Don't do it. Do not be seduced by the setting, which is beautiful. The facility has recently changed ownership, and caring, invested staff left right away. You or your loved one will not receive interest in their healing or care. It's a business. Absolutely inflexible to patient communication needs regarding family issues outside the facility. They were happy to let me walk down the road three miles home alone in the cold dark with suitcases (I am 53) when I had to leave because they refused to allow me to contact my family. Thankfully my husband arrived, but it was ok with staff for me to walk home. If you have family situations outside the facility, go elsewhere. Your concerns will not be met with kindness, which increases the patient's anxiety greatly. I DO NOT recommend this place. My son went in the summer of 2017 with a drug addiction. First of all... communication was horrible...phone tag for days! We also discovered our son was allowed to sleep in the first 2 weeks there, missing important meetings, group therapies ect!!! Second...my son stayed 30 days and relapsed 4 days out! He refused to go to IOP: Intensive Outpatient Therapy yet we were still billed for missed sessions & expected to pay for them! Third reason to avoid Sante: HIDDEN LAB FEES!!! Sante partners with Lab-Corp and we were billed over $8,000 in lab work! This fee is exorbitant I know because my son ended up in a sober home in Denton: Solutions of North Texas and they charged us $60 for drug test! We fought with Sante & Lab-Corp for months to reduce the outrageous bills in addition to an already expensive failed rehab!!! We were completely blindsided by the lab fees!! My son did find sobriety at Denton Freedom House in Aubrey, Texas!!! Praise God!!! This is a home for men and is a non-profit organization. Addiction is a symptom of an underlying malady which is multi-layered and usually a spiritual malady. I am so grateful to Denton Freedom House! I DO NOT recommend Sante Center for Healing!!! I checked in to Sante in March 2016 with alcohol being my issue. How I ended up with that issue is because: 1. A mentor committed suicide 2. A lawsuit that ended my career that not only alleges fraud, but conspiracy, public corruption among other things - my mentor killed himself because he couldn't beat these people. In summary, I am a Qui Tam Relator (every Qui Tam Relator is a Whistleblower, but not every Whistleblower is a Qui Tam Relator - what differentiates the 2 is a Federal Lawsuit that's filed under seal (which means you can't acknowledge it exists) in Federal court). I resigned from this company in May 2013, and by the time I got hired in a relative field and income, it was December 2015. I was too far into my addiction to stop on my own, and ended up at Sante. Since my case was under seal until October 2017, I couldn't elaborate on why I was there. When I was evaluating Sante, I explained to the lady as we walked around that my employer required weekly updates on my diagnosis and progress. She told me that they do that for others and it was not problem. So, I signed up. At the end of 28 days, I wasn't ready to face the world yet so I stayed longer and Sante financed it. The first issue arose when they denied me medical treatment to have blood removed. I store iron and have to donate blood frequently and they wouldn't let me go donate. So, I walked home (I lived close) and they came to pick me up as well as to Carter Blood Care to donate blood. Low and behold, it came to my attention that my case manager HAD NOT been filing the reports with my employer. So I decided to check myself out and try to salvage my job. But, since the updates had not been received my employer considered it "Job Abandonment" so I had no job when I left, add to which I now owed Sante a few thousand dollars. Does anyone know how hard it is for a Whistleblower to find a job? Let alone a $100K+ job?? Next, I was lucky to find contract work but come 2019 it dried up. So I started looking for funds to survive, and took a Prospectus I wrote to folks I knew and Sante. After all, had they done the updates I'd have already paid them back. Maybe they'd like to invest and earn a 20% return, right? Long story short, Sante turned me over to their collections company. So, not only did they not give the updates which resulted in my job loss, they wouldn't invest in the Prospectus, COVID hit, mass unemployment, and they turn me over to collections. And that's not triggering to drink? I borrowed money from my family yesterday and offered 50% of what I owe. Thankfully they accepted it. Bottom line, it's a business that is For Profit. My experience is Sante doesn't care about the people, only the money. There is enough info here to find the Press Releases around the lawsuit. Look it up....I'm telling the truth. If you're facing an addiction, good luck in sobriety. It's a great thing. But there's better places than Sante to get help..... read more

Disgraceful. This place is a joke. I was a patient at this ridiculous excuse for a treatment center in January of this year. I am now suffering from PTSD as a result of my visit there. They don't care about healing- rather, they are a cult-like money making operation that is run like a military camp. The program is mostly a bunch of hollow 12 step meetings run by peers. The entire staff were demeaning and rude. (Dr. Pennington was the only person who seemed to actually care, but everyone else was pretty much a jerk or worse) No communication was allowed between me and my family for several days until I demanded they allow me to make calls. The food there SUCKS. They put on a show with their cheap salad bar- but their food is equivalent to that of a public junior high school- and so are the portions. What kind of "healing center" is completely oblivious to basic nutrition? A tiny sliver of Sysco lasagna for dinner and Aspertame drinks for $26,000.00 per month? Pathetic. From the minute I checked into the place they started to drill into me and my family that my treatment would need to be extended to 90 days- even though I was only amenable to 30 days because of finances and work commitments. Their model appears to be one that baits you in with a 30-day program and flips you to 90. I was horrified when my "Case Manager", Martha, lied to my family in an attempt to pin them against me. Very fortunately, my family knows that I don't lie and they didn't fall for it. But I have to wonder what happens to other families who might be more vulnerable? Even worse, Martha failed to acknowledge and act on a blatant conflict of interest after I discovered that she was a close friend of a mutual friend. The whole Sante experience was beyond bizarre. Miraculously, I was able to find REAL treatment at another facility--which further underscores what a total joke Sante is. I am sorry I chose Sante to begin with. And I feel truly sorry for anyone else who doesn't know better and gets stuck there. Furthermore, it's pretty sad--and telling--when a mental health treatment center like Sante gets their employees and therapists to write 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp to drown out the real reviews from past patients. Isn't it strange that a mental health facility has so many 5-star reviews from its employees? I guess if you're looking for a job, then those employee reviews might be helpful. But if you're suffering, in pain or crisis or addiction, and looking for quality treatment and healing, you would be best served to look elsewhere. My experience there was horrendous. read more

Horrible facility. They lied to me about the cost of treatment. Told me my insurance would cover treatment, and had me sign a contract that I would stay for at least 30 days. After 5 days, the finance lady pulled me out of treatment. She explained my insurance would pay nothing towards the cost of treatment, and they were going to hold me to the contract to stay for 30 days. So my choices were to self pay at $500/day, or hire an attorney to get out of the contract. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. Their web page boasts family support, as does their hold messages when you have to wait for them to find someone to talk to you. Make no mistake, if you are a family member or loved one hoping to participate in the healing- they will schedule visitations, which require taking two hour classes weekly, and family therapy session for three weeks at a time, but if your addict gets mad at you or triggered in there in any way, THEY WILL NOT COMMUNICATE WITH YOU TO NOT COME, EVEN IF THEY KNOW YOU LIVE 1,300 MILES AWAY. Not only that, but they will tell you you have to find your own resources after promising you the moon of support when you take the visitation classes- no matter how fragile you are. In a nut shell- they care most about the money brought in by the patient and could care less what happens to those who have been negatively affected by the patient's addiction. We decided on the place based on the Ticket and you better believe I will be reaching out to Norm and everyone else there about how horrible we were treated. This is not a nonprofit facility! The only reason I am giving this place one star is because the inpatient/residence program is the only thing that actually helped my son. It was what he needed at the time to save his life. After that, it was even more a financial nightmare. Do not place your loved one in this outpatient facility. You will be duped out of thousands of dollars. In sober living a drug test costs $20 and in the outpatient program it costs over $60. And they are tested nearly every day at either place. And God help you if you don't have insurance. In what world does a drug test cost $595.00? Be ready to pay $800 a day in residence. I needed to get my son's meds changed because all I kept hearing about was how he was still depressed so I asked if they could change them. Sure I could if I! I just needed to schedule an appointment with the psychiatrist there. His psychiatric care was covered by insurance while he was a resident, but now I needed to see another doctor that would cost $300 for the first visit. What do you mean the first visit? You have his case history right there! How can the same facility not have the same network providers? I ended up taking him to my family doctor to help him. I know my son is doing better now, but it is not because of that place. He felt defeated and depressed while he was in sober living. Not to mention they did not hold him accountable for getting a job until the last week and a half he was there. They then decided to lock him out of the apartment, or kick him out...with one week left. He stuck it out. If you have disposable income, then by all means this place may be for you. If not, seek out a nonprofit facility! I wish I would have known this before. I am still getting bills two months after my son left. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars. You would think the amount of money you spend here the facility would be nicer, especially the sober living. DO NOT go here if you are are a long-term, physically dependent benzodiazepine user (in my case 21 years). Physical dependence is not drug addiction. Sante will rip you off your benzo with 5 days of detox on valium which is akin to cold turkey. When you suddenly cannot sleep, eat and your blood pressure skyrockets they will try to take care of those problems with more medicine. The people were not uncaring, but obviously not knowledgeable about this population. The intake people I talked to many times should not have admitted me when I explained my situation. A slow, steady taper is what is needed and the 12 step model used at Sante does nothing for long term benzo users who were not abusing their prescriptions. We sent my family member at considerable cost to Sante. We dug deep to pay their high fees out of pocket as he had no insurance. We (and he) were told that there would be occasional drug screens, specifically after off-campus events, but the out of pocket cost would be $60-75 per screening. Upon returning he has received approximately 15 different bills from the lab, each seperate one averaging over $1300! The medical debt in addition to the tens of thousands already paid is over $20000! Contacting Sante for help has been worthless, the service lab is no help. And the stress from this going on his credit and a stack of 15+ bills about $1300 each EVERY MONTH has not helped the situation for our loved one or any of us. read more

I don't like to advertise this fact, but to illuminate what this place is like, it's worth it: I've been to several such facilities, and this is easily the worst (of a half-dozen or so) I spent time in. Their business model is being an option of last resort, for taking in 'hard cases,' and they therefore have a built-in explanation for why so absurdly many of their patients do poorly in the outside world, and require more (expensive) inpatient or on-campus treatment. In reality, they don't police their campus well at all - there were numerous instances of alcohol or drugs being brought into the facility while I was there, and the patients responsible were 'punished' with recommendations for longer stays, which endangered the other patients who were sincerely trying to recover. Top to bottom, every facet of their curriculum and processes seemed ill-conceived, malicious or ignorant. Yet somehow, despite a poor business model, an underwhelming staff, they fall ass-backwards into money constantly. I'm in the wrong line of work. read more

Make sure you know what they are charging you and keep close tabs on your signature release forms or they will fill in the dates for you. We had a credit on our account of $2,200 we were told would be refunded at the end of June. Now they state we aren't getting it because we didn't follow the 96 hour rule even though we did and it was confirmed by them we did. They have changed the paperwork. She still struggling from her addiction, but we can say without a doubt that the care she is receiving is far above the care she has received at previous rehab centers. We have had a terrible experience with this center. Our son needed rehabilitation services and the Center required $4800 be paid up front. After he left the program after only 2 sessions they refused to reimburse the balance. They will not answer the phone and they are only in it for the money!! I was the referring physician for the admission They never informed me of their diagnosis or medical result. In addition they spoke to individuals in my office breaking HIPPA standards. We are going to have to seek legal help. They have not returned call for over 4 months until today. They called, never apologized, nor offered to refund our 4800.00. They made excuses. Sante only cares about the money and could care less about the addict. My son was there for 12 days when they said insurance wouldn't approve residential or partial hospitalization. They charged me $600/day for the four days it took to get him back home. In addition to the $2400 they also charged me $2500 because he left before the 30 days was up. I think they told my insurance that my son was doing really well because they get more money if I pay out of pocket versus what they get from insurance. The sad part is that my son used drugs the day he got home so how could they say he was doing well...what a scam. read more

This place is misleading and will lie about you at all cost. I entered in the IOP program in June 2021. At first the place was welcoming and I will admit the location makes the facility soothing. However, after my second week in the IOP I realized it wasn't the right fit for me. Which I'm allowed to decide that. I continued for a couple of weeks but I always continue to see my therapist and psychiatrist outside of the program. Their reports on me are inconsistent with the professionals I have been seeing for over a year. They reported to my employer that I'm impulsive, resistant to medication and not compliant to the IOP by not connecting to the others. First, let me say this. I was not there for substance abuse but for PTSD and severe trauma that I have endured in my life. My 2nd week there my case manager didn't even know he was my case manager. The group I was assigned to was strictly about substance abuse. When I reported to my therapist and my employer how I was not comfortable there and want to leave the program. Santes reported lies about me and stated I have a drug problem. Daniel the therapist and case manager told me that if I didn't start taking in group that he would have to report that I wasn't trying to heal. Which was not true. With someone who has been through a great deal of trauma; it takes awhile to open up and try. The problem was, I couldn't connect or relate the group as I was not there for addictions. I made a complaint to my therapist outside of the facility and she tried to reach out the Director. When she finally was able to speak to Adam; he lied about me to her (which she already knew he was) and even hung up on her when she tried to speak more about me. I had to sign several forms multiple times for them to release documents of my treatment to her and yet they kept "losing" the forms. I can't speak about the benefits of going there for addictions but read the Google reviews as well. When I decided I was no longer going to continue treatment the last group session was discussed about how great Daniel is and if you have a problem with him to go to him and not to the higher ups. I felt like they reached out to the others within the group and basically was teaming up against me all because I felt I wasn't getting the treatment I needed for me. Their practice is unethical and I don't recommend going here for trauma/PTSD or any other mental health issues. They are NOT professionals for individuals like myself. Thankfully I kept my therapist and psychiatrist outside from that facility and they have been able to advocate on my behalf to prove that I'm capable of returning to work unlike Santes reporting I'm not stable to return and that I need drug screening!!! I will be sending a full and formal complaint to the state board. read more

My son was there for 30 days. We were told by the highest Sante authorities (both of them) that the premier therapist and co-owner would appear in court for him and would aggressively push for long term treatment option which we could manage financially but barely. A few days before the hearing Sr faculty and co-owner told us we had to pay them 40,000 up front non-refundable due before testimony and we no time to raise the money She canceled court appearance when the entire admissions interview was geared toward promised testimony and billing after further services after court for residential long term treatment. Freedom relied on the two top dogs showing up and honestly read his case file. Our lawyer called them and asked "WTF is going on in Texas?! All updates have been glowing. Your expertise is the whole shooting match. What went wrong? The woman replied, your client doesn't have 40k. We need two years paid before we save him from jail. Our lawyer got him out of there right away and back in time to interview independent MD used while there and got his case management file which was interpreted by really honest MD and PhD he worked with before during and after stay. They said he recovered INSPITE of the immoral and unethical misrepresented mission of the facility. He was given a lighter sentence than expected and once off probation he was told stay away from any place that uses money as a reason to show up as agreed and tell the truth as expected. This place is dark and does great harm to clients. They aren't patients. They are marks to them. A suffering person looks like dollar signs only and aren't above emotional blackmailing a broken family and allow a culture of greed to literally push a psychiatric patient to the edge. The organization is terrible. I was literally told by Robin, from intake admissions, that she only works with intake and has no idea about the financial piece. She never speaks to Kelly in the financial department. Although she must have, since she called Kelly to have her call me and Kelly was updated on the situation. But wait, Kelly wasn't very helpful either. Not willing to work out payment details- just a flat- We are a for profit organization so you need to pay up front. They are not willing to help work with insurance. Robin was "kind" enough to suggest I just wait until the patient become so critical and take her to the ER since they can't help. I had the worst imaginable experience at Sante. The therapist in charge of my case was extremely rude and manipulative in order to get me to stay longer. She cut me off from my family and friends, destroying my relationship with my parents. Some of the practices at Sante are very shady and money-oriented. The nursing staff and mental health technicians were extremely uneducated and even admitted to having limited training. As someone with mental illness (severe depression, anxiety and trauma), something most people with addictions suffer from, this place is NOT an appropriate setting. People relapsed here constantly because of the limited supervision during leisure times. Instead of sending someone to a bootcamp-type environment, I think people should go to a place with hospital licensing because there is more of a chance of supervision, medical knowledge, and healing. Sante deals with relapses in a condescending way, attempting to scare you out of relapsing. No real treatment here with real scientifically proven methods. I wouldn't even leave my dog here. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! As a former patient of 1 week I can testify to the fact that this place is NOT what they say it is. I literally had to call 911 to get care and get someone to get me out of there. They tried to keep my phone away from me so I could not call anyone to help me and so I would have to come back. They would not take me to the ER after begging for help for almost 20 hours of being in pain (I ended up having 2 bulging disk). They tried to convince my family that I should not leave and if they could not convince me to come back I would end up harming myself or someone else. They also tried to convince them I was addicted to drugs when I was not. I was there for Domestic Violence Trauma which they said they had a program for trauma only which they did not. It was all Chemical dependence based. I went in on 3 medications for my neck injuries and left on 10 drugs. That right there should be a red flag! Worst experience of my life!! I was sent for mental health help. They lied to my psychologist, as well as, myself and family. I never had an I take. They stole and lost my medicine! This facility's staff was caring from the very beginning. It was a stressful process to get my loved one to agree to go to treatment, so the Intake department was AWESOME at keeping in touch. Once my loved one admitted, the process was easy and communication was consistent after my name was added to the consents (which was tough, but my loved one was in a bad place and took awhile to allow family to know more of the truth). The inclusion of Family Therapy and the family night really helped heal our family and gave me a way better understanding of what she was going through. This is a longer-stay facility, so $ was a stretch but the financial folks worked with me to make it work. read more

Two years ago, I entered Santé for alcoholism via an intervention. The staff compassionately guided me husband through the intervention, and helped me face my pain and shame and begin the process of working through my issues utilizing aspects of the 12 Step Program. They held my story in a space of grace and gave me the courage to move from pain to empowerment so that I could once again find purpose and see the sacredness in the all of life. This place is horrible! As the previous review stated, they are high pressure and only concerned with taking your money. They act like the care about your problems until they get you to sign up then it's all about the money. My spouse was brought in and separated from me when we got there. I told them my spouse was not in the right frame of mind to sign any papers and I wanted to to be able to review them first. I only later found out they had her sign everything committing her to a $2500 early exit fee if you left before 30 days. They said our insurance would cover treatment but after 5 days of her being there I received a call saying insurance denied treatment. My option was to keep her there and pay $18,000 for one month treatment or check her out after 5 days and pay $6000 with the included $2500 early ck out fee. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE! There are plenty of other places that actually want to help people in need and don't only care about the money. read more
