Definitely the best physical therapy for pelvic floor in Orange County. Had severe tailbone pain after playing professional volleyball, which radiated through a nerve to the pelvic floor. Update for review #726 Perhaps if you had taken my phone calls and requests in the first place, we could have rectified the situation. I was with your former Pilates instructor, who obviously has moved on. I hope that you take this into consideration for the next customer as your Pilates was not up to standards, sadly. Having my review removed when I get zero compensation for posting is pathetic. I wrote this review to help others. They take insurance for some appointments and then will suddenly stop and not tell you. I have a good PPO. If you aren't going to take insurance, be up front with people. They were no better than UCI. Also, I booked a private beginner Pilates session with a kind instructor and was next to a young man with a very loud instructor. It was absolutely horrible. My instructor had to move us to a tiny room and of course they limited the equipment. The whole experience was sadly not good in the end. Not worth it. Now that I have been to two other places, I know how much this physical therapy/pilates is worth and this is definitely not it. I did try to follow up to resolve both the insurance and Pilates issue and was ignored. This place doesn't care about your well being. They only care about the money whether you pay out of pocket or not, sadly. I expect more for over $100 a class, wouldn't you? read more

I self referred to Sarton PT early in 2024 and worked with Alexa and Christina for my pelvic floor issue. Both had an area of expertise - a two-prong approach that worked well for me. Symptoms lessened and confidence grew with each visit. Both were extremely knowledgeable and professional (more than my primary care doctor and a non specializing gynecologist), and I was able to start my education and healing journey long before the months wait to see a urogynecologist (an excellent reference from Alexa). This practice will promise you a superbill and that you will be reimbursed, but we weren't. We have one of the best insurance PPO plans in the country sponsored by a very large and well known tech company... I've already met our deductible for the year, I know how to submit claims and they've ALWAYS reimbursed us every single time within a few weeks. We see many out of network providers and NEVER had any issues. This provider is the only exception. They are not registered in insurance systems as a known provider and refuse to provide a W9 which is necessary to be registered. This is not an insurance company problem, this is a provider problem. read more

Where to start? I am an avid endurance athlete and had a severe hip-flexor/glute issue...It was disrupting not only activities that I love, but basic day-to day activities (like walking). I was attending a sports PT and getting regular acupuncture and sports massages. After several months and no real pain relief or solution, my acupuncturist referred Sarton PT and suggested what I was experiencing was a pelvic floor issue. My reaction was an ignorant one. If you're looking for top of the line pelvic care, search no further. I've been to 6 other pelvic floor PTs across 12 years and I wish I just started here. Pelvic pain is a complex issue and Dr. Sarton and her team work cohesively together to find what's driving the pain and take a multipronged approach by also referring me to doctors who can investigate to get other causes of the pain related to hormones and inflammation. I rotate between two PTs Alexa and Nikki who specialize in different areas to help get me the best care possible who work both with the pelvic floor and my overall orthopedic needs that may be driving the pain. They also have redcord equipment to help patients correct movement patterns that may be driving their referred pain. Dr. Sarton is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about what she does and co-treats at request with the amazing therapists there. I'll admit. I was skeptical when I was prescribed PT for my pelvic floor muscles. Who knew those four muscles could misfire and cause trouble? I asked some of my friendly doctor friends, and they confirmed it was legitimate and worth a shot. Today, if someone asks me if they should to PFPT, I tell them to go for it. Thanks to the work of Mandy and Faith over the course of a couple months, I have regained control without medication. I know better when my body is telling me the truth and when it's fibbing thanks to their help, insight, and teaching. Plus, they gave me exercises I can use to reset my posture, strengthen my core correctly, and relieve muscle tightness that affects body functions. It's not an inexpensive proposition, but worth it in the long run. Surely, it is more cost effective and healthier in the long run than being on medication. Give it a go -- so to speak. read more

I had a great experience with Dr Christina Yu. I was referred to Sarton by my urogynecologist after removal of a bartholin cyst and gland. When I first started seeing her I was having intense pain. She treated me for vaginal, rectal and abdominal pain. She began every session by asking how I was feeling and where I was having pain. She used models to explain how she would treat me. At the end of each session she would demonstrate and correct exercises for me to do until I saw her again. After eight months of therapy I no longer had pain. Such a relief to be pain free. I've been seeking intensive physical therapy out of town treatments with Sarton for a couple years now, every few months and I have nothing but amazing words! These group of women are so inspirational, as their passion is driven by their personal stories to help others. I felt so seen and understood. I have pudendal neuralgia and pelvic floor dysfunction mostly from some fertility treatments. It has very much helped my pain without triggering much symptoms or being uncomfortable, which is incredible! I actually find I get needed relief even during sessions. I literally went through two local PT's who unfortunately made me worse, so I readily gave up on the idea PT could even help me. I just needed the right center and feel so lucky to be an hour flight away!! As some people fly across the globe to go here. It's no wonder why..., they have such an incredible team of warm and strong women with specialties in different areas, are so gentle, kind and competent in what they do. On September of last year, I woke up in the middle of the night with intense pain radiating throughout my groin/pelvis area as well as testicle pain and an electric radiating pain shooting down my leg. It lasted a couple hours and left me feeling confused and distressed as why it was happening to me since I did not do anything to cause it. I went to urgent care the next day because I thought it had something to do with my testicles since they were radiating pain, but the doctor did not find anything unusual in the tests that he did. The following months I made a couple of doctor's appointments and each time they just gave me medicine to reduce stress or just referred me to a urologist. I spent some more months stressed out, in pain and depressed on wondering what was wrong with my body. One day I decided to google the muscle groups in that area as well as my symptoms. I came across various sites talking about the pelvic floor, so I used that as my main research term. I ended up finding Sartons pelvichealing website and decided to take a look. My doctor recommended I get some pelvic therapy for some issues I was having and put in the referral for Sarton Physical Therapy. Right from the beginning, they were easy to work with and very friendly. Their office is welcoming and intimate. My therapist, Nikki, was absolutely the best!! Her friendly nature immediately put me at ease, and she was extremely detailed and thorough in helping me to feel comfortable and confident in the exercises. Over the course of my therapy sessions, she educated me on every aspect of her prescribed treatment program. She taught me how to engage my muscles and worked to help me strengthen them with very targeted exercises. Although the office is small, it had plenty of equipment to get me to the point where I was strong enough and mentally prepared enough to continue the journey on my own. I came in for C-section scar mobilization (healing the scar area and making sure scar tissue didn't form). I started at 8 weeks pp but they said I could have started even sooner. I also wanted to prevent a keloid scar from forming since this happened during my first c-section. We were able to accomplish all of this over the course of a few months. JoJo not only heals physically but also heals with her words. She taught me more about my body than any doctor has. She believes in a whole approach to healing, so during our sessions I would learn how to breathe in a way that my nervous system could heal my own body. I cannot speak highly enough of JoJo. I looked forward to our sessions and generally feel like I'm leaving PT with more self-confidence and self-love than when I had started. I started a course of 10 treatments with Sarton due to a rectocele and cystocele prolapse. When I started, I was suffering with loss of sensation, lack of bladder control, and other pelvic issues. By my 8th session I was at full strength and had recovered most of my function. They gave me plenty of exercises to continue my therapy at home, which was very helpful. If you are suffering with pelvic issues, (google pelvic organ prolapse to see if you show any symptoms) I recommend you to book an appointment with the lovely therapists here. Becky at Sarton PT in Tustin is the most passionate, professional, thorough, thoughtful, prepared, dedicated, and caring physical therapist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I suffer from fairly severe DRA (5 fingers wide is typically the worst; mine is four fingers), and had tried to treat it before. I was at the point where I thought surgery was the only option, but figured I would give PT one last try and go to Sarton (based on a recommendation by a friend). Becky changed my life. We worked together 3x week over just three weeks in December 2019 (before I had to leave and move back to Chicago). I lost 3 inches of the distension around my waist, gained strength throughout my core, back, and pelvic floor, and generally just started to feel like my body was functioning properly again. I am incredibly happy that I decided to go to Sarton Physical therapy after I gave birth. I bought their postpartum package, which is such a good deal ($395 for 3 visits plus a complimentary massage!). I saw Jojo who is so knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable. I was referred by my UCI urologist to try pelvic floor therapy for prostatitis. I called Sarton and I was told I would be contacted by someone. Didn't hear from them for about a week so I called back. The first thing I was told was that they do not take Medicare. This is odd since of course many prostate problems occur with older men. I was doing some research online and found Sarton through a website. I booked my appointment with JoJo and cannot express how thankful I am to have her in my life. Not only is she helping to fix my scar tissue from my C section but is also helping me fix my diastasis recti. I have gone to 2 appointments so far with her and I can already see a huge difference. My scar is less red and tender and my stomach looks less bloated. JoJo has been teaching me how to correct my diastasis recti by deep breathing techniques and proper core activation (which I was lacking) when exercising. She gave me a handout on stretches that would help and that I could incorporate in my workout routine. Also, how to rub my C section scar and skin roll the area above it to improve its appearance. I wish I had come to Sarton while I was pregnant or soon after having my daughter. I highly recommend them. Everyone is so nice and friendly. read more

SHORT STORY: Excellent! FULL STORY: The Sarton Physical Therapy team offers a truly holistic approach to patient's health and wellness. Though this is a "Pelvic Floor" physical therapy office, I believe the Sarton team sees each person as the sum of ALL their parts-not just the pelvis. They even recognize Mind/Body/Spirit, for those who find the integration of it all to be of benefit. I do! :) I found Sarton PT after a random landscaping injury had thrown my pelvis (and a lot of other skeletal and muscular bits) out of whack, which led to some major muscle imbalances, incapacitating pain, and confusing and heartbreaking symptoms. I chose Sherine Aubert. as my PT and I am so happy I did. She treated me with so much respect and kindness, and was excellent with reassuring me as well as educating me on how to care for myself as I learned to navigate life throughout my healing process. As my treatments progressed, I became familiar with other PTs at Sarton and everyone I have encountered has come across as someone who believes that helping each patient is a truly collaborative process - where the patient is as important as the rest of the team. Sarton is not only a team of Physical Therapists specializing in the Pelvic Floor; they also respect and encourage the integration of complimentary alternative modalities such as Yoga, Pilates, Massage Therapy, Guided Imagery (A big shout-out to Rhona Jordan who provided Guided Imagery, "table-side," during one of the most therapeutic and productive PT sessions! :D ), and Acupuncture. To start of, Sarton Physical Therapy is amazing. The type of therapy that is offered here is very rare to find. So finding this place is like finding the hidden treasure. I've been a patient here for almost a year. I've been diagnosed with endo. and during my years of suffering it has caused some pelvic floor issues. With all the suffering I didn't believe anyone or anything could help me. Well, I see Physical Therapist, Becky Paulson. This woman is truly amazing at what she does. I can see that she loves her job; and she shows it perfectly during every session. I can tell she truly cares about my health, physically and mentally. She's easy and fun to talk to. She is always giving me guidance and advice on how to take care of myself at home. I could truly say that she saved me from a lot of pain and discomfort. I have struggled with chronic pelvic pain for just over 3 years. When my doctor first recommended pelvic physical therapy, the first thought I had was, "they're going to do what to me?" I avoided the idea of pelvic physical therapy for an entire year due to my fears. Sarton PT is THE BEST in Southern California and I promise you it would be a HUGE mistake to go anywhere else. I have been working with Julie and her other therapist for 2 years. christina's changed my life!! i'm so grateful beyond words for my experience and healing journey here. i've been seeing christina for the last 6 months, during which time i had endometriosis removal surgery, my surgeon dr iris orbuch recommended this office and emphasized how important it was. my life revolved around my periods and 3 weeks out of the month were unbearable, i had what i called "satan cramps" on the first day of my periods which were the most painful thing i've experienced in my life. but besides the surgery itself, PT has made the biggest impact on my pain management and health. christina goes above and beyond and her kindness, empathy and attention to detail make her truly amazing at what she does. she also makes everything funny and lighthearted so it doesn't feel so serious which i really appreciate. she literally learned and remembers my pain patterns throughout the month and having someone care and work with me to help improve it means so much after a lifetime of having pain dismissed by others since it was "just a period". i didn't even know what a pelvic floor was before coming here and i've learned so much. So many issues i was having like headaches, tension in my neck and shoulders, bad posture, shallow breathing, having to pee every 30 minutes, a weak core, digestive issues and more were all related to my pelvic floor/endo and have all been either eliminated or almost gone over time. although i got the endo removed all of those symptoms wouldn't have gone away on their own without the work that's been done here. getting the surgery was one of the most stressful and hardest things i've done but having sessions every week made me feel like i wasn't alone and gave me a lot of peace of mind. thank you so much i'm forever thankful read more
