The history alone is enough to get you through the door, but the wine is what keeps you there. Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

I liked all five wines on the tasting menu, including the rosé, which is new for me because I don't usually love rosés. I ended up getting another glass of the Barbera after we finished the tasting. Beautiful view from their deck. We caught the tail end of their cave tour, which always fun. Overall a really lovely wine experience.

Our tasting guide definitely knew her stuff and I appreciated all the time she's put in with Sculpterra! I loved how they grew pistachios too and have them for purchase to enjoy with your wine. All the sculptures are so unique and interesting. You could even find details of iron work in the bathroom! Very cool. The outdoor area was beautiful and it was fun to check out the big photos and play some bocce pall. The breeze and weather and ambiance were all great, it was a perfect first stop upon arrival in Paso for the weekend!

The grounds are gorgeous, the sculptures throughout the property are genuinely impressive, and the music and scene were a great backdrop. The wine itself seemed perfectly decent. But the experience on the ground was bad enough that none of that mattered by the time we left. We didn't have a reservation, that's on us. But the website says reservations are recommended, not required, so we figured we'd try anyway. From the moment we walked in, it was clear we weren't wanted. The hostess hustled us into a side room, then walked off, at which point a server immediately told me -- not pleasantly -- that I was standing in the wrong place. When I asked about a few wines I was interested in, I was met with a clear lack of interest, capped off by being rudely told to just get a glass of muscat, like the suggestion was as much about getting rid of me as it was a recommendation. So that's what we did, and then we left. We tasted at several other wineries in Paso Robles that day and had wonderful experiences at every one of them. Staff who were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to have us, reservation or not. Sculpterra was the only stop where we walked away having spent next to nothing, and it's the only place on the entire trip we'll never go back to, no matter how nice the grounds are. Beautiful property, but the people working the floor that day made it clear they didn't want our business, so we obliged.

Our waitress (?) didn't share her name but she was very knowledgeable about the winemaker and the wines and quickly shared what she knew before we had to ask. All the wines were lovely. We would def recommend.

We are the type of members who always take great care of the staff and rarely leave without purchasing extra bottles, yet today we were treated like an inconvenience. Despite being told in the past that spontaneous visits were no problem for members, we were turned away on a gloomy Monday with plenty of open tables. The host at the entrance was incredibly dismissive and wouldn't even let us finish our sentence before cutting us off. We were told our only options were to come back in an hour, a "limited" tasting, drive all the way downtown, or just pick up our shipment and leave. We asked for the Wine Club Manager to resolve the situation, but she wasn't on-site. To be offered a "partial" tasting as a favor after nearly ten years of support was the final straw. It feels as though they now prioritize "closing" new members over honoring the people who have supported them for years. They've gone mainstream and lost the personal touch that made them special.

The place is very busy. We opted for a wine tasting with lunch. They offered 5 wines and proper tasting pours. When we were seated, water was quickly served and we ordered their House-made Sourdough Focaccia which was served with lavender butter and lavender salt. That was very tasty - the lavender butter and salt worked well with the bread. My wife ordered the Duck Confit and I ordered the Bucatini Pasta which featured Mighty Cap Mushrooms. The sauce was very rich and flavorful. The pasta was cooked properly, and the mushrooms were just so good. The Duck Confit was similar - the duck leg was cooked properly, and worked great with the Heirloom tomatos and plum, all of which sat on a wild rice salad. You can skip the wine tasting and order drinks or wine off the menu if you want. Take a moment to walk around the grounds, look up at the ceiling work. They do not offer complimentary bread service. Bread is on the menu - House made sourdough focaccia with lavender butter. It was so good, totally worth the price. Slight crisp on the outside, spongy interior, but chewy from the sourdough gluten. Hint of sweet in the background. Butter is light and aromatic. This amazing dish is just the bread. Roasted Chicken was tender with a light sauce. Pasta with mushroom sounds simple but it was yummy and perfect. For wine tasting, they offered a complimentary welcome taste of Pino Rose, light and refreshing. The tasting had 4 wines, my favorite was the 2022 Reserve Chardonnay. It was buttery and smooth. The building, scenery of the vineyard hills, and the flower garden were all beautiful.
