a big difference on our enjoyment of the meal. Really pleasantly surprised by how impressively smooth and well-run the service was. Food: Yellowtail carpaccio - ponzu sauce had some olive oil that went so well with the yellowtail Octopus cucumber appetizer - delicately sliced and was a refreshing bite with yuzu sauce Unagi chawanmushi - so well cooked with a depth of flavor incorporated into the perfect texture and unagi added another layer of flavor and texture that balanced it out Nigiri - grouper was tender, ocean trout had amazing flavor, amberjack more firm, striped jack also firm, seared halibut fin was my favorite with flavor and tenderness, and albacore with garlic oil was melt in mouth buttery Chirashi - made with the the same fish as the nigiri, the marinated ikura was especially delicious Dashi broth - great palate cleanser that was light but still seasoned well Housemade matcha ice cream with honey castella cake (so good) and a strawberry slice was a great way to end the meal. Have we tried other places? Of course - and always regretted doing so lol - now it's just Eat's Sushi every time! I attached 3 photos from this particular visit on Friday night, 5.22.26, and wrote a short blurb for each photo to explain why Eat's is hands down, the best place and usually the place of choice we go to at least 3x a month! They are always busy and that never bothers us because everyone else knows this is the place to go for fresh fish, amazing service, and friendly staff! We have figured out how to join their wait list without waiting their usual 30-60+ min wait. Even if we have to wait, we will. It's worth it every time! On this particular visit, Leo sat us down and Evelyn was our server. All of them are wonderful and these two elevated our visit yet once again! It is the main reason I wanted to post this because they deserve accolades. Leo already had our usual "hot water" order waiting for us at the table and Evelyn is always patient with us when we place several small orders because we like to keep the fish fresh. It's called "tsuika de onegaishimasu" if you care to know haha . The owner was also there that evening, and we witnessed him supporting his team quietly and gratefully by helping collect empty dishes off occupied tables to take them to the kitchen himself. His humble leadership explains why Eat's is on point with their customer service ! Price is extremely reasonable, quality is exceptional, and for us, we love the cozy ambiance! See you next week, Eat's Sushi!
