We stopped the Sarku in Willowbrook's food court to get some dinner. It's a corner store for take outs only. But there are lots tables available to sit in the common area. Alongside the popular teriyakis, they also had a sushi station. We put in orders for couple of chicken and shrimp teriyakis. The price was similar to other locations. The order was ready in a minute as they already a bunch of chicken already cooked. One of the fastest service I ever had at a Sarku. Usually, when I order here, their food is phenomenal. However, today, my experience made me come to realize, I should speak up. The customer service is terrible. The workers laughed at me for being polite. Then went to talk shit in their language as I'm right there waiting for my drink. We got the chicken teriyaki both times and the staff were all friendly. They asked if we wanted extra sauce and when we asked to have 3 scoops of the sauce, they were accommodating! The chicken teriyaki is just such a classic and tastes a lot better when you get extra sauce so it can be mixed in with the rice and vegetables as well. Have been coming to SARKU JAPAN in the Willowbrook food court for ages! It's a quick service restaurant chain. Always enjoy the different teriyaki dishes. Yesterday's Beef and Shrimp Teryaki was $10.49. Totally worth it!!! Sarku does have daily food specials. In addition, Sarku offers various beverages. My fav is the Snapple Peach Ice Tea! Sarku offers bento boxes, tempura and sushi rolls. Since COVID, a plastic partition completely surrounds the service area. When you come to Sarku Japan in the willowbrook mall, it can get really busy and have long lines. On the right side on the cash register is where they cook hibachi, the food portions are huge. You could definitely spilt a meal. When i want to eat something light i go for the sushi. The left side of the cash register is where you wait for the sushi order . I usually go a for special roll because they have more flavor than the tuna roll that they make there. I recommend the red bull or rainbow roll. One thing of cooking on iron is that the grease are routinely scrapped and removed from the surface after each batch. The cook appearingly was not happy about so much disgusting grease on the collection tray. He used the cooking spatula to clean the tray and made it shining again. nothing is wrong here until he went back use the same spatula to stir fry the chicken. It is a vomiting scene. Yum! Always a go-to stop while at the Willowbrook Mall. Pretty consistent with their food for the most part. I always seem to get the same thing- chicken teriyaki with noodles instead of rice and no vegetables. Tip: Always ask for extra sauce when they finish making yours- definitely worth it! Service is the same as they do at every location which I am not happy but the food is delicious. Among all other food shops in the mall this was the one with huge lines. They have enough staff, to prepare food, to take your order and sometimes one of them stand outside and gives you free samples of their teriyaki chicken. This is my boyfriend's favorite food court eatery. The prices are decent, the food is cooked to order, and they usually have samples if you are unsure but can't go wrong with the chicken teriyaki. The way they line up the boxes of food and the cooks speak fast sometimes it's hard to understand them. It's a bit hectic at busy times, but I get they are trying to get through as many customers as possible. It's a good idea to ask for a little extra sauce. I happened to be in the mall, decided to get Japanese food. So I got chicken teriyaki with noodles, my husband and daughter got the same but with rice. We ordered 3 drinks as well. The order came to 32 dollars and change, so when the guy handed us the drinks the Snapple was warm, so we asked him for a cup. He was giving us a small styrofoam cup with ice, I asked him if we could please have a bigger cup, to which he replied that will cost you 50 cents, I said buddy are you serious? I just spent 33 dollars here and you have the nerve to even think about charging me for a cup(keep in mind) we also bought 3 drinks. After going back and forth over the cup he finally gave me the bigger cup. All in all same problem when we asked for alittle extra sauce on the chicken.
