I'd ask specifically - does this drug have x specific side effect and he'd reply "no". I'd then research and learn x was THE #1 side effect or worse, take the med and learn the hard way. Why not tell me the truth or did he not know? This happened multiple times. When I repeatedly could not tolerate the meds he prescribed (after paying lots of money, lots of appointments) he got irritated. Every time I'd ask a question the answer was the same "because you have _ diagnosis" which wasn't accurate and was a total blow-off answer. I wasted a lot of time and a whole lot of money with this guy. In the end, he really didn't care and didn't try to help. I'd get an RX I couldn't take, wait until the next appointment and then get the next bad RX- round and round it went. Just ridiculously awful. I repeat- initially you'll like him. If you don't respond well to the meds prescribed he gets very annoyed. He doesn't like questions and won't give you accurate answers. His assistant who runs the office is wonderful.

I've never written a review like this, but I feel an obligation to warn others…read more I was referred here by my PCP and was initially hopeful, but the intake process was one of the most traumatizing and unethical I've ever encountered in any medical setting, let alone psychiatry. The new patient packet is not fillable and contains dozens of deeply invasive, triggering, and inappropriately personal questions, including unnecessary trauma disclosures, gynecological information, and even targeted screening for borderline personality disorder before any relationship or assessment has occurred. For someone with schizoaffective disorder, addiction history, and PTSD, this was retraumatizing and made me feel like I was being filtered, not welcomed. To make things worse, their staff (especially Dee) was rude, passive-aggressive, and unhelpful. They refused to clarify the form or even respond to multiple calls and emails until the day before the form was due. I was left scrambling under emotional distress with zero support. The form also contains alarming disclaimers about substance use, threatening drug testing and care termination, with no mention of trauma-informed addiction treatment or ADA protections. When I voiced my concerns, I was completely ignored. No follow-up, no compassion, no attempt to understand the impact this had on me as a new patient asking for help. At best, this practice is outdated. At worst, it's discriminatory, ableist, and dangerously dismissive of complex mental health needs. If you are neurodivergent, have trauma, substance history, or are sensitive to psychiatric misdiagnosis, avoid this office. I canceled my appointment, and I'm glad I did.

Dr. Alan Trites - Beware…read more Where do I even begin? Dr. Trites was recommended by a former patient--but he could not help her. I went in cautiously optimistic, hoping he could help me. I had an initial visit, followed by a session with some of his neurological testing. Most I passed fine, some I did not. Blood work was ordered. I asked my primary care physician to review the tests; they had no concerns but suggested I clarify the purpose with Dr. Trites. That's when the unraveling began. I sent a polite email to Rachael, and the response I got was littered with spelling and grammatical errors. Soon after, I was discharged. I requested a refund, but the office manager (his wife) refused to respond. I left a detailed Google review warning others--but it seems to have vanished. Afterward, the office left a public review claiming I made them feel unsafe and bragged about how many doctors I've seen. None of that is true. I have a complicated medical case, and asking questions should not result in being dismissed, ignored, or accused of lying. If you are considering functional medicine, there are far better options. This complaint highlights Ms. Anita Henrichson's and Counseling for Healthy minds failure to report…read morea child in danger and illegal withholding of medical records. My 6 year old son began counseling sessions at the Counseling for Healthy Minds, Rockwall, TX, on or about the end of 2016 under the care of Ms. Anita Henrichson. Chronology of events. On May 30-31, 2017, my son told myself, his teacher, my parents, and CPS that the horrific bruises on his arm were caused by his mother. I went into Ms. Henrichson's office soon thereafter and told her it was imperative that we speak. She dismissively rolled her eyes at me and walked off. I left my phone number with the office manager Amy and asked for Anita to call me as soon as she could. She never did. On August 20, 2017, Ms. Henrichson, held a meeting with my sons mother & stepfather behind my back and suggested the two of them take my son to a neuro-specialist without ever consulting with me about this whatsoever. When I later asked if they had been meeting without my knowledge, she denied this, only did I find out a month later that she had. Ms. Henrichson falsely denied the meeting occurred. On December 4, 2017, I went into Ms. Henrichson's office and asked to speak with her for just a few minutes regarding something very important. I held up my cellular phone with a picture of bruises on my son's arm that were caused due to physical abuse that took place in his mother's custody. My son stated to us that his mother caused the bruises. Ms. Henrichson rolled her eyes again and said she would call back. She never did. I called her office on December 18th, 2017, asking to get copies of my sons records. She said her assistant Amy would call me later that day. Amy never called. I went into her office the following day on December 19th, 2017, and politely asked to my sons records. Her front office manager slammed her pen down on the desk and told me I was not allowed to see any information regarding my son and to leave. (I have the entire conversation recorded on video to show proof of this incident). On January 5th, 2018, my attorney sent a letter via fax to Ms. Henrichson asking her to release my son's medical records and legal requirement to do so. She never responded to the communication nor provided me the records. Ms. Henrichson has a right to report regarding cases of potential child abuse. She has failed in that responsibility. Additionally, she's failed her professional and legal obligation to provide me a copy of my sons records to be an informed father. She's denying me my rights. Finally, Ms. Henrichson is not placing the child first. Her disposition has been one of paternal alienation rather than child advocacy by inclusiveness of all of my sons care givers. I have asked for information regarding my sons medical records on several occasions and have the legal documentation of my rights to do so. However, she has always denied these rights and this seems very unethical and illegal. Lastly, seeing as how my sons mother and stepfather are close friends of Anita's, and have been paying her thousands of dollars over the past several years in order to try and alienate my son from me, I would be greatly surprised if she doesn't have either one of them reply to this complaint with more lies.
