Wow... In all my years of purchasing cars used and new I have never run across this in which I was just denied test driving a vehicle because I refused to do a credit application in advance of the test drive. In all fairness, they claimed that they are not running my credit, but want all the info to include proof of income prior to allowing me to test drive the vehicle. So why do they need all my financial data? I thought something wasnt right when in person in the dealership they told me that I couldnt test drive it because all their dealer tags were out at auction. When I called back today prior to going back in person to confirm they had a tag available that's when I was told I had to provide all my personal data to them in advance of the test drive. They tried getting that info from me while I was there last night. And instead I submitted a loan request to my bank for pre-approval last night. It just amazes me why someone would consider providing a dealership wtih all your confidential data to run your credit and lower your credit score before you have decided that the vehicle checks out and your going to actually purchase it. On top of it the individual was rude and nasty to me. UMMM.... Maybe they don't like folks of mixed ethenicity by the obvious discrimination I just experienced. I wonder if they pick and choose who they allow to test drive their vehicles? All that profiling was for not. I have full coverage ins on my paid off 2018 Lexus GS350 Sport that I'm keeping. So no liablities should something go wrong on the test drive. Plus I'm sure their sales rep goes on the test drive with you. And I have the means to purchase a vehicle with no complications. Yep... they lost on an easy car sale and I suspect that they will lose many more because of this experience, for I will make sure I tell everyone about it. I had read many reviews and done my homework before attempting to purchase here. I explained my financial situation up front, no surprises and expected they would use Credit acceptance under the circumstances. We looked the vehicle over on Thursday night, but it was dark and we never were offered a test drive which started this off on the wrong foot. Fast foward to today, we were supposed to take delivery at noon, was told the vehicle wouldn't be ready until later. Fine, we went in about 4. This time we looked the vehicle over thoroughly, and it was a sea of rust underneath and rust forming under the plastic pieces. Which means only one thing..Stay away. We were approached by John our salesperson and relayed our concerns which he thought were amusing, and he took us inside..that was the last we saw of him. We then had their finance mgr come in with the paperwork and we spoke with him as well. The typical cars up here are going to have rust etc was offered.. But we had a bad experience with a vehicle before in a similar situation and were not about to go there again. So for 54 months at 22% interest and a 324 payment it could all be mine. It comes out to over 17000 on a 12 year old vehicle that is 9400 to start. And having agreed to a 1000 down payment, Credit acceptance now needed another 500 to close the deal. I have bought cars since the 70s and i have paid high interest rates at times because of credit issues, but are you serious about this . So now we start negotiating a lower term, but higher payment to save some interest, but e still it doesn't add up. Upside down on a 12 year old vehicle from the start. I thought you negotiated this with the initial visit, not when you are there for delivery. He stated all of the reasons why other dealers in the area are inferior to theirs, except for the issue that their accreditation with the BBB was pulled in August because of fines levied by the NYSAG against them for non disclosure of vehicle issues prior to selling them to their customers. That ended the conversation very quickly. We declined to commit to this purchase, he was going to have the owner, I believe Mary, come in and speak with us to see if there migh t be a resolution. She never bothered and we were shown the door. And as a fitting end to this, even though they do refunds on Friday (today), I have to make another trip here a week from now to get my 100 deposit back. I have never had a deposit held on any vehicle that a deal fell through on in my lifetime. Unconscionable is the nicest term I will use for this . I don't get any satisfaction from writing this. I purchased a vehicle from Santa Motors on 3-31-22..And yes during the purchasing part they were nice attentive and eager to sell..On June 7 I took it to them where they claimed they repaired the ignition coil,2 rocker arms, the water pump that had internal damage, and 2ignition coils..Now it wont.start because it needs the pcm computer.Jeep verified that there is no way they sid any of the work that was paid for!! And when discussing the replacement of the pcm the owner tells me it's my problem now!! I haven't had this vehicle for 90 days yet I should not have to pay for this work..Not to mention the way they hang up on you, they are rude thieves putting band aids over issues to make a dollar.. read more

Pretty amazing range of reviews! My experience with Santa Motors has been just about perfect. Was dealing with some credit issues and they were very helpful in that area in obtaining surprisingly reasonable interest rate financing - identified the vehicle that I wanted - they 'reserved' the Jeep for a week while I got the down payment - gave me a generous trade in value for a vehicle that was ready for the junkyard - had the new vehicle ready when I arrived to pick it up and am very happy with the entire experience and will definitely start my next car shopping task with them - would recommend Santa Motors to anyone with or without credit issues - likely be buying a second vehicle later this year - was also very pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of the vehicles available - granted some have high mileage but keeping a eye on the inventory online is worth the trouble! mark read more

Awful , awful , awful dishonest place!!! The manager Sam initially documented on a signed paper that the car I bought was about 4,000 less than what he had me financed for. I was asked to come in Monday , drove 40 min at the time agreed upon .... car was not ready ! He treated us so disrespectfully , and then rushed us through the process ( I'm assuming so we did not realize that he had changed the vehicle price) I am waiting for a call back as I phoned the number listed on line . I will certainly be notifying the BBB if we are unable to resolve this. I have our initial signed form with a totally different cost listed . DO NOT GO HERE!!! The owner actually called me after my review on Yelp. I left a rather scathing review after my horrible experience purchasing a vehicle .She was concerned about my experience. I've never had a business owner track down a yelp review to resolve an issue. Major kudos to the owner Mary who called me and did everything she could to make sure I became a happy customer. She cleared things up and helped explain some alternatives. I truly appreciate Mary reaching out to me to help make my experience better. That's not very common in business nowadays. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. Don't even look. A guy named "Sam" stay away from him. They are trying to scam every customer by requiring a "warranty" in order to finance and pocketing your down payment without even deducting it from your final sale/ finance cost. I have physical audio recordings of person to person conversations and phone. They tried to take advantage of me and wouldn't even let me see the copy or paperwork with the terms they wanted me to agree to. I have filed a claim with the BBB. read more

Not surprised at all that Santa Motors was and is under investigation with the Attorney General. Not supplying customers with required information about recalls on their cars. Almost as bad as selling a car that wouldn't pass inspection and make it available for sale. Then breaching the 30 day warranty when the engine on the automobile blows 21 days after purchased. This place is horrible!! I own a 2013 VW Passat and there has been nothing but problems. They BARELY answer the phone and don't really care about problems. I brought my car in 2018 and I find myself constantly taking my car back at least every couple weeks (because they only answer the phone sometimes). They do terrible work on your car and only fix things half way. When I brung the situation to Joe (the boss), he proceeded to say "well you did buy a used car." I've been on this earth for 21 years and I know damn well a car that cost almost 11,000 should not have this many problems at all and even if it did your supposed to fix it when I ask. I constantly tell them " well if I need to come out of pocket for some stuff then that's fine" but there is still no solution. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU NOT DO BUSINESS HERE AT ALL. My father has even brought them a lot of business and they still treat us like nothing. A smart person would just fix everything so the customer wouldn't even have to bother them. I went to get my heat fixed and one side of the car is blowing out SEMI WARM AIR and the other side is blowing out ICE COLD AIR. Trust me, you do not wanna do business here please save the stress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Worse place in the world. Bought a van and they told me I had warranty for 3 years and when I signed papers they never told me about if I signed this certain paper it would decline the warranty. Basically set me up. So I ask if they can at least fix my parking sensor and they guided me to there mechanics and mechanic is still searching the part after i gave them the vin and part to search and it's been almost a year telling me lies about they can't find the part. Lie after lie. And they knew sensor was bad and they still have my sensor at shop and haven't called me yet.Your a mechanic shop I'm not going to believe that your trying. I been trying to get a car since Friday from this place I put down 3000 that same day every single day since I've been having to call them to make sure they do what they have to do so I can get this car. Nobody communicates with each other so nobody knows what's going on, they make it seem like your bothering them when u call for a update on what's going on cause nobody will call and tell you what they need to continue the process. They will talk over you and cut u off while your saying something so on top of them acting like they don't want to sell you a car after they take ur money they are very rude on top of it all... I was told I would be in my new car by Monday the latest! It's now Wednesday and I'm no longer even happy about getting a car I want nothing to do with this place anymore! ... the best part is I now have to wait til Friday to get my money back! I bought a car Sept.1. All I have had with it is nothing but problems. Their customer service really seems to have no concern for any of it. I did get it in for some repairs that took a week to get done. Never received any written statements of what was done to my vehicle and never even a "thank you for your business" when I did finally pick up my vehicle from being "repaired" I definitely won't be returning or recommending anyone I know to purchase a vehicle from this dealership. read more

Do not go to this dealership! I put down a cash deposit for a used car on Friday. They told me due to the holiday it would be ready for me to pick up Tuesday morning. I dealt with sales manager Sam. He told me $1,000 down and he could get me in a vehicle with payments of $325. The car would be ready Tuesday morning and all I would have to do is sign the paperwork & I would be out of there on time to get to work at 11. Sam called Saturday & said I need to put a bigger down payment down. Then Tuesday when I get to the shop the car is not ready. The inspection listed the car at 10,000 miles below what the actual miles are bad it would be fraud if they tried to process through the Dmv. They asked me to come back the following Wednesday as the car was not even cleaned yet & smells like smoke, I don't have a title in my name or a registration due to previously mentioned issue. Sam asked me to sign the sales paperwork & they would drop the car off to me later. I told him absolutely not so his other option was to put dealer plates on it & have me come back to get it cleaned and inspected to process Dmv paperwork. In the mean time the car is currently stuck in my driveway because the transmission is messed up. I can't go in reverse. I've had to fill air in the tires 3 times in 5 days and now it's stuck in the driveway. I called the dealership today to try & get a resolution. I was given attitude and told I need to call the shop. I called the shop at 9am and had to leave a voicemail. In the mean time I called the attorney generals office, Dmv, insurance company & lender. The lender is putting an investigation through to their corporate legal team. I called the shop again at 12:30 and left another message. Still no answer or call back. I called the sales office again & asked to speak to the owner. I was put through to his voicemail which is full & I couldn't leave a message. I called back and asked if someone could give him my number to contact me & was hung up on. It is now 5 1/2 hours later with no call back, no resolution & still no car. Oh & btw Sam did not keep my payments at $325 like I asked, so I told him I want to look at other cars with a Lower monthly payment ( before signing anything) as we discussed and he told me I would have to make 8 payments in time & refinance through the dealership & my payments will be $100 less a month. At this point without having a title in ny name or a registration & dealer plates I want my down payment back and they can keep their p.o.s. Maybe if I can get a call back it will be resolved read more

I would give a zero star review if I could. Long story short, I bought a car from them and 2 months later needed to replace the master cylinder. 10 months after that, the master cylinder failed and again needed to be replaced. These repairs cost me $700 and Santa Motors refused any relief. Very upset with this treatment. read more

Worst place to buy a car from. My girlfriend and I recently like 7 months ago leased cars from here. Since then she has had problems after problems with her truck, things that were so worn down they been needed to be fixed, engine light coming on muliple times, car not starting, an it goes to there repair shop they telling her its fixed and charging 100 deductables an the problem wasnt even fixed. Happened again car not starting and the first time they tell her its her battery an they dont know how when they put a new battery in the car before but put another new one in no charge. This happend again like 2 times going out to leave for work at 5am an unable to start her truck. We made multiple calls to the owner an management no response after weeks. The manager at the repair shop telling her theres nothing wrong with her truck the tow person brought it up here an it started with no problems thats because he had to jump the truck and we had to do that everytime she calld insurance to get a tow it needed to be jumped. The week before I took it up there again because it wouldnt start an they said it was a corroded battery terminal an the fixed it again no charge. To have the mechanic the manager at that tell her theres nothing wrong with her truck ok she got upset she has that right because he basically calling her a liar she goes off an then the mechanic tells her you can take your truck I dont want to even work on it anymore. For staff to work in the office to tell her she should be glad that its having these problems now you can get them fixed and this was around the holiday time. Now we want are money back so she can go somewhere else to get something more reliable or the next step law offices involved. read more

I purchased a car from Santa motors on May 23rd. Two days later and since the engine light has been on, the car has been cursed burning smell through the vents in the car as well as under the hood. The car over heated and stalled on two separate occasions. I have had the car serviced THREE times without success. Same issues, in fact the issues worsen each time they take the car and return it to me. The car has been drivable only 6 days out of a 28 day time span. No loaner was offered, and the loaner was denied when asked. The mechanic at their shop was rude and I was unable to get a invoice or clear understanding what so ever of the work he had done the first time around. The second time there were worsening problems and the car stalled while driving it. The third time...the car now does not drive without the engine light on, acceleration issues and scratches. And gouge on rear trunk. I have taken photos. The shop is a junkyard that they send you to...one bay and a very unsafe operation as far as the lot itself, questionable operation through and through. Unprofessional, very shady characters, Santa Motors sells lemons is the word on Facebook, and reviews, better business bureau. I have a lemon law lawyer who is seeing to this awful situation. No loaner, no apology only defensive behavior from Mary the owner as well as the salesman and mechanic, rude, UNINFORMATIVE, and not helpful one bit. Only had the car for two days! Please buyer beware. I was shocked at the way they treated me once the trouble started. Out right claiming no responsibility or concern whatsoever ever. read more

My son bought a 2007 Ford F150 XLT Pickup Truck with 83,000 miles on it for roughly $14,000. in November of 2015, within the first week the truck was found to have a cracked exhaust manifold which their repair shop did a shady job of fixing causing more problems. Then right when their 30 day warranty expired the check engine light came on which was caused by a bad Catalytic converter which they ended up covering and fixing by a better repair shop that they use. Now it's been one problem after another that has cost him out of his own pocket, a week after the converter was replaced his rear Brake pads and rotors had to be replaced, then the front upper ball joints had to be replaced. This vehicle should have never passed the NY State inspection, the Ball Joints don't go this bad in a month and a half or the brake pads and rotors. Now there seems to be a transmission issue with it banging when shifting. Don't know where to go from here, NY State Attorney General or Better Business Bureau ? read more
