The coupons said you could only order from a choice of 2, but our server said to get whatever we want off the menu! We both had omelets that were excellent. The toast appeared and tasted like it was from a bakery that morning and the coffee was very good. She even filled our travel mugs before we left. Dinner the night before was kind of a bummer in that their prime rib special was already gone at 6pm when we went in. I heard it is excellent. We will be back there and go in earlier to try it out. All around, the Kootenia Hotel and casino is a great get away.

The kind of place where you walk in and already know you're about to tear some food up! Now for the food... I ordered the chicken carnitas, and let me tell you, this stuff was pretty damn good! The chicken was packed with flavor, and they definitely didn't skimp on the portion. The rice and beans were delicious as well. But let's talk about those flour tortillas. Those things were freaking amazing! Soft, fresh, and so damn good I could've eaten a whole stack of them by themselves! And the Dr Pepper? Mmm! That stuff was crisp, refreshing, and addictive as hell! I don't know what kind of sorcery they're performing with that soda machine, but that Dr Pepper was on point. Overall... This joint is pretty dope! Great service, cool atmosphere, and some damn good food. Those flour tortillas alone are worth coming back for! If you're in the neighborhood, give this place a shot. Your stomach will thank you!

It's well worth the drive with plenty of parking on the street and close by. It's not a quiet place, being a pub, but doubly so when the Jays are playing the Yankees in the ALDS up two nothing and 12 runs having been scored in the first four innings. If you're looking for peace and quiet go elsewhere. It's an interesting place, with plenty of charisma. The staff writer as great, helpful and accommodating of perhaps a little prone to tending the tables instead of us at the bar. That said we didn't feel neglected at all even though we were left pretty much alone after our food was dropped. My chicken souvlaki was quite good, with big chunks of chicken breast that was very nicely cooked, not dry at all, not easy to accomplish. The potato and rice pilaf was also very good, as was the tzatziki and the pita. Solid meal! The lovely K had the Veggie Alfredo with Caesar salad and garlic bread which was plentiful, piping hot and tasty. The salad we shared was shaved romaine with diced red onion, dill and apple cider vinaigrette. It didn't sound good to me, but we ordered it anyway, and it was really good. Would we go back, hell ya!!

Loved the building it was in, a ton of character and charm. The menu was pretty big but we went for the fish and chips and chicken nugget poutine. The portions are HUGE. One portion is good for at least 2 people, probably 3 or 4. The curly fries were good but the fish was a little greasy. The poutine was okay. The gravy wasn't as flavorful as I'd hoped. On a side note, the cook was this semi grumpy and gruff but I felt like that was part of the charm. Just a warning. All in all, it was fine but not somewhere I'd seek out.
