Businesses are people as are we and rarely are we ever entirely bad or entirely good. I've found as I've aged, I've become more highly sensitized to how I'm treated and how legitimately good the service has been. But rather than post negative reviews about a bad experience, I'll choose henceforth to limit my radiant appraisals to those truly deserving enterprises out there. After all, we who check Yelp looking for which business to patronize seek those out - they who've risen to the top or at least are striving to do so. So that Admin celebration day I'd searched from Lodi to Hackensack and one wretched faux flower shop to the next seemed to cast a pall of doom over my benevolent mission. Then from those depths, I reached the Heights. As I got approached the entrance, I said out loud to no one "here's a flower shoppe!" You must bear in mind the last I'd come from tried asking me flowers, despite the fact she had no flowers. She asked me to "visualize"... It if anything, flowers are life - the here and now beauty of what shall be lost to time. They not so much celebrate as reaffirm: it's a wonderful world. Europeans daily festoon their homes with bulbs and blossoms. The entire entrance is e tracing as flowers seem to explode all around the little iron bench and front door frame. As you enter, you realize this is an old building preserved as a business but without having lost the intimate feel of its prior abode. The owner is gregarious md exacting and with a team of perhaps five assistants. A few regular locals stopped by. The two arrangements for two wondrous hard working assistants who've made my life far better for their hard work were to be red and white. As I waited, I wandered about seeing all manner of curious curios and humorous nicknacks. I asked if upstairs was a part of the shoppe. Why yes it was I was assured but first I should call out "Beth someone coming!" Up the creaky old stairs I climbed and lost my bravery when I saw shoes and personal effects outside the third floor door. No i was informed - that is a private apartment but not the second floor. So here's what you need to know. For arrangements I paid $50 a piece for, I was given well arranged, tastefully displayed and brilliant bursts of color and life. Proud I was indeed to see the real reviews from smiling woman after woman (men typically aren't aesthetes, sadly) in the huge office building I was in. All could see a thing of natural but for what it was: a reminder of what this world is. What's it's always been. What it'll continue to be: a garden for growth and appreciation. Go to the Heights!

Every arrangement from church, to bouquets, to reception, were absolutely immaculate. We could not have dreamt up a more perfect job. To top it off, Gerard is one of the nicest guys around. I had to have it! I Dm"d her and she responded immediately. She shared that she purchased them because she knew many weren't traveling. She want to bring a touch of the tropical island to them. ( she had me at tropical) I requested more from her next market visit. During the visit she sent me photos of what was available and how to arrange them.. ( that's great customer service.) During both purchases she offered delivery but I wanted to visit the store. When I arrived on my second visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Amy and browsing her amazing stem bar. I purchased three bouquets that were wrap in black tissue paper and tied with satin ribbon. Amy offers quality, unique flowers at a reasonable price.

No arrangement or design at all (see photo of the pink tulip "arrangement" right after delivery). It was my friend's 30th birthday and since I couldn't be there with her, I wanted to send her some really great flowers. After seeing Spruce as one of the top-rated florists (and with Sam P's glowing review!), I decided to give it a go. I was thrilled that I could order online (rather than have to explain to someone what I was looking for) - I ordered my friend white roses in a crate (which looked great on the site). And, honestly, the price wasn't too bad, especially considering how much a crappy bouquet can cost on other websites. Also, they don't have exorbitant shipping and handling fees - delivery is free for most of Manhattan! I ordered weeks in advance and was concerned that the order might get lost. On the day the flowers were supposed to arrive, I called the florist just to confirm that they arrived. Spruce said they had an issue delivering the flowers because she doesn't live at a doorman building. Sad, but I understand that they want to make sure that she is there, though I didn't want to ruin the surprise. I managed to work things out with her husband so that he could get the florist to deliver at a time when he would be home; yay! The next day, Spruce called to confirm that the delivery went through. And she loved them!
