This Santiago's bums me out - there are much better Santi's locations elsewhere (the one on S Leetsdale is great, for example)! This location is so hit-or-miss (usually "miss" when it comes to breakfast). I've ordered *mild* breakfast burritos several times and they almost always give me at least one spicy burrito instead. My last takeout order contained only really spicy ones - despite me ordering a much different heat level. I haven't had this issue at other Santiago's locations. I called the restaurant to try to get it fixed since it's happened repeatedly and no one called me back. Two stars for the friendly cashiers. I'd skip the Santa Fe location. read more

When I ordered mine with bacon, I was told the "meat of the day" was German sausage and I'd have to pay extra for anything different. Fine. Then they handed me only one burrito instead of the two I ordered. When I questioned why my total was around $9 for one burrito, they admitted their website prices weren't updated and basically shrugged it off--no apology, no concern that I'd made the trip based on inaccurate pricing. They kept insisting they'd done me a favor by not charging me extra for the bacon. To top it off, the eggs in the burrito were dry and the bacon was burnt. If your website can't be trusted and your staff doesn't care, it's hard to recommend eating here, so don't. read more

I have such a positive association with Santiago's because of all my friends that hyped it up for months before I finally got to try one of their burritos. I've gotten it plain, filled, and smothered. My favorite is the carne asada burrito filled with green chile. Made the mistake of getting plain once, and it was one of the driest things I've ever tasted. Customer service is decent. There's usually seating (and always parking) that's open, but I'll often take my food to-go. I always seem to miss the window for breakfast burritos (before 11am) which is notoriously one of the best items on the menu. Their horchata is average but commonly paired with whatever meal I get. 12/11/25 Preordered 21 Breakfast Burritos for my store to GIVE AWAY to Customers for Christmas. Usually do this about 3 times in Dec. They now charge 4% fee for credit cards and hide it. Another thing they dont show you is they add a 15% Gratuity to your bill you dont see. 21 Buritos @ 3.49 = 73.29 + tax 5.13 + 10.99 Tip = $89.41 " hmmm Not Shown " Total Jumps to 92.99. thats the $3.58 Double hidden fee. $14.57 I should NOT have to pay. Then to top it all off " you can see in the photo " They give you a receipt to sign that hides everything and ask for more of a tip while hiding the previous one. " i own a store around the corner And I dont charge no credit fee " Plus we give them free drinks and sometimes more for stopping in. So unless you ask for an Itemized receipt All you get is a credit reciept for 92.99 and the you still DONT see the fee or Automatic Tip. Im sorry but im NOT going to give you an $11 tip for me picking up my food. Your teaching these young people in you store this is Normal. that is Bad. you earn your tip, I dont give you extra so you can reduce your wages. We love Santiagos and Johnstown. It may make it so easy to call and order and pick up within about 15 minutes. We were so disappointed when we realized they were adding a 20% tip to our Colin orders. We have no idea when this started, but on the receipt, it says the suggested tip amounts are provided for your convenience. Not that they're going to get 20% of your bill for taking a phone call. If we were in the restaurant and they were actually providing service, we would happily give them 20% or more. I wanted to reach out to the owner, but after searching Google, there was no way to give feedback so I am doing it this way instead. They clearly switched up who was working in the kitchen the random morning we returned because the burritos we got last time we're just really something and made by the generous green chile guy. He was working the register this time. Trust me. I don't forget a face that is talented. The person who made our burritos this time needs to be put in burrito jail. When I tried to order, the owner, who clearly hadn't showered in months, could not figure out how to use his own cash register. When I complained, I was told, with expletives, to shut up and wait. Breakfast burritos are cheap and delicious, and always served hot up until like 11 am. The vibe inside is laid back Mexican restaurant with walk up counter and area to sit and eat if you want, although I prefer to grab my burritos and run. The servers are kind and mostly bilingual in Spanish and English and do a dang good job at taking a large amount of orders and running the front of house. This location has gone so far downhill. The last three times I have ordered have been disasters. They have a new POS system that clearly no one has been trained adequately on. As was the case today, the front counter staff would do well to handle customers instead of flirting with one another. There were two orders before mine that were incorrect because of the staff not paying attention. My order took well over 20 minutes with multiple large orders being called in front of mine. The only reason my order took 20 minutes and not longer was because I complained and a different front counter employee went back to the kitchen to get it. My taquitos were over done and lacked filling. Top that off with tipping suggested at 18% as a minimum?? No way. Don't get me wrong, I worked in food service, I know when tips are earned, and this definitely ain't it. Skip these guys and go to Illegal Pete's instead. You won't regret it. read more

This location in particular is just the absolute worst at order accuracy. I'm tired of paying for extras and not getting them with my meal - or items that are part of the meal just not there. No salsa for my hard tacos, no guacamole with my street tacos meal, sour cream in my breakfast burrito (that I did not ask for) are just a few of the latest mishaps. I ordered an egg, potato, and cheese burrito one time and the cashier rang it up as a complete special burrito and even charged me $2.00+ for the cheese. A $4 menu item burrito came out to about $7. WTH??? The fact that it happens so often to my orders is just laughable. And when I call to explain, I am talked back to with rudeness after being put on hold for 3-5 minutes. This location was amazing about 5-6 years ago... now it's just a place where the employees have no passion at all. It's the summer of Covid-19 and so sadly a part of each review will have to take that into account. And in that department this location of Santiago's loses out because their take-out system's not what it should be. You can order on-line, but when and if they're busy they won't let you pay on-line and they use common pens where they make you sign the receipt after they take your card and swipe it themselves. Then you stand in a snaking line and run face-to-face into other customers who are waiting for their order or are leaving the restaurant. Not a good or safe system. As importantly their breakfast burrito (deluxe / smothered) wasn't anywhere near as substantial as the version they serve at their Leetsdale location. Searched long and hard for any egg and or pork in the dish. Spice level was fine as was the green chile but the lack of a decent stuffing made it "good" but in no way special. I went ahead and ordered the burrito beef and bean smothered in Chile(hot) while my buddy ordered 2 Chile Renos with mild Chile. Orders dine in and probably waited maybe 5-6mins till our food arrived. My plate was really flavorful and the right amount of heat but careful I eat jalapeños like apples for those who are curious how hot I'd give it a 7 out of 10.
