In brief: we hired John last year for a full landscape project, and it turned out horribly. John was essentially never present during the installation, and it quickly became clear that his workers had no idea what had actually been agreed on in the plans. Plants were substituted without any discussion, and several existing bushes that were specifically supposed to stay were ripped out and never replaced. They even tried to dig up Agave from another section of my yard, replant them elsewhere, and still charge me for the price of "new" plants. After everything went sideways, I could not get a hold of John to address the issues. Eventually I left a 1-star review out of sheer frustration. Only after I posted the review did he respond--saying he would only come out to look at the problems if I took the review down. Wanting my yard fixed, I obliged. John came out, saw the condition of the yard, and even acknowledged that the plants Kelly Green installed looked nothing like the original plan and that he didn't know why they were all dying. We agreed that his company would return to make things right. Then...nothing. Weeks went by with no contact. After multiple prompts from me, he finally sent a "proposal" to fix the yard--one that included over $4,000 in labor, even though we had already paid once and the work was not delivered correctly the first time. I told him I was willing to pay for the cost of new plants, but I did not feel I should pay labor again for his company's mistakes. He said he would revisit the numbers, but again, after weeks and multiple follow-ups, he never responded. I ultimately hired a different company to fix the project--at less than half of what Kelly Green tried to charge me just for labor alone. For reference, John apparently thought it was reasonable to charge $65 to plant a single 5-gallon plant. I acknowledge that Kelly Green has many positive reviews, and those were the reason we hired him in the first place. I truly don't know why our experience was so dramatically different. But based on what we went through, I cannot recommend this company. In my experience, they did not stand by their work, they did not deliver what was agreed upon, and they were unresponsive when asked to address clear mistakes. Proceed with extreme caution.

Not only could he do every single thing, his price was better than we expected. From the first day he came to the house, until the last day he and his crew worked, they have been simply THE BEST! They work hard, they show up 6 days a week, and say "yes" to everything we ask of them. Pedro is a great resource and will give his ideas about things if we are confused or unsure. We came across an issue with our gas line, and thought we were at a dead end, needing to wait for months for SDG&E to come, but Pedro thought of a great bypass solution and was able to pull it off without changing any of the original design we wanted or the project timeline. Pedro showed up at our house several times a week to check on his team, and worked himself on parts of our project alongside his team. It was time to upgrade our gross 1980's shower and cheap vanity from the previous house flip. We turned to MOST Construction of Carlsbad for full design and remodel construction services and they did not disappoint! From the early scoping, contracting and through the design process, Pernille and Morten were very professional and understanding of our vision. The contracting process was very detailed to ensure all work was accounted for, and Pernille provided numerous design drawings for us to work with. Being our first bathroom remodel, we were unaware of the amount of planning and subcontractors that would be involved. Along the way, MOST provided recommendations for vendors with the experience to match our vision. Construction began with a minor hiccup when a small leak occurred in the subfloor below the shower, but this was due to an existing hole in our drain pipe. This was no fault to MOST construction, but Morten promptly mitigated this and repaired the minor drywall damage. Talk about great service! From thereon everything was a breeze! Their workers were courteous and showed up on time each day and kept the workspace as clean as possible. Their tile tradesman Sal is a true artisan! Following the framing and hotmop of the shower pan, Sal built a traditional mortar bed tile job with custom niches and gorgeous bordering. He took his time to make sure the end product was flawless, and I appreciate that level of skill. Pernille coordinated with the Countertop Company of San Marcos to have the vanity and shower dam slab cut and installed. We handled the glasswork (shower door, backlit mirror) ourselves with Cast Glass Images of San Marcos. Everything went smoothly with drywall, electrical and finish plumbing installation. In the end, MOST Construction was a pleasure to work with. They are a team of true professionals and they will be my go-to general contractor for quotes on my next major remodeling job!
