The best thing I've done for myself in years. As a former dancer I am always wary of classes that look like dance fitness because I find the choreography can be kind of boring or repetitive but not here. The classes are so much fun, teach foundational dance skills, and inspire so much self confidence. The instructors are some of the warmest, most encouraging people I have ever met and they really go out of their way to check in and make sure everyone is feeling good during the class. There is such a strong vibe of camaraderie and supporting each other with all the other students as well. People are more than happy to talk to you, build you up, and answer any first timer questions you may have. The song selection varies by genre so there's always something for everyone and putting your own unique flavor into the moves is encouraged. I cannot recommend these classes enough. Just try one and you absolutely will not regret it! read more

I love it here! Such great feminine energy. Very supportive and safe space to learn and grow as a dancer.

High heels class was a killer workout that was so much fun! It was a workout that brings out an inner sexy goddess. I would recommend for those who are looking for a fun way to get toned. The only downside is the COVID concerns. Everyone had their masks off and the room got sweaty very fast. Windows were closed since it's cold out. Not the studio's fault but just something to keep in mind. read more

I had a great time. It gave me an opportunity to reconnect with my sensual self. I'm very rusty, as I've been raising children for the past two decades. But it's my turn to get back to me. Sass class is a great start. I'm buying a package of classes. read more

Great, clean studio. The reception are mostly warm and helpful. I love Emma and David's classes. They are both superb teachers and dancers.

Very good classes, reasonable price and perfect location I attend once a week if I like a song, which you can know in advance on their Instagram Not all teachers are equally good, so four stars, but I definitely have my favorites Overall great experience read more

Always such a fun time in the Sexy Stilettos class! Great teachers, choreo & atmosphere for people with and without dance experience.

Amazing studio for anyone and everyone who just wants to dance. Music choice for choreography is always so great, and instructors are super welcoming and just want you to have fun and feel comfortable. The community seems very devoted and genuine. I've been going for almost 2 months now and I've loved every class! read more

I LOVE this place! It's the best way to end the day. The classes are super fun, the instructors are awesome. It's a safe space to let your hair down (and whip it around). Whether you've been dancing for years, or for the first time in your life SassClass is welcoming and supportive. read more

I've had great experiences both times I've attended workshops at SassClass. Classes are for all levels of dancers, and teachers encourage and empower students to feel confident when dancing. For those not located in the city, studio is a short walk from NY Penn Station or PABT and easy to get to. read more

This dance studio is quite chic. I really like the decor and size of rooms. I'd go back for sure!

Let me just start by saying WOW! I totally did not expect to feel this way. I just finished my first dance and video program with these guys and I had such blast. I feel like a superstar! Im not much of a dancer, but everyone was so encouraging. It's all levels so I didn't feel like I was getting any awkward stares when I would mess up. My teacher Tony had such great energy and has the remarkable ability to bring out the fierceness in you! I also had the pleasure of meeting Julia, the founder of Sassclass. She was so warm and friendly. She took the time to talk to me and get to know me as a person, and not just a student. The students weren't catty or snobby like I thought they were gonna be. On the first day of class I was so nervous and didn't know what to expect, but the girls were so friendly and welcoming. By shoot day, we were all cool with eachother, and cheering one another on when we were working it for the camera! I danced so hard my wig flew off! So much fun! After the shoot we all went out for drinks. I didn't expect that either! Im so happy I found Sassclass and i can't wait to work it in the next program! read more

I love to watch Dancing with the stars as much as the next person, and never imagined I would have the nerve to take a dance class myself. I have been so thrilled with my experience at Sass Class. Julia and the girls are all so inspiring and patient. Even for me, a TOTAL beginner, they taught me confidence and style and I'm learning new things every week! This has been worth every penny and I would recommend it to everyone, even someone with no experience like me! read more

loveee it here :) instructors are so talented in their craft, and so encouraging to all levels

I've been attending dance classes at sass class since October 2021. I feel very safe and comfortable in this space when I dance! Dress up and feel sexy=)!! I do that for every class I go to. All instructors are great! Love all the instructors. Open level can still challenging for me sometimes! If you didn't get the choreo, don't worry! Keep dancing and you will one day! If you're a beginner, I recommend the beginner course called sass foundation or take workshops. I took the taste of sass (8 week course. You don't have to take all courses) when I first started and it's super beginner friendly. The instructors took their time to really teach you!! And you're learning the same choreo and same song for 2 weeks in the same module. Much slower pace than the 1 hour open level courses! Really love sass class. Took a few friends here to dance with me and I made a lot of friends during my 1+ year of coming to classes! Love love read more

Amazing ! The second I walked through the door I was greeted with a beautiful out of this world energy. The front desk woman made me feel welcomed and she was interested in who I was and my story. Moments like this are unforgettable. Then we met the instructor and the class was encouraged to share about ourselves and break the ice, we all got so close after 2 classes. Truly empowering place. Anyone looking to try something new, this is not the place to shy away from, take a risk, find your inner fierce, you won't regret it. Safe place, positive, encouraging, energy. Really enjoyed the Sexy Stilettos drop-in class Monday night with Emma. Good for all levels. Everyone was supportive of each other. The warm-up sans heels was excellent too. Will definitely do it again. Bonus: they're on ClassPass! Also a very fun idea for a birthday or bachelorette activity, especially with professional videography/photography to capture all of the amazing beautiful moments since it flies by! Team Sass knows how to make the most of their resources to turn you into a confident, sexy dancer. They rent out the space too! We used the bigger studio for a private yoga session and it was perfect for 15-20 ppl. read more

After trying beginner and intermediate heels classes at different places in Manhattan I ended up at SassClass. I found myself in a clean and cozy studio where I felt welcomed, motivated and like I was truly learning. I have taken group classes and private lessons, and have participated in various video programs where I have worked with each of the regular instructors. These individuals are not only amazing dancers but they are phenomenal teachers. Unlike my previous experiences, I did not feel discouraged for being a beginner nor did I feel like I would remain in a stagnant dance environment. SassClass offers great technical instruction while keeping clases interesting and challenging. I am so glad I found this studio! read more

LOVE this class. As a non-dancer who loves trying new things, I immediately felt like I could be comfortable and class always flys by. Julia's a great instructor who brings a level of warmth and camaraderie that makes it unlike other group sessions I've attended. The class is super unintimidating and fosters a culture of encouragement. Everyone ends up letting loose and having tons of fun. The studio space is super easy to find, clean, bright and has a great sound system. read more

The studio was clean and the staff were very welcoming and inclusive - I think that makes a huge difference especially for new-timers. I took a class with Kayla on a Monday night a few weeks ago and it was bomb.com! She was easy to follow and very encouraging. The studio has clothing, kneepads, etc. for sale in case you forget something, which I loved and they're cute designs! Overall, would recommend as a great workout either for yourself or a group of your close girlfriends. read more

Absolutely loved my experience strutting and dancing alongside a tribe of strong women who were as sexy as they were supportive! Our patient instructors coached us through empowering choreo, perfect hair flip dips, and chair backbends. And thanks to a super respectful, professional photographer and videographer, our best angles were skillfully captured to reminisce forever. Thank you SassClass! read more

I signed up for Taste of Sass for a fun way to get my body moving and back into dance. I wasn't sure what to expect but ended up having a BLAST at every workshop and definitely got a great workout in the process. The instructors were great at breaking things down to an easy-to-understand level while still providing fun choreography. Definitely helped bring out a different side of me I'm not used to tapping into. Highly recommend for a fun workout, or someone looking to gain some confidence in their life. read more

I took my first stilettos class here with Emma. It was definitely challenging but I *love* the supportive community that SassClass offers. I take usually one class per week at SassClass and it is my favorite part of the week. The whole atmosphere here is welcoming, empowering, and so much fun! The instructors and other attendees are very supportive. I've never done anything like this before, so to say the least I wasn't the quickest at catching onto the choreography. Everyone was friendly & cheering each other on. read more

SassClass has been truly an amazing experience. I've been to a lot of dance studios and this one stands out for so many reasons. Julia puts a lot of time in making sure we have a great time learning choreography. If you haven't danced before, she will show you beginner friendly choreography and make you feel like star. I have danced since I was a kid on and off and felt happy with the choreography she taught us. In the modern day, people you know, may not have time to come and see a recital. Therefore, I like her concept for a video shoot to send to friends and family or post of social media. Julia is a professional and plans things in advance to make sure we are all on the same page. If you are a newcomer, she makes sure you feel welcomed. I would give this studio 6 stars if I could. read more

SassClass is so much more than dancing to fierce songs with sassy choreography (although that alone is so awesome anyway). The SassClass workshop I participated in were taught by founder by Julia Sokol - a true visionary in embracing the female body, spirit and soul. Somehow through booty shaking and hair flipping she has you leaving each session feeling incredibly confident, loved, and excited about life. Truly amazing. Oh, and you feel sexy as hell, too! read more

Total waste of time. Just ripping off people, who don't know anything about dancing. The price is not worth it for an hour class. There are many better dance studios in nyc that give you 1.5-2 hours for the same price and a better class. Hope this review stays for long enough to read because the owner has deleted other bad reviews in the past. read more

SassClass was the NYC gem I didn't know I needed, and now I'm addicted. I grew up dancing, but stopped somewhere around college due to time constraints and real life responsibilities. Recently I found myself longing to get back into the dance community, craving that feeling of learning choreography, practicing for recitals, and performing. All I found were children's classes and professional showcases, neither of which was my demographic. Enter SassClass. Except instead of a recital, there's a professionally filmed and edited video shoot, and you best believe the adrenaline rush is exactly the same (only better, because if you mess up you've got a few more takes to get it right). The instructors really make sure you look and feel like a total superstar on camera, and the whole experience is so empowering. Prior experience is helpful, but really not necessary, as the studio caters to all levels. Highly recommend! read more

SassClass routines and optional video shoots are so.much.fun! Julia, the founder, will always give the most genuine care & attention, is always open to suggestions, and you'll learn all of the tips and routines that make every SassClass end with a permanent laugh & smile on your face! NYC can sometimes be exclusive/snooty about dance classes, but this is something different & unique that everyone should try! Guarantee you won't regret it. Go get SASSY! read more

So I came into SassClass not knowing what to except since I've never taken a dance class ever before. But what I got after was so much more than What I could've asked for. After every class your left feeling sexier, sassier, bolder more ready to take on the world. Julia and Tony are such great instructors with creative choreography whether your a beginner or an intermediate. They give you the chance to be a star of your own show with a video shoot at the end with only the best production. You'll always find positivity and support and a sense of SassTerhood every time you come in.. something you won't find in other dance Schools. She is patient and great at providing corrections and encouraging you to give it your all.
