Chote Nawab Special Miloni Tarkari Vegetable Biryani Mango Lassi Large TO GO Garlic Naan
    Jeet G.

Food is reasonably priced given the big portions and tastes pretty good Vegetable biryani is pretty good (7/10) in my opinion! The Chote nawab special miloni tarkari is very flavorful but not super spicy (basically like saag paneer) if you want something on the milder side. The mango lassi was delicious! The service is very nice and friendly. It's a small place so they're on top of things when you need someone at your table. Good ambiance and pretty interior. The only gripe i have is that the booth seats are uncomfy and you slide off

Came here with some friends over the weekend, wow what a great experience. Food: unfortunately, I don't have the names of any of the food in front of me, but everything was absolutely delicious. A well-spiced cauliflower dish, slow-cooked chicken, delicious paneer, and garlic naan made for some amazing dishes that also felt extremely light on the stomach. Service: service was excellent between all of the waiters that came on by and helped. Aesthetic: the outside, which looks like most BYC storefronts hid a very beautiful interior with spacious seating and a nice, relaxing feel to it.

The first Indian place I tried in NYC since moving here and it did not disappoint! I usually come here with large groups after Church, and the service is always super accommodating and attentive which I always appreciate. (Especially for such a large party we bring every time) Food wise, the lunch special is super worth! You pick out of a selection of entrees and get unlimited naan and rice, which absolutely fills all of us up. I like getting the Tikka Masala, which is pretty flavorful and filling in itself. Since this is so close to our Church and accommodating of large groups, this is a regular restaurant I end up frequenting pretty often. Good place for anyone looking for solid Indian food in the area!

Update : I did visited this place the second time & I liked the food a lot. First time I wasn't that happy . Small & cute place . Customer service is good, restaurant & restroom is clean . It's a halal place & they do serve alcohol! If you are in that area give them a try , you will like it for sure .

Local traditional Indian restaurant that has been in Murray Hill for years. The food has plenty of flavor and there a lot of options to choose from. Servers are great and very attentive. The place has a more modern bright design aesthetic. The only unfortunate part is everything is a la carte so it does add up quickly. If you do find yourself frequenting the restaurant you should join their rewards program.

Came here for a quick lunch with a friend on a weekend. Ordered a few dishes, samosa, rice and naan bread to share, it was so good. My fave is the murg saag - seems they use dark chicken meat rather than white meat so it's nice and tender. The Palak Paneer was also tasty. Service was good and the restaurant is nice and clean. Would definitely be coming back here again soon!

My friend and I were craving Indian cuisine, so we headed to Curry Hill. We came across this cute little restaurant and took part in the lunch special. This included entree, bismati rice, veggies, and naan. I also had a Mango Lassi, which was delightfully creamy and thick, as well as sweet with fresh taste of mango. For my main course, I selected the Salmon Tikka, which was served sizzling on a cast iron plate. There were also onion, red and green peppers alongside the fish. The salmon was absolutely delicious... Tender, juicy, slightly crisp and well seasoned. I enjoyed the vegetables, as they were tasty with a bit of char. The veggie dishes were also really good. One was lentils and the other consisted of potatoes, chick peas, peas. Both were full of yummy spices and perfectly cooked. I wanted to try the garlic naan, but the lunch special is only served with regular naan, which was actually so well made. It was wonderfully warm, buttery, and soft. Service was lovely. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I would be open to returning at some point.

I give the place a 2 overall as some of the dishes miss the mark. However I'd give the biryani dishes a 4. The chicken tikka isn't very flavorful and dry. The naan bread came out 10 minutes after the entrees which is annoying as you are supposed to eat it with the dishes. We ordered a lamb kebab which we were told was very popular but it ended up being a minced patty like a thin hamburger fried on a flattop. Nothing "kebab" about that. I feel like naming it a kebab is misleading or that the server should or the menu should have mentioned it. Second time I went there my friend got a bite of food with some steel scouring thread in it. We pointed it out to the staff who apologized for it but they didn't really seem to care. When we asked for the bill they didn't apologize or acknowledge that we had metal bits in the food. This stuff happens but a little more acknowledgement or apology would be nicer than pretending it didn't happen

Been here twice in as many weeks which is saying a lot in a city like NY with an appetite for new experiences like mine. We sat down the road a bit but walked out for one reason or another and decided to just grab an outdoor seat here at Chote; we were quickly and ever so politely greeted and offered drink which of course we obliged. The three of us got the chicken tikka and myself the lamb rogan josh, the sauces were solid, delicious, not oily (and not actually solid; very delightful and saucy) The garlic naan was an absolute dream; the service was good and the food was delightful; not only that but it wasn't a fortune as one may expect now a days ordering Indian. The second "visit" was delivery and they honored every note and request as elegantly and wonderfully as the fantastic souls they are. Truly humble and grateful place that's so rare to find. For these reasons it's one of my favorite places. Is it the absolute best I've had? No, but it's quite good and well worth every penny. As I started saying, tonight we got delivery straight from their website (which you can apply 10% off) and it was here exactly when they said it would be, hot n fresh. (Slightly spilled). The peshwari naan was frighten amazing, the lamb biryani was a win, the pickles were pungent, hot, and strong as they should be. A good portion for all. The tikka masala was great too. We love it here and will be frequenting them whenever we want that Indian comfort.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

I believe there are other Indian Accent locations in India, and was excited to try their NYC spot. We went on a weekend evening around 5pm and had a really enjoyable experience overall. Nice ambiance inside, didn't feel overly packed where we were sitting. Service was great for the most part. Shane, our main server, stood out and he was SUPER helpful in walking us through the menu and making thoughtful suggestions. That said, it's definitely a team-service setup, so multiple staff members will assist your table throughout the meal. Everyone had great energy and made the experience feel polished. We did the prix fixe menu and went with 3 courses each across our group of 3. Two of us opted for the "midis" and one went for dessert, but we ended up sharing everything. Even though the portions initially seem small, we were surprisingly full by the end. One important note: go into this with an open mindset. This is not your typical, "generic" Indian food experience - it's much more modern, creative, and experimental. We did a lot of research before deciding what to order, so here's what we got/ordered: Amuse bouche (complimentary): A pumpkin shorba (soup) served in a cute little cup and blue cheese naan. Both were a great start, and we actually asked for more of the shorba. They said they'd bring it, but it never came, which was a bit disappointing, but still appreciated the palate cleanser concept. Appetizers (ordered 3): * Phulka jackfruit: Kind of like a taco - really nice flavor with these crispies on it and a nice sauce. * Kashmiri morel mushrooms: I'm not usually a mushroom person, but this was excellent. Loved the creamy base and overall flavor. * Potato sphere chaat: Probably the weakest of the three. It was more sev than potato, and didn't quite hit for me. Midis (ordered 2): * Yogurt kebab: Very interesting texture with a nice chutney base * Sweet pickle pork: I didn't personally try it, but the other two in my group loved it Mains (ordered 3): * Sweet corn vadai: Really unique and flavorful - one of the standouts * Paneer kofta: Not my favorite; different from what I expected * Chicken tikka meatballs: Surprisingly good! I don't usually love meatballs, but these had a great texture and flavor Accompaniments (ordered 3): * Butter chicken kulcha: Easily my favorite - would come back just for this, but note it can be a little "greasy" * Daal with black garlic naan: The naan was unique with a slightly sweet taste; the daal could've used a bit more depth * Chana masala kulcha: A little spicy but still very flavorful Dessert (ordered 1 + 1 complimentary): * Banana sticky date cake: A lovely, satisfying end to the meal * Makhan malai (complimentary for a birthday in our group): Very airy and unique texture - not really for us personally, but appreciate the team supporting our birthday celebration We skipped drinks even though the menu is extensive - we wanted to focus on the food Overall, I really liked this place. The dishes were a mix - nothing was outright bad (except maybe the makhan malai for our taste), but not everything was a hit either. Still, it's a fun, elevated dining experience with creative takes on Indian cuisine. I'd definitely go back, especially for the butter chicken kulcha. Only real miss was the forgotten re-order of the amuse bouche, but otherwise service and vibes were strong.

The star of the show is Jaz herself -- the owner, hostess, and bartender all rolled into one wonderfully warm, charming British woman who somehow makes you feel like you've been a regular for years within thirty seconds of walking through the door. She's the kind of host who remembers how you like your chai and makes the whole room feel like her living room. Now, the food. The Chana Masala is deeply spiced, rich with tomato and chickpeas, the kind of dish that makes you question every mediocre version you've had before. The Saag is silky, fragrant, and genuinely soulful -- spinach that actually tastes like something. And the Onion Kulcha? Pillowy, caramelized, absolutely yummy -- the kind of bread you'll be tearing into long after you're full. The flavors here are the real thing -- bold, layered, and unapologetically authentic.
