I'm super happy with Sarku and how close it is to my house. Who doesn't love some cheap sushi?? They have some fun roll options. I usually stick to the basics when coming here for obvious reasons. They've been here long enough to judge them fairly, the workers are much better now. They're fast and friendly. I've gotten a bento box before and while it's good I still enjoy the sushi better. It's good when I'm in a rush and just want something quick for dinner. Not to mention, cheap! It's a big restaurant, lots of seating. I love that it's always clean, they definitely maintain it well for how busy they get. They have tons of sauce options too. The only drawback to this location is the parking lot. Anytime after 4pm on weekdays and all day weekends it's a madhouse! I would definitely just park farther away and be safer. There's some crazy drivers in this area. read more

I saw the storefront for Sarku Japan at Kearny Plaza and became immediately interested since I usually only see these inside food courts. I ordered the shrimp teriyaki combo-- you can choose between water or soda, and spring roll vs dumpling vs Cali roll. FYI-- inside dining is still not open as of 4/24/21. I saw a bunch of 5 star reviews and also some 1 star reviews so really didn't know what to expect but trust when I say that it's extremely underwhelming. They don't actually cook the protein with the sauce, and the little container of teriyaki sauce was bland and not flavorful enough to balance out the unseasoned noodles or boiled cabbage/broccoli medley. If it was cooked in sauce like the marketing photos I bet it would taste better. read more

Decent/Good service here I was here since somewhere in 2019 and I used to get chicken with teriyaki I went in here with my mom, sister and brother and this service was decent we got our food and there's different types of cokes like cherry coke and we tasted the food and we kinda liked it and since 2020 we never really went in here that much. read more

I used to really like going here. Yes, I know its not a traditional Sushi place and is very "franchisee and mainstream" to appeal to the masses, but I didn't mind. It was easy, delicious and quick! My biggest issue is 9 months ago or so, they stopped making "ready to order sushi" and completely changed their sizing. The rolls and sushi pieces were essentially cut in half at the same price. They now have "happy hour" where they serve their leftover prep-packaged rolls for 50% off after 7. Honestly, unless you're going after 7, I would avoid. I'm assuming this change was due to cost-cutting measures, however, the only thing it has done is made me stop going 3 times a week to "maybe once every 3 months". read more

This location is new and one of the better Sarku Japans out there. Big windows let in natural light and there's lots of seating. You have ample parking because it's located inside the new Kearny Plaza. The service is fast and the food is prepared well. Good spot for fast hibachi eats and sushi rolls! read more

I've only ever ordered for delivery here. Mostly everything is fine, except for the inconsistencies in their bubble tea. Sometimes the tapioca would be SEVERELY undercooked. There needs to be some sort of quality control for whatever comes out of the kitchen, whether it's for dine in, take out, or delivery customers. This is an issue because some of their drinks arent cheap, and once undercooked tapioca is in, there really is no taking it out. read more

First time here, this place just opened recently and offers great japanese food, thats served fast. The employees were friendly. I had the chicken teryaki which they are known for. As a first time customer I could not have been treated more poorly. When placing my order I was given attitude and was treated like an inconvenience when there wasn't even a line out the door. I was being rushed and given a snotty look just for the cashier to turn to the side and go on his phone once I was given the receipt. This is probably the best teriyaki you will ever have. They were closed since like mid-late March to July1st . Which sucked because I would eat there every single day. Great option in this strip mall. Prices are super reasonable and place is big, nice and clean. My fiance and I typically grab some sushi takeout here every other month or so. This is one of the better Sarkus I've had. Food tastes very fresh and there are nice sized portions. I love the yum yum sauce.
