Do not skip the Arroz la Plancha - omg. I don't like mushrooms usually, but I was with some friends and I was open to ordering it this time and I am so happy we did!!!! The pasta was also delicious and my friends really enjoyed how smooth the beef tongue was. We made a reservation online about 3 weeks before. I was seated right away when I arrived! Started off with the scallop crudo with super fresh and tender scallop pieces with a good ratio of citrus notes and salt. The lengua tonnata exceeded my expectations!! Not only were the lengua pieces super tender and well seasoned, the tonnata sauce which was blended with tuna and anchovies was very creamy, smooth, and addicting without being overly rich. Paired with the caper berries, it was like umami heaven!! I don't usually rave about salads but their radicchio salad is something that I would order every time! If you like a creamy salad with textural complexity, this is it!! Drenched in their tahini sauce, the veggies itself were fresh, crunchy, and well-seasoned. The addition of the crispy crumble pieces, herbs, and pickled fennel added lots of contrasts. The crab casino was good too, but I felt like the guanciale stole the spotlight away from the crab. The arroz la plancha was another highlight of the night! The mushroom aroma greets you immediately and the cheese crusts were consistently crispy. I loved how it was super cheesy without being too moist or sauce-y. Lastly, the fluke was cooked nicely with a savory brown butter sauce that was complemented by the sweet onion flavor profile. They are also a wine bar with a great selection of options. I got myself a grenache rose that was delicious and paired well with the later dishes. My partner's selection of two white wines were also very crisp. For two people, they typically recommend 2 apps, 2 medium plates, and 1 entry to share. Next time I definitely wanted to try the cabbage and the lobster au poivre! Staff were friendly and food came quickly with appropriate timing between dishes. There is a bar section in the front with more sit-down tables and a counter top area in the back. We had an amazing time and excited to come back!!

Shafayet was always responsive to our inquiries / requests and provided solutions to the many problems that were encountered in a project of this size. He also coordinated well with the architect and third party vendors that were involved in this project too. His bid for the job was very reasonable compared to the bids of 4 other general contractors. Great value overall!

We called NYC A1 and the owner, Moe, inspected the damage and pointed out that a leak from beneath the wall-in shower on the floor above had thoroughly saturated the supporting ceiling joist over some period of time. Repair required a partial demolition of the shower above so we decided to bite the bullet and redo that bathroom completely. Moe gave us a fair price and stated the job would take 3 to 4 weeks. I am always dubious of timelines that contractors provide so I assume it would take longer. Moe's capable team showed up three days after I signed the contract. They were very professional, protected the rest of the house from the bulk of the construction with tarps and plastic sheeting, showed up consistently (including on two Saturdays), and worked full days. Long story short, work was completed in three weeks. We are thoroughly delighted with the final products. See photos below. Highly recommended.

The guys even frequently stopped to admire items and would ask if they could keep little trinkets. The crews worked really hard and will hustle to get the job done. They also do a great job of saving photos and items that look like heirlooms. We felt most crews were respectful and even offered tips on how to repair or sell stuff. If not for what went wrong below, we would have had consistently 5-STAR experiences. Where things took a turn was in the last cleanout, a large crew came to clear the rest of the home. Unlike prior crews that took great care in bagging up items and carefully disassembling furniture, this crew kept breaking perfectly good dishes, glassware, vases, books, figurines, antique sculptures, furniture, artwork, wood-framed mirrors, and more. They would toss bags across the room and I would hear entire bags of glass shatter. About half of these items were smashed to smithereens and definitely not making it to new homes. A mahogany table, several chairs, and solid wood bookshelves were also extremely damaged from how they were being moved around and stacked. A primary reason we hired Junkluggers over competitors was for their eco-friendly mission to donate and recycle items! The stuff that was left in the last round included complete china sets now smashed to bits, newly released books that were thrown in with cleaning supplies, perfectly intact art pieces now ripped, branded glassware still in original boxes, etc. Had we known that they would treat this round like this, like rotting garbage, we would have waited and made an effort to offer these items and furniture to family, friends, neighbors, charities, and local groups. It broke my heart watching nice things get destroyed, even though this stuff did not belong to my immediate family. I did get frustrated enough to ask why they kept breaking everything, and the guys just shrugged and said they were running out of time. While they met their commitment of clearing the home, I would think twice before hiring them again, as the degree to which they treat items seems to vary and did not leave me feeling confident that most of it will be donated or recycled.
