The service here was amazingly quick for our party of seven. At first, I thought for sure they must have accidentally brought us someone else's food! The food itself was great, and the prices were quite reasonable. The only slight knock is that the staff were not especially friendly. Not rude by any means, and they were responsive to requests, but it wasn't exactly service with a smile. That's fine, though; not worth deducting a star over. read more

The best!! I love their refried beans so much - seriously the best around. I've travelled to mexico, california, and all over and these refried beans honestly are one of my favorites lol. if you enjoy beans like me definitely check it out. we always get the mi pueblo special and split it between us - and we always have leftovers it's amazing how much delicious food you get. the bacon wrapped shrimp is sooo good, and the salted mushrooms with onions they serve with it are amazing and really uniquely flavored. they hand make all the tortillas and you can tell, they're always delicious. they give complimentary chips and salsa even with take out and they make their own salsa and it's very good!! love it. they decor and interior is super cute as well and service is always great. i highly recommend them, even for just take out! read more

Place is great. Service was fantastic and the food was authentic. Very good Pollo en Mole.

I have food here while visiting Bonners ferry. I ordered a taco and enchilada combo plate. . The enchilada was really good. It was with shredded chicken and green sauce, but the taco was supposed to be ground beef but they sent me chicken instead. So I sent the taco back and they made a new one which was supposed to be with ground beef, but the ground beef did not taste good it had some type of Sauce on it and it was very liquefied and runny so it made the tortilla really soggy. It just did not have a good flavor. The man that seemed to be doing the waiting and cashier and hostess, was not very friendly at all. He was pretty attentive and I got served pretty quickly. He just didn't have much of a personality. The chips and salsa were pretty good. I think it's the only Mexican food in the town and so it's fairly good considering. read more

The food was tasty and service was quick! The decor inside is fun, too. I ordered the taco and enchilada combo and loved it all! In addition to salsa with the chips, they give you a cabbage mixture I've never had before and it was tasty, too. I wish I could have tried the Huckleberry Margarita I saw on the menu, but we were in a rush on the road. Hopefully we get a chance to come back! read more

Mi Pueblo - Ground beef crispy taco and chicken enchilada combo - Mexican Near Me - Bonners Ferry, Idaho

I was really looking forward to this place until I walked in. The hostess was incredibly rude. I couldn't hear what she was saying because the music was so loud, and when I asked her to repeat herself, she had a bad attitude. I regret not walking out right then. The food was a roller coaster ride. Their salsa was good, but their chips were stale. I ordered the Chile Colorado, which is one of their specialties. It was tough and totally lacking in flavor. The beans and rice were good. 2 1/2 stars bumped up to three because my server did a good job, and the place was clean. read more

Good food... arroz con Pollo was delicious.... great service also. In and out quickly

Food was very good. But service was lacking because they were so busy I assume. It took quite a while to get our order placed. As for the ambiance, it was a standard Mexican restaurant atmosphere. read more

PROS: Clean, Friendly. CONS: Not everything is homemade. Chips are warm, but from a bag. Margaritas are the pre-made type. Same with the salsa and tortillas. Iced tea is from the fountain soda gin, not fresh brewed. Overall food was okay. read more

There was a line to get in before it was open and as soon as we sat down people poured in... no wonder!! I grew up with authentic Mexican food and have a hard time finding good Mexican food up north.. but this place nailed it. Service was fast even during the rush and everyone loved their meals. 10/10 read more

Stopped in here, in search of a soft taco. Also ordered a chile relleno. Both were super good. They gave me a version of pico de gallo that I'd never had before, with cabbage and just yum. Now I need to go back for some more of that!! Service was quite good, with a kind smile. The decor was authentic and inviting. read more

We live in Sandpoint and to be honest, have not been excited about our options for Mexican food. It was a wonderful surprise to stumble upon this place while we were in town for a football game. We walked into the restaurant, and it got very busy, but the staff handled everything graciously and our food still came out quickly. The service was excellent, and we will be coming read more

Poor service...waiter pointed to table and tossed menu on table..bad start. Only the salsa has flavor...chili verde base is celery & bellpepper( NO roasted peppers, etc). Waiter said if I wanted it spicier that I should add hot sauce!!!! He said NO ONE IN IDAHO LIKES SPICY MEXICAN FOOD!! What???? Also ...Pollo carnitas is just wrong(pork only...pollo is chicken, carnitas is pork!!!) Plate was sooooooo hot also. U could tell the beans were under the hot lamp way toooo long. Waiter said that I was "bagging on him!"- well, u should be able to take food criticism! Also, margarita is as is....u cannot add any more alcohol... comes pre-made! Will not be back...sad..good location In historic downtown. read more

I have never been compelled to write a bad review until today. Our server was the most rude person that I have ever seen in the restaurant business. After serving the food he just ignored us. We had to hunt him down to order additional drinks. I certainly hope he was just having a bad day but if not, I hope he doesn't treat other customers so badly. The food was good, so kudos to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately we will not be returning. read more

Cute restaurant with nice decor on a fun street. The young man who took our take out order (I think he's the owner's son) was SO nice and friendly! The five stars is for him! The portions are large and your meal is a good value. The food is pretty bland and could use an authentic Mexican kick. read more

Holy cow!! Great Mexican food served by good people. Arroz con polo was out of this world. I had the chicken Mexican style (stew) and I would gladly get it again! Service was fast and friendly. Portions are very large. We WILL RETURN!! read more

Debit card fees are regulated by the Durbin Amendment, which is part of the 2010 Dodd-Frank legislation. Under this law, regulated banks (i.e., those with more than $10 billion in assets) are limited to charging no more than 0.05% +$0.21 ($0.22 if fraud is suspected) per debit card transaction. This limitation applies equally to both card-present and online transactions. While smaller financial institutions are exempt from these limitations, market pressure generally keeps them from charging significantly higher debit card transaction fees. So I'd say adding 4% to the check for debit cards is probably excessive. 5 stars for food and service, 0 stars for management decisions read more

Such delicious food and tasty. The crew is always so friendly. The tacos are so good along with the rest of the menu.

Being from Colorado we definitely know our Mexican food. We were so hoping for something yummy. I had called a few days ago regarding gluten-free options and I'm assuming the owner/operator was who I spoke with. He was very knowledgeable. He let me know that the chips aren't fried in a dedicated fryer so if I was sensitive to avoid them.:.the food was very good and very large portions. We have a mixture of allergies as well as lifestyle choices & they had something for everyone including gluten-free drinks. We will definitely be back. read more

Hidden gem I won't be forgetting about. Happy and satiated with amazing food. What a treat during a long day and night of driving.

Good American Mexican food, they immediately great you with chips, salsa and pico de Gallo, the food isn't extremely traditional by any means, but delicious none the less and a staple classic in bonners Food: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Cleanliness: 3/5 Location: 4.8/5 Fast: 3/5 read more

This restaurant really wants to be an above par but sadly does not meet standards for exemplary Mexican food. Their margaritas are very good! My tacos were ground beef (yes, like the kind you get at Taco Bell.) Their serving sizes are appropriate but considering it is in a small town in Northern Idaho it is a mediocre place to eat at. read more

I had the supreme burrito with steak and the food was pretty good. The pricing on the menu stated 12.50, but I was charged 17.50 since I ordered the steak. There was no mention of surplus on the menu or when I ordered with the server. read more

Beautiful interior, nice hosts & Great food. We had a large family gathering & called ahead..Table was ready. Very family oriented.

I was recently in Bonners Ferry this past weekend for a wedding; As we were planning and rushing around doing last minute things for the special day, we completely forgot about food for everyone!! At 7:30 on a Friday night, Mi Pueblo came through! We spoke with Matt who was MORE than accommodating - he whipped everything together in such a short period of time - for 20 people mind you! Best enchiladas I've EVER had; I've seen some of the reviews on here and they strike me as quite ridiculous, as I've traveled around the world and have eaten real food from Mexico; This place is amazing! To put all of that together at a moments notice with a smile was so great ANNDD he also let us keep all the chafing dishes overnight as we didn't know how long we would be eating our meal! Five stars folks - we are still talking about how GOOD the food was back here in Massachusetts-Thank you! read more
