They are easy to reach, always polite, they answer the phone, return phone calls, send appointment reminders, and confirm appointments. Beyond the administrative, their team is very skilled, does an impeccable job, and as a bonus they are so physically gentle with how they execute their work. But what I really want people to know is what my first experience at their office was like, see below. Before Dr. Santoro I had always had severe anxiety when it came to going to the dentist, so bad that I had not been in three years before his office. When I finally worked up the courage to find an office, I decided to try Dr. Santoro and their office team changed my life. When I went in for an exam I was so overwhelmed I began sobbing in the chair after my examination. Dr. Santoro and his team showed me so much compassion in this moment and instead of this being an embarrassing and traumatizing event it became a life milestone for me. They reassured me, comforted me, and gave me time before patiently walking me through my next steps. They gave me a copy of my plan to take home and the office manager Elsa worked with me to schedule my appointments. Elsa simplified everything for me so I could understand my insurance coverage and actually typed out what I'd be responsible for financially. I called Dr. Santoro's office outside of office hours because I had a broken filling that needed to be fixed before I left the country and left a voicemail - his assistant/office manager called me back immediately to get my appointment scheduled for the next available workday. I just recently went to Dr. Santoro for two crowns and a filling. He and his staff did an excellent job all through the way. I was really impressed with how attentive they were to keeping everything clean for the patient, how skilled his assistants and hygienists were, his bedside manner, and how nice and up to date his office is. Since I had been there last, they now have a portable x-ray unit for their digital x-rays, new chairs, new TVs in each room, text messages for appointment confirmation and reminders, and just recently redesigned their logo. I do not live in Pasadena and there are many dentists much closer to me than Dr. Santoro's location. However, I would rather travel to get the dental care I trust. Unlike many other very competent but busy doctors, Dr. Santoro is very informative and takes as much time as necessary to clarify issues and concerns for his patients. When it comes to more complicated cases, Dr. Santoro provides different options and explains each advantages and disadvantages until you are completely comfortable in your decision. I believe Dr. Santoro really puts his patients' welfare first. I complimented Dr. Santoro repeatedly for giving me the best shots - I hate needles but no one does it better than Dr. Santoro. Several other reviewers mentioned his staff of friendly front desk staff and oral hygienists. I think they are very well trained to be proactive in patient care.
