Our server was Crystal and she was VERY patient with us as we deliberated over the choices on the menu. We sat at the window but honestly you can see the river from any table. We started with the spinach artichoke dip and I had to stop myself and grab a pic and hold off since I knew more food was imminent. Scrumptious dip served with thick pitas. Next top choice was the hand-battered fish & chips. 4 large pieces which came with beautiful fries and coleslaw. It's a must try! I had the Little London and added the side salad which was the perfect size for me. Very tasty beef with melted Gorgonzola. Gravy and mashed potatoes, average but served hot. Veggies were sautéed yellow squash & zucchini which were tasty. The rest of my party ordered French Onion Soup, Chicken Alfredo, Little Chicken Tenders & Fries, Sirloin steak with loaded baked potato. All satisfied my hungry men. Shared a vanilla sundae with luscious huckleberry sauce. Mmm It was a pleasant dinner and we hope to come back for breakfast soon. Considering the local options, I believe this was the best choice for our special occasion dinner. We'll be returning. read more

I stayed here at this hotel for a week and so I got to eat here a couple of times. The hotel at the casino gives you a free breakfast every morning and it's really nice because you get to pick off the menu. So much better than most hotels, free breakfasts that are continental breakfasts. With that being said, the breakfast is just OK. I think their eggs and the meat selections were good but the hashbrowns are not good. I had dinner one night here and I ended up getting a steak and I would say the steak was fairly good. so I think this is a good place if your if you're staying at the hotel and you want to get a quick bite to eat. We decided to try The Springs Restaurant at the Kootenai Casino during our trip to Bonners Ferry, ID. Unfortunately, while the service was pretty good, the food left us feeling disappointed and regretful about spending $36 per plate. First, let me highlight the positive: the service. Our server was attentive and polite and checked in regularly to make sure we had what we needed. Sadly, her great service couldn't make up for the lackluster food. I ordered the turkey dinner, and for $36, I expected something satisfying and hearty. Instead, I received a single, small slice of turkey breast that tasted processed and flavorless. The mashed potatoes were clearly from a box--grainy and bland--and the vegetables were cold as if they had been sitting awhile. My wife had the shrimp and steak, which was equally disappointing. The shrimp was undercooked, and her steak was mediocre at best. The same sad, cold vegetables and box-mix mashed potatoes rounded out her plate. For these prices, we couldn't help but feel cheated. The food honestly tasted like a glorified frozen Swanson Hungry Man dinner, just plated a little fancier. If we were paying $12 for a meal like this, we might have shrugged it off, but $36 per plate is unacceptable for this quality. The Springs might be a convenient stop if you're already at the casino, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for good food. Two stars only because of the friendly service. read more

Excellent food for the price! For dinner we were glad that the neighboring table got their food before we ordered because the portions are very large and we decided to share an entree. We each had a trip to the salad bar which was pretty basic but very fresh and then shared the chicken fettuccine which was soooo good. I even had enough left over for a little take home box to bring back to our room and put in the fridge. Our complimentary breakfast was delicious and they even gave me a small side of hollandaise on request. Full hot breakfast is included with your room too which is airways wonderful! Stopped in on my way to Montana with my wife for a quick lunch date because it was highly recommended, not only was the food amazing. The view was stunning and our server. Cherokee was one of the best servers we've ever had great humor, very personable and knew a lot about the town she pointed us in the right direction with the chicken fried steak told us more places to go and things to do the food was fast, and everyone had a smile on their face. I stayed at the Best Western last night and this is the restaurant on their property. I planned in trying it for dinner but never did since I was so tired from travelling all day from the east coast. Unexpectedly, when I checked into the hotel, I received a breakfast voucher for this location. I planned on having breakfast with them anyway and fortunately they had a decent variety although there were only three options on the voucher. I opted for the 2 egg meal which came with home fries, my choice of toast or english muffin and my choice of meat. I added a huckleberry pancake on top of my voucher since I have never tried huckleberry before and it is everywhere out this way! The two egg breakfast was delicious and came with a huge chunk of ham! The huckleberry pancake was so good! I ate the whole thing. They serve it with whipped butter and regular and homemade huckleberry syrup. The huckleberry syrup was great! The server, Annie, was super friendly and welcoming which I extra appreciate when I am dining solo. Thanks for the great breakfast and great service. Now I am onto Montana =) read more

One of the perks of staying at the casino hotel was a complimentary breakfast voucher for each individual staying. You do only get three choices, but they have all the bases covered for healthy (and non-healthy) options. We all did their 2-egg breakfast with choice of meat w/hashbrowns/toast, and let me tell ya, it was prepared well and perfectly filling. You really need to factor that into the price of the room. If you went local, you'd drop $50-60 before tip for something similar. And you sure wouldn't get that gorgeous view of the Kootenay River. Service was great. Hotel restaurants can be pretty iffy, but if breakfast is any indication, this would be a really convenient option to walking to the downtown restos. Well on our previous visit we ate at the Kootenai Brewery and decided to try something else, this place has great service and the food was great also. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, we sat by the window overlooking the river and even though it was winter time it was beautiful. I had the Asian chicken wrap with sweet potato fries ( only recommendation is they should use a red or green tortilla to add color), my wife had the mushroom Swiss burger and our boys had Mac and cheese and a cheeseburger. My wife and I took turns going to play the penny slots and started with $20 on wheel of fortune and left with $80 more, definitely enjoyed our experience here and way cheaper then the brewery. Great 70's-80's kind of atmosphere which we loved. Lots of great options on the menu for vegetarians also. read more

We went here after a hike seeking a good meal. We happened onto it by way of just Google/yelp but we were extremely happy with our stop here. It was my husband's birthday and they gave us a large discount on our meal because of it. The food was really good and unexpected. We try to eat mostly vegetarian and there were so many things on the menu for us! I got the quesadilla and fried mushrooms and my husband got the hummus plate. The quesadilla was honestly the best one I have ever had in my life. The tortilla was crispy and crunchy and there was a lot of cheese! The mushrooms really were also the best I had ever had-even better than a certain chain's that I love. Our server was so amazing. She was friendly and sensitive to my husband's dairy allergy, suggesting other add ons. And having a view of the river was a great way to top it off. My favorite dish at The Springs is the Caesar Salad with Salmon. Always very tasty. My husband has enjoyed their Prime Rib, Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, or a burger on occasion. We've both enjoyed the Sesame Stir Fry also. Their dessert menu includes 2 of the best desserts I've ever tasted: The Signature Kootenai Log AND the Reese's Peanut Butter Gooey Log. The Kootenai Log is made of espresso fudge ice cream with Oreo cookie ends. Topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream and almonds. The Reese's Gooey Log is vanilla ice cream topped with Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, peanut butter sauce, hot fudge and whipped cream. The salad bar is consistently low or out of everything tonight it is lettuce. Waited and waited so now I canceled my salad S my dinner is here. The good stuff is on the back row so customers sprinkle food into different containers. So it's kind of a poorly stocked cross contamination bar. Chilled by shallow ice bath. Than poorly trained staff discourages customers from seating near closing. This was a total of 16 people in four groups tonight. Not good that was money walking out the door. The door and they were hotel patrons too. The place doesn't need a makeover and remodel. Ordered a cheeseburger with the salad bar salad bar was pretty good but they charge 4.00 to sub in place of fries so no bargain. The cheeseburger seriously tasted like one you might have picked up at a mini mart I can't say any more about it 11.99 for dry not even sure it was beef burger. So 16.00 for bad small burger and ok salad. I would stop at the fast food down the street on the mini mart quality would be better and much cheaper.
