Sara's boutique is outstanding! She has impeccable taste. She helped me accessorize for a formal winter wedding and made me feel extremely beautiful! The quality of her clothing makes them staple pieces that I will have for years! read more

Sara has the cutest boutique in Chicago! Every item in her store is so unique and well made! If I'm ever looking for a showstopping piece, she is my go-to! Wonderful owner and employees- and great, honest fashion advice :) read more

My 19-year-old daughter and I stopped in Sara Jane's on our all-too-infrequent visit to the city. When we came across this adorable shop, we were instantly drawn in. We loved the variety of clothes, bags and jewelry, among other trendy items. The shop reminded me of the unique boutiques in California. My daughter who lives in San Diego was in strong agreement. The best part was interacting with Sara, the owner, who was helpful, fun, and so friendly. I left with an awesome pair of pants and only regret not having bought a purse I kept eyeing. Oh well--it looks like I'll have to go back there soon for another purchase! read more

I'm in full agreement with all of the reviews- this store is the bomb! They carry the cutest clothing at very expensive prices, but I have gotten some great deals here. The owner also sends out coupons all the time to people on her mailing list so that helps a lot. Even if you do pay full price for the clothing here it's worth it! read more

This place has some nice pieces of jewelry at very reasonable prices! Their necklaces are fabulous and you don't have to spend a fortune to get unique and chic design. The clothes are also nice but you do need to pay a premium for. The atmosphere is very friendly and I'm never pressured to buy anything. read more

Have walked by often but decided to go in yesterday, very happy I did so! Sales friend was fun and knowledgable, walked out with a Xmas present and a thanksgiving outfit for me and a very timely pair of warm gloves! Thank you, I'll be back read more

Very cute boutique! They email me all the time about sales they are having and I try to go there a lot to see what they have in that's new and cute. Very unique items and they have great bags, and cute belts. I got this belt with a huge buckle with crushed flowers in the buckle- it sounds weird but I really like it. This is a place you have to go often to though because sometimes when you find something you want they don't have your size. read more

I recently stopped by this store and loved the merchandise. I actually got a great dress on sale that I will get alot of use out of. The owner was also extremely friendly and helpful. I could see myself going back here for unique items and for any parties that might come up. Its a little expensive like most boutiques in Chicago, but I found great stuff on sale. read more

I love this boutique. I drive by it every day when I drive my daughter to school. The windows keep luring me in. The staff manages that wonderful balance of leaving me alone, and offering me suggestions. They are not pushy - yay! Last time in I didn't even notice the dress that I ended up buying when I looked around. It was the sales woman who saw what I was trying on, and my style, who suggested it too me. I like stores that carry a variety of styles and product lines. At Sara Jane I can find clothes that work with my look and body type. Most items are typical boutique prices. I'd say $50-150. Of course a few items are more like the $200 dress that I'll wear to death. read more

I absolutely love this store time and time again. They are always getting great new seasonal pieces and the jewelry is fun and affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful but never pushy (which is a big deal to me). I happen to work down the street and love stopping in when I have time. The owner is particularly helpful and knowledgeable about the products, and always makes me feel welcome. I will keep going back and suggest you do too! (also a great place to pick up a gift for a friend!) read more

My daughter-in-law and I came upon Sara Jane over the weekend. We were in town from Detroit to visit family. WE FELL IN LOVE!!! The store has something for everyone; all ages. The prices are reasonable. And we loved that we wouldn't see anyone wearing our finds. Sara is smart, sassy and has an incredible style/fashion sense. We will definitely be back. In fact, we look forward to it! read more

Been going to Sara Jane since she opened years ago! Great shop for the neighborhood! Very cute clothes (and accessories)at reasonable prices Service is always fantastic! Thank you Sara! read more

This was my first Well's Street Art Fair and my first time in Sara Jane's. Sara Jane's was a saving grace this past weekend and a great find. What a godsend. The weather warmed up much more than expected! Sara was offering complimentary air conditioning :-) and 20% off the entire store. I was able to grab a cami at a great price and get a wee respite from the heat. The woman that helped me was hysterical and gave me a great laugh. I loved the service and the offer of something cold to drink. Considering how crowded the store was I thought the offer was a nice attention to detail (namely my needs at the moment). Clearly, I was a little too hot (i.e. too gross) to try on outfits however, I liked what I saw. I'll definitely be back, not only because I liked the merchandise but because I also enjoyed the banter with the staff. read more

This is an amazing store that I have been shopping at for almost 9 years. Sara stocks unique items that you won't find at others places. I find whenever I clean out my closet I always keep my Sara Jane clothes because they never go out of style. The owner is super helpful and sweet! read more

I attended an after hours shopping event here last week that my friend bid on through a charity. Whenever I attend events like this, I always plan to purchase something in support of the store or business. I ended up finding a gray sweater with faux leather and had to have it, purchase price was $125, great! The thing that I didn't enjoy about this experience was the attitude and unpleasant comments made by the owner throughout the event. When several ladies that didn't purchase items went to retrieve their coats from behind the register, the owner said "You didn't find anything?" in a condescending tone and also told my friend checking out "Nobody shopped." There were roughly 20 ladies in attendance and about 8 purchased items large and small during the event (6:30-8:00 pm). I'd say that's pretty good for an after hours event that you donated to a charity, so I'm not sure what all the rude undertones and comments were about. We were just a group of women, celebrating our friend's birthday, and looking forward to checking out what appeared to be a great boutique. Overall, the tone of this place did not make for a fun or comfortable evening. I love my sweater, but will not be supporting someone that treats customers like this. read more

This boutique is amazing!!! Let's just say, I've never yelped before but had to in order to tell others about this great boutique. I discovered Sara Jane just before Summer and fell in love. Everything is so cute and reasonably priced. Plus, they have a really good sale rack. My last shopping experience there was unbelievable! The sales associate helped me find several nice pieces for Fall. She took her time with me and helped me decide on the pieces that I would really need versus just trying to sell me everything in the store (which is easy to do because everything in there is great!) Did I mention I received top notch, first class service? Since I wandered in the shop while my bicycle was getting serviced next door, I really didn't have an intention of buying clothes because I wouldn't have a way to bring the merchandise home on my bike. Well, the owner and associate offered to steam my purchases and deliver them to my home! Not only did I get great service while in the store, they went well beyond my expectations! I've been telling all of my friends about this place. If you are looking for something nice, versatile, trendy, and different; you have to check out Sara Jane. It's one of my favorites in Chicago!!!!! read more

So we made our annual pilgrimage to Chicago for Cards-Cub series and now that trip always has to also include a trip to Sara Jane! Great clothes, great service ~ fun atmosphere...and LOVING the new dress today that I just bought on Friday! read more

Cute, cute, cute! I love the clothing selection, prices weren't outrageous, and the employees were helpful. I'll be back soon.

Awesome quality, great unique items and fun atmosphere! I love getting a few great pieces each season to update my wardrobe. Tons of complements and "where did you get that", can't wait to go back! read more

Sara Jane's is my absolute favorite place to shop in Chicago, not only because of the unique and stylish clothes but also because of the experience. Sara and the entire staff are so helpful and make you feel great every time you're there. I would highly rate Sara Jane's! read more

This store is awesome!!!! I think it's a hit everytime I'm there. I have found so many different items at reasonable prices. Their dresses are amazing, the jewelry is fantastic (I think I am almost always wearing a piece from there), tops are outstanding, and I now own my favorite pair of jeans that I have only found there(anoname). I cannot say enough about this store. It is definitely high fashion at reasonable prices. If you are looking for an outfit for a night out, casual chic, or whatever...look no further, cause you'll find something here. read more

Sara Jane is by far one of my favorite boutiques in Chicago. The quality of the clothes is exceptional and price point is reasonable. I no longer live in Chicago but I make it a point to visit Sara Jane everytime in town. The owner is a pleasure to work with, she has a great since of style and remembers me by name each time I come in. This type of personal attention is always greatly appreciated. Not only does she remember me but she also remembers my "personal style" and always has the perfect suggestions as soon as I walk in the door. It's fantastic to see a woman owned business not only surviving but thriving in today's economy. I personally enjoy buying pieces thar haven't been purchased from a chain store so I never have to worry about walking into a room and seeing someone in my outfit. If you live in or visit Chicago you will be missing out if you don't stop into Sara Jane !! read more

Pro - i got a cute dress here. its worth a look. its on a great street for shopping/eating.. Cons - i feel like i got a bit lucky as the selection wasn't that big for LBDs (little black dresses) i agree with the review below about the owner.. i've been to other places on the street with moe selection and better prices. read more

This is every girls dream store, from the elegant and well priced accessories to the top brands in womans fashion...I love this store and as a professional shopper will be bopping in regularly to give all my clients the low down...the owner, this adorable, perky woman with a wicked sense of fashion is a straight shooter, she truly wants you to walk out with the things that flatter you most... I can't wait to see what Sara Jane brings in for Fall & Holiday!!! Thanks to my friend Laura for turning me onto this gem in Old Town!!! Shame on me for not finding it sooner.. PS. she has great sales too, get hooked up with her email list! read more

Sara Jane is a Chicago staple in terms of a successful, small business that brings a refreshing selection of quality women's clothes at great prices. Over the years, I have had friends from various cities that make it a point to shop at Sara Jane while they are in Chicago, as they too enjoy working with Sara the owner and love all of her great lines & items she carries in her store. Sara has a natural talent of knowing all of her customers, their needs and what they value most. She consistently contributes to her local business community through various charitable donations and involvement. Every neighborhood in Chicago should be so lucky to have a great local business bringing light & laughter to their residents. Make Sara Jane your go-to for quality and fashionable staple pieces at great prices. read more

This review is LONG overdue but I needed some time to cool off after the incident. What began as a fun shopping experience months ago, QUICKLY changed to a VERY negative experience overall. I expressed some discontentment with the quality of the dress that was purchased for me as the dress didn't hold up well after washing it ONE time. The issue was resolved; HOWEVER, the lack of professionalism that was displayed during the encounter left a terrible taste in my mouth to the point that I will NEVER shop here again. When there is an issue with a customer, don't make it personal; keep it between you and that customer. Don't harass the customer's brother who walks his dog by your store or discuss the issue with your family member who also happens to be a friend of that customer. This type of behavior does NOTHING for customer service. Additionally, when that customer returns to the store to resolve the matter (AT YOUR ENCOURAGMENT/SUGGESTION), the absolute LAST thing that customer wants to see is you (as the owner of the establishment) roll your eyes when she walks in. What happened to delivering service with a smile? WOW, all the best to you in your future transactions and encounters. I'm sure you'll be DELIGHTED to know that I won't come back to your store again. read more

Yet another encounter with the exceptionally rude staff. Door was propped wide open so I went in. Since the lights we're off i asked one of the women who was moving boxes around if they were open. she literally scowled at me like i was the enemy and said "no". More often than not it's just super negative and unfriendly in there. I love their stuff but have to mentally prepare for the negative experience every time. read more

By far my favorite boutique in the Gold Coast/Old Town neighborhoods! The women who work there are fantastic, and their clothes/jewelry/handbags are all at fair price points. They're always updating their stock, and you can't go there without being offered a glass of wine, coffee, or something else fantastic. Their sales are amazing, and it's just an overall fun place to shop. Love supporting Sara Jane! read more

I was visiting, & looked in the window, & walked in. Cool Store.... Loved it, & they were so helpful in helping me find a dress for a special event I was in town for. I cant wait to go back to Chicago so I can shop there again. read more

I had a good shopping day today. After a friend told me about Sara Jane, I decided to stop by and see what she was raving about. They have some really unique pieces - trendy, but not too trendy where you can't wear it past one season. The sales people are very helpful - one of the ladies picked out a few things that she thought would look good on me and my body type. I would have never picked those pieces out myself because she was telling me that they look much different when you try it on vs. looking at it on the hanger. I came out with a couple of really interesting sweaters. One is really versatile, and I could dress it up or dress it down. The other one is a cool greyish-blue color that you don't usually see. I'm glad that I stopped by. The best part is that they are doing a promotion where if you spend more than $125 (I think that was the amount), you get a $25 gift card in the mail. I'm down for that! They also said that they are always getting different inventory, so there is new merchandise all the time. Sara Jane will now be on my boutique shopping rotation! read more

I just discovered this Old Town boutique. A friend told me about it, otherwise I never would have known about it. I walked out with a dress, top & jewelry. I know I'll get lots of wear from the items. The clothes are mid priced and it was nice to see brands that you don't find in every other boutique on Southport or Armitage. Lots of jewelery ina variety of styles that is very well priced. Super helpful employee made great suggestions as to what would look good on me. I can't wait to go back & shop there again. read more

Amazing selection of dresses! If you want to get ready for the warm weather by buying colorful and flattering spring/summer dresses, this is the place to go. Lots of colors, fabrics and styles - and a good price point. Generally on the casual side, although I did snag one great dress for work. Owner is really nice, and I found more during an hour at the store than I did all day shopping at other places! Can't wait to go back when they get their new shipments in. read more

I love shopping here! I will definitely be going here for a few of my spring items. She has the best price range and I can always find something great no matter what my budget is. First time I walked into Sara Jane I thought her cute boutique would never have anything for my pear shaped build! I was wrong! Sara personally helped me pick out the trendiest clothes. What I loved most was her utter honesty - she has never sold me anything she genuinely does not believe fits or looks good. I am now a loyal customer. I will be eternally grateful to Sara. To me, she is not just in the business of fashion. She is selling self worth! At my weight, she gives me a keen sense of confidence - I love fashion and now feel I can fit into "boutique" clothes! Her clothes are admired world over as I travel and now some of my colleagues and friends are Sara converts. I will always shop at Sara Jane... read more
