Shaky, poorly built wooden floors that creak and shift the entire set-up as people walk in and out. We all did their 3 course prix fix, which is one hell of a deal. You get an appetizer, entree, and a choice from side or dessert, all for $22. I got Chicken Samosa, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan (+$2). All were super flavorful and delicious. You will not leave hungry and may end up taking leftover with you. If you pay with a credit card, make sure to double check that they give you your card back. I ended up making a trip back to the restaurant later in the day as I didn't realize that they didn't give me my card back. Excellent portion size. You won't leave hungry. 2. The vindaloo is SPICY SPICY. I have a high spice tolerance and even I was feeling it a little bit. 3. There is a small amount of seating inside but most people come in for take out or order delivery, and the quality of it absolutely holds up. 4. Wow ! Great deal here for all day prix fix . It's $21.95 for appetizer and an entree with rice and naan . Great place. Dessert was extra and they also give you some papadum to start . They have wine by the glass and also Indian beer now . We started with a tasty homemade samosa with potato and pea and spicy chutney. And some onion pakora. Delicious ! My main was Saag Paneer but next time I would get the vegetable korma or a shrimp dish My friend liked his lamb korma a lot. The naan was really big ! Fresh and tasty that was almost my favorite part of the dinner. Also I'd recommend the Pinot noir as being better than the rose wine by the glass . For dessert we had gulab jamon and it was hot ! I craved for indian food at times. As I was browsing for restaurant near me I found this restaurant in Gramercy area. Small but with good reviews. They have outdoor dining but since it's very small space for people passing by I decided to just keep buying for TO Go. I usually order close to $90 every order. My favorite dishes Lamb Curry (Medium spicy), Vegetable Biryani, Rice pudding (Kheer), Roti and Naan, Vegetable Samosas . But my last To Go order was not as impressive as before. Kheer was spoiled and strong sour smell. I was very disappointed because Sathi Staff should have catch this before packing it. It is crucial for my health and can make me sick. It was a good thing I noticed the discoloration as soon as I opened the container. I suggest to the Sathi Staff to check the quality and freshness of their food before packing because we relied on you when it is Pick Up orders. I already make a draft of this review but I was not able to finish, thankfully, but now I deleted that draft and started the real review. I was gonna give them 4 Stars at that time but since they serve spolied food I can definitely justify my experience of giving them 1 Stars for Food Safety and my health safety. Because of poor/unsafe food handling and health safety, I personally do not recommend this restaurant. A shame making this my first 2024 review and I very rarely rate a place 1 star, but had an awful experience ordering chicken tikka masala delivery from Sathi. Not only was the sauce's taste off putting (bland and overly acidic) but the chicken was very dry and chewy. One of my favorite Indian food restaurants in New York! I always do the prix fix here and when I'm ready to leave I am left full/stuffed and I always have extra left overs to take back home. My tolerance for spicy food is high and I enjoy their vegetable vindaloo a lot! It's spicy that it stays in your mouth and gives you that warm feelings in your ears but I love that you are able to taste other flavors of the vindaloo without the spice overpowering the dish. This place has a phenomenal deal for really good food. The dinner special is around $22 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert. My fiancé and I both got that deal, but honestly we probably could've done 1 of those and another single entree order and have been satisfied. We had so much leftover food. Had dinner here 2 nights ago and was extremely happy. We ordered from the Pre Fix menu, starting with a large bowl of Lentil soup, and for main course I had the Lamb Curry, and my wife had the Chana Masala. That's a steal! No way would you be able to eat that many dishes for that price in NYC. The restaurant offered us outdoor seating or indoor seating. I chose to eat indoors as no on was in the restaurant. The staff checks your temperature and you have to provide your contact information if they were to call you about any issues regarding the spread of Covid. The staff wore masks and gloves. Really polite and answered any questions we had. They even left a bottle of sanitizer on the table. (My friend went to town emptying the bottle. Lmfao.) The dishes were packed full of flavor and they have an incredible prix fix menu for $24 that comes with an app, main dish, side or dessert. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. All the servers and staff were super kind, but because we were such a large table of 10, a few things got lost in translation (which is my only reason for giving it one less star). I ended up forgoing my side of raita because I asked 3 times for it and they never brought it out. I was basically done with my butter chicken at that point. However, they ended up giving us a comp on the raita which was nice of them. It took a while to get my masala chai, and it came out towards the middle of our meals. Never have I found a better pre fixed lunch menu! I'll break it down: First, you get your choice between Chicken Tikka Masala or Saag Paneer (I went Chicken Tik). Second - one more entree -- and there are a ton to choose from. They have veggie, chicken, lamb and a seafood section. I asked for the Butter Salmon but since the sauce is the same as the chicken tikka masala I'd be getting, the waiter recommended the curry salmon. SO happy I trusted him! It was so so good and not spicy at all. (I'm sure they can kick up the spice if you'd like). Lastly- rice or naan. The ultimate decision. If you are eating with another person, I recommend getting one of each because you wouldn't want to miss out on warm naan, but also... what is chicken tikka masala without rice?? We had lunch at Sathi, and it was worth every cent. The deal here for lunch is a bit different: for $11 you can order what basically amount to two entrees, along with rice or naan. We ended up paying $30 for a two-person meal, with enough to pack for dinner. What a steal! So, we ordered the saag paneer (spinach and cottage cheese) along with butter chicken, and also got the chicken tikka masala along with the lamb vindaloo. We had two pieces of naan, but ordered rice as well. I must say the food here is really good! The lamb vindaloo was the pick of the lot for me. It wasn't as spicy as advertised but it sure was packed with spices, with well cooked potatoes and delicious lamb. The Tikka Masala and butter chicken were solid, and are sweeter than usual (the way I like it), and the saag paneer is fine. Creamy, not too salty. Sathi's decor is nice, and the service was good.
