When you mark a 1 star review, Yelp asks you "what could improve?" and offers suggestions. However, I don't have an option for EVERYTHING. I asked to take off my existing gel builder set and apply a new one. I was sat down, then asked to move two seats over. Not a big deal. She started drilling off the color gel and first layer of builder, then switched bits and started drilling off another layer. She then went to grab a file and I asked her if she was going to soak them off. She said that she already filed all the product off. She did not. Then in Vietnamese, she told someone to bring her a bowl of acetone. When they brought it over, she told them she doesn't know why I wanted a soak off when all the product is off. She left me to soak while she did someone's pedicure. After five minutes, I started scraping off product. After about 15 minutes, someone mentioned to her that I had been sitting there a while. A gentlemen came over and started filing off the rest of the product off my nails. I told him I only wanted a gel manicure and not the gel builder. He started a manicure. In the middle of his polish, the lady came back. "What happened to the gel builder?" "Oh she didn't want it, just a gel manicure" "well aren't you lucky" LUCKY??? When he finished my nails, there was a bump on one finger. He asked someone to bring him a top coat and said that I bumped my nail. Sir. I did not bump my nail. You painted a dust bunny in it. He fixed it then put my hands in paraffin plastic gloves and walked away. Lady came back, removed the paraffin and then wiped my hands off with a hot towel. $15 take off $33 gel manicure Am I in Macon or San Francisco? The end result is LUMPY. My polish is not smooth and even and I don't see the shine line. You know the straight line of reflection when your polish is done right!!! Never again. Never. read more

I went to Sassy Nail in Macon on Saturday for what was supposed to be a relaxing pedicure with a hot stone leg massage. To be fair, the pedicure itself was great. Then things took a turn. At the end, I was asked if I wanted a neck massage. I politely said, "No thank you." Apparently that was merely a suggestion, because moments later this woman began closed-fist punching my neck and shoulders like she was training for a title fight. Just when I thought the assault portion of the pedicure was over, she reached under my shirt and began grabbing handfuls of my shoulder fat and squeezing with the force of someone trying to knead bread dough possessed by demons. I hate confrontation, so instead of screaming...I sat there silently crying, praying internally, and questioning every life choice that led me to that chair. In my shock-induced state, I somehow thanked her afterward Then came the financial ambush...I was charged $72 for a service that should have been $47 and the payment process was rushed so quickly I wasn't even given a chance to adjust the tip so I walked out paying $89. It has now been two days, and I have bruises and soreness to the touch. So if you're looking for a standard pedicure? Great! If you're looking for an unexpected deep-tissue exorcism followed by highway robbery? Even better! Overall, I learned two things: 1. Advocate for yourself. 2. Idk what the low reviews are abt but I had a great French gel manicure that is still lasting 2 weeks later (hasn't peeled off), and now I'm back getting a pedicure. There is def some language barrier at times but with patient communication (both ways) the results are good. The atmosphere is chill and you can tell the owner cares abt the decor giving off a luxurious vibe. Macon is lucky to have this spot. read more

I have been using this place for the last 3-4 months for my pedicures. Since it was my birthday and my former nail tech no longer does nails, I decided to give them a try for a full set. I showed the lady the first picture to show the shape and French tip design I wanted. The 2nd picture is what I got. This is absolutely a rip off. They pretend not to understand English to just go ahead and do things to charge extra..I kept telling them no but they charged me $40 to cut my toe nails. If you are elderly, be very careful. They are set up to rip you off. I used to go there a couple years ago and they cut my nails for $5. I know prices have risen but they had already started before they showed me a price list that started at $29. I've been to Sassy Nails a couple of times and I've never been impressed. They can do a basic solid SNS color or gel, but don't ask for a french. They need to retrain their nail techs or something. I don't care what they do but something needs to change. I asked my nail tech for a simple french SNS with a small bow design on it (picture below), and she had to have four other techs come over and look at it before she ultimately decided she couldnt do it. I would give zero stars if possible. I got some little young male nail tech today who rushed through the entire pedicure. He didn't even clip or file my nails. I still had dry skin on my big toe from an area he either didn't exfoliate or didn't moisturize. He also cut my cuticles WAY too close on my left foot and now my big toe is sore in that area. And after all of this, he had the nerve to rush me to pay and rush me out of the chair. The shop was not busy at all and I told him I wanted to wait until my toes dried. I will never return to SaSsy Nail on Bass Rd Macon, Ga. had SNS nails taken off (dtr and myself) AND just a manicure with plain polish $54! And I am soooo disappointed with the manicure. My cuticles are just as bad as when I step foot in there. My polish was wet for one full day!~ fingerprints in them and all. She started off by not even doing cuticle care, straight on to gluing tips on THEN she started using dirty drill bits on me. It's just gross. She cut them too short and when I said something about that, she got short and started complaining. When the shape wasn't right, she got started complaining that I said something. When I told her I didn't like the stripes and to just do a French tip, this is what I got. I've been getting my nails done here since February 2021, and let me tell you, I have not been disappointed! I always ask for Ryan, to the point where they automatically know that's the person I want to see for my nails. He's very sweet, patient and really puts his heart in what he does. I never leave the chair with anything less than a smile. Anytime I show them a picture of how I want my nails, they go above and beyond to ensure I receive what I ask for, and they even give me suggestions that they think I'll like (and I always do!) Some girls were not paying attention to what they were doing to my manicure/ pedicure and busy talking to their coworkers. My nail cuticles cut too deeply that it was so painfully bleeding during the manicure. Other girl who did the pedicure, she was doing the nail-cut so so poorly on my toes that weren't even! She almost burnt on my legs with a hot towel and nonchalantly massaged my legs, like, she was so ready to be done with me...Please, teach this certain girl how to ask a customer such as "is the towel too hot for you?" Quite possibly the worst manicure/pedicure I've ever gotten in my life. The last time I was here was in April and I still think about this manicure to this day. They also cut my big toe nail during my pedicure to the point where it bled and the nail tech squirted some blue solution on it and called it a day. Worst nail experience ever. A few things I noticed as an out of town visitor that was there as I was visiting family in area. After a 30 minute wait, I was placed at a nail station and sat there so long that I soaked the gel off my own nails. Likely st this point, I'm about an hour in. A lady finally came and did my nails as fast as she could then charged me extra for soaking!!! I noticed that the "nail kit" the technician was using had nail files in it that she used on me that were completely worn down on edges, meaning that the same time was being used on other people. (My usual salon in MI used a small new disposable file and buffer on with each customer.) Also, when the technician asked me to washed my hands during the process, there were no paper hand towels, so I wiped my hands on my skirt. The guy took twice the time massaging that I expected. Since I visit the area often, I will try to schedule pedicures here instead of my usual place close to home. Went here for a last minute manicure. Got SNL nails done. Wasn't too bad but did not get the full experience. The girl next to me got a full arm massage and the other people I came with did too but I did not which kinda sucked. They also didn't clip my nails or file them down before putting the fake nail over the ends or clean around my nails at all. I recently moved to the lofts so I might as well go to a salon that's walking distance. The first time I went I got the manicure and pedicure at the same time. Don't let them do that. My gel nails look like **** and peeled right off the next day. After that I got the SNS and John did a decent job (since I wasn't busy getting a pedicure). This place sucks. I have come here twice. The first time I didn't make an appointment and sat here for 2+ hours. So the second time I called ahead and made an appointment. I was not seen for over 15 minutes after my appointment time, and half way through my nails, the technician got up and did someone else's nails while i sat and waited. I sat here for 20 minutes and finally he came back after I told them I had somewhere to be. He didn't wash his hands after doing someone's toes before he came to do my nails. Went here to get a pedicure. Got the $29 pedicure (involves oils) and the $5 callus treatment. Overall the salon was crowded but well staffed; I didn't have to wait. It was clean. Not super impressed with my pedicure. The callus treatment and massage were great but the polish job could have been better. I like my toenails super short which can throw the technician for a loop but my toenails grow super fast and I like them super short so I cut them myself before I go. I have been here numerous times. Before covid-19 I loved the salon. Jesse was my tech and she knew reflexology or so it seemed. She was always very nice to talk to. Young, and of course was in college. During covid she either graduated from college and started her new career. I asked about her but no one would say. So I get someone new and she was super nice. Couldn't polish a nail very well though. So I go a second time after covid-19 let the salons open back up and this time I got a lady that was barely dressed. I didn't like what I was seeing... nor did I like her fingernail in my foot during massage. Polish was much better that time. The salon had been remodeled during covid and was much larger and prettier. However, menus were updated to pay for these renovations.
