I really, really want to give this place more stars and we eat here alot because the food is very good. Best tasting than most hibachi places. As I have read reviews I am NOT the only one that feels they need to change a few things. They need to move into a different location where the ambiance would be better suited. The bathrooms are very nasty and the colors scheme is not good. There are alot of items on shelves that are very tacky and it looks like a storage area. Customers should not be able to see this stuff! They seem to be overwhelmed; as they are very busy, so please hire more staff! I hope they make some changes, as I would like to continue to keep eating here, but I am re-thinking! read more

If I could give it no stars I would. As a party of three we had sushi this evening, the tuna and the salmon were far below sushi grade and inedible . The sashimi and nigiri were very sub par, very very very fishy tasting. The anger roll was ok but when you cover the c grade fish with other flavors you don't notice the sub sushi grade fish. My salmon had a few dark spots along with the foul flavor. The hibachi might be great but we'll never be back to find out. read more

It seems we had a different (better) experience than others have posted lately. This was probably some of the better hibachi I've had, and I've lived several different places. They were a tad slow, but it was worth it. Our chef did two tables and still did the volcano, zucchini catching, etc. Well done! read more

I try not to be negative about local/small businesses but these people need to get it together. The food is decent but their service is so mind numbingly awful that we hate going here. We tried to place a simple order for two chicken teriyaki bento boxes. I repeated it twice. The woman taking the order said 15 minutes, which is all I could understand. 30 minutes later my husband goes in to get our order and it still isn't ready and we're running late. Then two shrimp boxes come out. The woman insisted that this is what we ordered and even after us telling her we were running late she thought it'd be okay to just change the order and wait another 15-20 minutes so we left. This was our attempt to give them a second chance. Previous to this they tried to massively overcharge us and wouldn't adjust the check to what they initially said it would be. Came here for dinner with my husband and 3 kids to have the hibachi on a Sunday night. Not long wait but the cook was not very entertaining. Did only 2-3 tricks then was very boring afterwards. He was also cooking for the table next to us which we have never seen before. We are from Florida and always go to Kobe or Benihana. The price of the steak and lobster entree was around the same price we pay which is okay (not too expensive) but considering the lack of enthusiasm from the cook, we give this place 2 stars and probably would not come back. read more

We visited last night for dinner and were very under whelmed. We had a group of 6 people and sat at the Hibachi grill. Our orders were not made correctly, ordered chicken and steak and never got the steak. The chicken was over cooked and very dry and so was the rice. The sushi was good, not great. ROACH! We will never return to this restaurant. My family decided to visit this restaurant for lunch yesterday. We were seated in the booth area of the sushi bar. Sat down for two minutes and my wife sees a ROACH crawling on the booth about to go in her purse . We let the waiter know and she immediately grabbed a napkin to kill/catch the Roach. She looked surprised and seemed apologetic. As we left management clearly knew something happened and looked the other way rather than addressing the situation. This was my first Hibachi experience and I'm fairly certain I won't be going back to another. The atmosphere is weird... They seat you around complete strangers all at one bar. I have a small baby and they wanted me to place her car seat on top of a high chair. I'm sorry, but I prefer either a sling or a chair. There wasn't enough room for a chair really so I had to hold her the most of the time. I thought their meals were expensive for chicken and rice but you do get a lot of food. The salad is covered in their house-made "special sauce" which, to me, was awful! It tasted like thousand island and it drenched the lettuce and tomato mixed salad. Then comes soup! It has to be better! It looks like broth with mushrooms floating and tastes like nothin but salt water. Like I suppose other hibachi restaurants are, they cook the food in front of you on a grill. The food is covered in oil, salt, vinegar, and some other sauce that was white. I personally wasn't impressed. The workers were super kind though and when I brought my barely touched meal home to my husband, he enjoyed it. So I'm giving three stars for the hospitality and with a mindset that it just probably wasn't my cup of tea. All of the strangers at my table seemed to really enjoy it. read more

Food is great. Servers are rude. I had a woman argue with me over seating arrangements. I understand they want to fill up the seats ,however it was lunch time and there wasn't but a few other people in the restaurant. I didn't feel I needed to be side by side another family. Am I a complete expert on sushi? No. Have I had over 100 sushi experiences in the past 20 years all over the United States? Yes. I am surprised this place is still in business. With the massive Toyota manufacturing campus just a mile down the road I would imagine a better sushi experience than this would exist in Georgetown. But no. The slices of fish on the nigiri were almost see-through they were so thin. The managers and wait-staff were speaking Chinese, not Japanese. My girlfriend had frantic diarrhea within two hours of eating here and was in tears with embarassment, having "treated" me to dinner here as a way of thanks for my having bought our previous several dinners out. If you want the middlin' "hog trough" hibachi experience with the same old tired choreography and jokes that you'll find from California to Maine then you'll find the same cookie-cutter experience here. You probably also order "Kobe" steak and ask for it well done. If you want even average sushi, sashimi, or bento boxes you're going to have to drive the half-hour to Lexington where there are several very good options operated by actual Japanese owners. I suggest finding Sugano on Eastland Parkway (in Lexington) and settling in for an authentic and delicious experience which is not much more expensive than here. read more

Sapporo easily has the best sushi in Central Kentucky. Great staff, well-versed in their cuisine, and terrific food all around. The koi pond in the center of the restaurant is great for the kids and the overall ambiance. Can't say enough about the staff or their food. read more

We had lunch there yesterday and it is STILL our favorite restaurant in Georgetown! We choose to sit at one of the tables near the entrance, as you get more on your plate versus sitting at the hibachi grill. Our server was a little slow yesterday, but we weren't in any hurry so it didn't bother us at all. The food here is, and has always been, delicious! We have never had anything to complain about during our 40+ visits here since they opened. We highly recommend eating here! read more

Only 3 stars for 1 reason, the chef! Good food but the hibachi chef treated the us, from out of town, far differently than the locals. We come into town every year for the Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event and decided to try a new place for dinner. We were seated with locals at the hibachi, a family of 4 - no big deal; however, he gave extra food to the family at our table - loading their plates and the children's plates with food - our plates looked bare in comparison. What really got me was when he gave some of the shrimp we ordered to them (they didn't order shrimp). It was obvious they knew the chef and maybe he knew they needed extra food - who knows. After the eating the meal, the family of 4 at our table took 5 large carry out boxes home of all the "extras" they were given - completely ridiculous! Plenty of food & by no means did we leave hungry but it was so obvious we were being treated differently. They got food I paid for!! I will probably give it a second chance because the food was good but will make sure I'm seated with other 'out of towners' like myself. The rest of the staff was excellent. read more

The food is good here. Priced a bit on the high side but still not too bad. Staff is hit or miss. Sometimes it is great service other times it is poor with staff disagreements in front of customers. For birthdays they bang on a loud drum which is really annoying. read more

We went to Sapporo for a Father's Day treat for my husband. He typically is not one to splurge on food but he wanted Japanese hibachi and our 3 kids have never had the experience before. We thought it would be fun and built it up to them on the way. Sadly, even though the restaurant was not that busy, the 5 of us were seated on the opposite side of a party that had already been seated and served their drinks and salads/soups. When the chef came out, he proceeded to cook our food on the opposite grill, the one in front of them, not the one directly in front of us. Mind you, you are charged less for the exact same food if you sit at a regular table. So essentially, we paid hibachi price and got to watch the backside of the chef cook our food in front of a group of strangers and then turn around to sling it onto our plates. The kids were bummed and so were my husband and I. We felt as though we were an afterthought. The waitress was so so...not overly friendly but she did bring our drinks and soups as expected. When it was time to pay, we were so disappointed with our service that we considered not even tipping considering we were overcharged for something we did not receive, but did reluctantly leave a few dollars. The waitress just stared at us like she expected us to give more. Not a thank you. Nothing. We will not be back. Terrible service. read more
