Recently, we came back for a mini reunion and made Eberle a place where our party of 8 could relax, unwind, and reminisce of yesteryears while enjoying the beautiful views from the covered vineyard deck, and needless to say we absolutely had a blast! The tasting experience was still complimentary thanks to the blessed heart of Mr. Gary Eberle (thank you kind Sir), who also happened to grill up some delicious meats and smoked sausage that day (Santa Maria style), which was the perfect pairing to his wines. Special mention to Stephanie, who did an phenomenal job guiding us through the last cave tour of the day...and Mr. Eberle, she truly did your story justice (and then some!). WOW! We were buying wine for dinner and took Liz's suggestion and it was excellent. We also bought one of Jeff's wines. It was even better. Jeff, when we visited Justin we met Timothy. We told him about our experiences in Cambria and you. He said "you were the man" when you were the wine maker there and are largely responsible for their success. He said he wants to come visit to see you and try the wines you are making now. Hope he does soon.

He was one of the first Americans to train in Bordeaux, France and this is a rarity to find in a winemaker here in the States. Everywhere he goes he leaves a trail of highly rated, amazing wines in his wake. He and his wife, Sonya, are such wonderfully fun and kind people, you will feel like family when you're there. I can not recommend this place and the family behind the lable enough. But be careful, once you taste these wines, you will want to buy all of them.

I figured we would be seated but the tasting occured standing up at the bar, which was fine. The tastings were generous, and customizable. My friend decided to do a white tasting, and I did the standard tasting. It was pretty hot, so about halfway through the tasting, we sat down at a table in the shade and walked up for the rest of our tastings but by that time, a large group had come through so the server was busier but still managed to remember where we were in the tasting. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. When we were done with our tastings, we walked around the property to look at the sculptures and the grounds. I did buy a bottle of wine and picked it up inside where they had other items for sale from local vendors, including our server who makes soap with her goat's milk.

I hadn't visited since the week before everything shut down for COVID, and I'm happy to say it's just as great as I remembered. The vibe is cozy and understated, which is a big part of the charm. It doesn't feel overly commercialized or like they're rushing people in and out; there's a real sense of care behind the experience. The wines are excellent, and the pricing feels very fair, especially since nothing about the experience feels over the top or pretentious. We came on a last-minute trip and weren't able to get a reservation online, but they were kind enough to accommodate us as walk-ins. We spent about an hour there, enjoyed the tasting, and ended up buying a few bottles. We'll definitely be back soon, and I'd love to join the wine club once we start drinking more wine. Highly recommend, just really good quality all around.

Granted they were closing in an hour but it literally felt like we were a bother the host. As she made it feel like a table was going to be hard to get. Within 15 minutes we were seated at a table meant for 6? It was just me and my wife a party of 2. Place was not busy at all maybe 4 outdoor tables were being used. So all that energy spent on how difficult it was to get a table this late in the game should have just welcomed us in. Even the entry bar had just 2 people seated. We didn't care for the wine so we won't be back.
