I chose this place because, not only has this company been around for many years and I used to use them before the other newer company opened up business, but because it's close to home. Customer service at the counter is good. Once helped by a woman and the first time by a man. Their names I can't remember. Unfortunately, they are not always in the office when one goes there during business hours. Yesterday, I arrived at around 1:30-2:00 and the doors were closed. Perhaps they took a break, but there wasn't any signage nor store hours listed. I needed to drop off something in my storage unit and there was a red car running with a person inside. They were not parked in the stall but just to the side of the building in the areas where the office is located. I wasn't sure if it was personnel taking a break or a random person. I decided to leave as I did not have any intention of going into an empty warehouse when no one was in the office. If the person in the red car worked there, they did not mention they were taking a break. This was not the first time this happens. My rate was also increased. I was expecting this as it's in the fine print. Every storage unit facility brings you in with a teaser rate and then bumps up the price. So I always pay several months upfront. What I did not expect was a big increase from about $62 to $89. For a 5x5 unit that is a lot, especially when the security system in place doesn't feel safe and the office is closed when it should be opened. They have cameras in the office, but what good is that if they are not being monitored. Regarding security, I won't mention where they can improve as I do not want to publicly say what the flaws are until I move my items out. Yes, I decided to move my items to a different facility after the rate was increased and after not finding anyone in the office and not feeling safe. Maintenance at the facility can also be improved. Some areas I've noticed do not get swept, at least on my floor. The times I've gone I have found the same dead bug or random debris. Lets see how today's visit goes.

Literally just left U-Haul of Middletown not even 5 mins ago and had to pull over to write this…read morereview because I had the BEST experience. To begin with I was nervous because of reviews I read online of people making hitch installation appointments and then when they go, the parts are not ready, so then they have to make a completely new reservation. HOWEVER this was not my experience one bit. My husband spoke with Cody who made the reservation for us and understood or hesitations based on the reviews that we read. However he did make us feel super comfortable and even had the manager acknowledge that this would not be our experience. Fast forward to today, I walked in and was greeted by Mike, the manager, and he was so kind and immediately got my car in the garage to start the installation. I was anticipating waiting two hours but I actually was in and out in an hour. Brian was also super helpful, while I waited I asked a few questions about their cargo trailers and he went above and beyond showing me sizes outside, helping me look for a cargo trailer ASAP, and was super patient! Brian was knowledgeable and also so kind. Brian was like that with every customer who walked in. He acknowledged their entry and immediately let them know he'd be right with them. Brian outlined everything super clearly for me - from trailer sizes, to coming outside to show me how to put the trailer on just in case, he gave me brochures and sent a video for how to install. I had an appointment scheduled to have my hitch installed on Tuesday. I show up for the appointment…read moreonly to be told my hitch did not come in as ordered. Rescheduled my appointment for Wednesday. I take time off from work on Wednesday, drop the truck off, and three hours later I am told they can't install the hitch receiver because it is bent. They promise to have the receiver sent overnight from another location, and reschedule my appointment to Friday afternoon. Again, I take off from work to get the hitch installed. I show up at the location, only to find out that the hitch installer went to the hospital for an injury. I ask the GM why he didn't call me to let me know, and he says he was too busy for a 2 minute phone call. I would highly recommend finding somewhere else to get a hitch installed!
