I have been dealing with Ralph Honda for over 15 years. I find the people that work there are friendly and trustworthy. From Bob and Elvis in the sales department, to Steve and Savannah in the service department, and even to Chuck in the collision shop out back - they know how to treat their customers right. I bought two cars from them and I get them serviced at the dealer. I know some people think that's crazy but they actually work out to be less money and better service and they certainly know my car inside and out. And just today I went in with a question about a small scratch and mark on the fender of my car and Chuck in the body shop took 15 minutes out of his day to make it right. Right on the spot. I took my car on 12/10 for a repair on the CRV gas door cable that need it, They charged me around $430 (they charge extra if you paid with credit card). On 12/29 I received a call from the part department that the new part for the gas door cable arrived and they want to set up an appointment to installed it. To my surprised, the car was fixed on 12/11 and I paid it off the same day. Their integrity, trust and respect has droped immensisly. Did they scam me? If you must, avoid Steven Pecora at all costs and don't count on the service manager to apologize to you or help you when Steven acts amiss. I brought in a 2006 Honda CRV with 225,000 miles. I recently bought it from Georgia: rust-free, interior in perfect condition. I love old cars and the Honda engine from that year is rumored to go 300k+. My dad and boyfriend both did rebuilds and fixed their own cars for 10+ years. Of course, they have jobs and lives and don't want to work on my car so they help guide me to not get screwed over. After I got the Honda, I brought it to Ralph because I've never had anything but Pontiac and went to GM mechanics prior and I figured they would be able to go over it with expert eyes and tell me why it was whining a bit, particularly when steering, and to get another key made because honda keys are impossible to do elsewhere. Primarily, I dealt with Linda who was very nice. That being said, she diagnosed it immediately after pulling it in, as the power steering pump which I was skeptical as she is not a mechanic. $1100 bill to replace that & a belt, plus key order & cut, they replaced the fan too. They also changed the oil without asking (it had just been done at Valvoline) & charged me for it. Fine. My boyfriend looks under the hood after service, I am missing the windshield fluid cap & several of the screws that seal up the fan. Really? A few weeks later, I have to come back to have the key cut, I already paid for the labor. It's on the original invoice. Steven Pecora insists that I still need to pay for the labor and is demeaning when I continue arguing that I had already paid! Eventually, I give up and pay him his $85 which I later called to contest and get refunded. A few weeks later, it's whining again and leaking from the steering, I bring it in. Why isn't it fixed? They tell me well now it's the rack and pinyon, $3,000 ... NOO I think it was probably the rack and pinyon to start and you had me a buy new power steering pump. Here's the trick & the sell - let's get you a car from our lot & financing! Don't get tricked or disrespected by Ralph, they are no more qualified to diagnose and fix Honda's than anyone else. First, I'll preface this with saying my family and I are long-time customers who have bought 4 cars and leased 1, between me and my parents, from Ralph. With that being said, I'm not biased as I have no problem with going to another mechanic if needed, and I have, when I've needed to over the years. Be it cost, or emergency, or convenience. Yes, do you pay a little more for parts and service because it's a dealership? Sure thing. Is it worth it? Absolutely! Do I trust them to give me the estimate and options before doing the work? Yes, because they do that, every time. Oh, and I can say no when I need to, and they respect that. If they didn't, I wouldn't be customer. Same with sales. They've been honest when I've leased, when we've sold our used Honda, and bought new. Reading the other reviews and seeing other women complain because sales or service "treats them differently because they're a woman," is just nonsense. If you're going to buy a car, in today's economy (and even the past 5 years), do the research, be prepared, and learn some negotiating skills. This is for ANY dealership and for any MAJOR purchase. For service, same thing, do your research, understand what's needed, and even shop around if you need to. Because even a Vic's on the corner car repair shop, can cost more than a dealership. I booked an after work appointment for an inspection. But because it wouldn't pass (needed brake work) I had to reschedule over a week out. WHY do you do inspection appointments if you can't FIX the issues then? Luckily we determined that before they scraped my inspection sticker off. Then I booked for over a week out and said "I HAVE to be out by 3:30 for another appointment." I was assured that would not be a problem. I showed up a few minutes before my appointment first thing in the morning to drop off the car for a 9am appointment. I can't do this alone. I'm disabled, and need a friend to help me get my mobility device out of my car. So I've had to inconvenience a friend twice now. I again stressed that I had to have the car back by 3:30 as I had another appointment afterward. Again I was assured that wouldn't be a problem. I showed up at 3:30 and was told it wasn't ready and to take a seat in the waiting room. This meant that now the friend who was helping me had to wait, too. Over an hour went by and STILL my car wasn't ready. At 4:30 I was told they still had to bleed the lines and it would be 20 more minutes. When I said to Steve Pecora that I would now have to cancel an appointment at the last minute that had been scheduled for quite some time he JUST SHRUGGED AT ME. No apology. Nothing. I was just dismissed with a shrug. When I tell you that I will NEVER go back or recommend this dealership to anyone, know that I mean it. It's one thing to run late - but I had no phone call saying it would be late. And to be literally shrugged off was insulting. Especially after spending $1400 that day. I WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

This rating is more about Honda itself than Ralph (whose service department we appreciate). We have a 2019 Pilot and the windows continue to open on their own -- whether or not someone is holding the key fob. I expected to be told UNEQUIVOCALLY "we will take care of you today" when I called Ralph Honda -- because this is an emergency. I have reached out to corporate Honda as well, and do plan on following this up with complaints about Honda to the appropriate agencies. every time my car is brought in either for an oil change, repair or getting general maintenance done they are always very quick and on time with estimate that is given to me. My car has gotten hit on two separate occasions and both times they got my car fixed in a reasonable amount of time and even dealt with the insurance company if i had any issues. I have a one year old Honda CRV with 17,000 miles and it already needs new tires to pass inspection. They also basically made me get my rear differential fluid replaced at 6,000 miles and have to pay a couple hundred dollars for it. Completely unacceptable as a long time customer that has spent a lot of money here. The service department is rude, unhelpful, and disrespectful. Ahhhhh BUT they got me in both times without giving me a hard time. I bought my last car here and will go nowhere else, these guys are great!! Silly me. They have a new waiting area and it's beautiful. They also have snacks!! And coffee... or hot chocolate... or tea. They have vending if these don't float your boat. For snacks they have fruit, granola bars and fruit snacks! Mmmmm. Makes waiting less painful. I had my car interior detailed here and was a little disappointed because it didn't have that clean feeling when I got it back. The air freshner they put in it was strange and there was no shine or gloss. For almost 90 bucks, I want more. I want to see and feel like it got cleaned and I didn't get that. The other problem was I asked for a loaner for the day.... I got one but they wanted me to pay for it. Excuse Me? I spend enough money here and they shouldn't be charging for a loaner. Ralph Honda has a terrible service department which mishandled a safety recall problem not just once, but twice! Customer care in the Service Department is incredibly bad. They continually messed up communications with me and blamed it on everyone else but themselves. They even blamed Honda Corp! If they hadn't wasted so much of my time, that one would have been funny. Even though they weren't making anything on the transaction, Steve Dambra and Zac Ralph were fantastic to work with, they went above and beyond. I told Steve that if I was ever in the market for a Honda again, I'd be back. We just found ourself looking for a new SUV, which brought us back to Ralph to look at the Pilot and Passport. The day we wanted to test drive, Steve wasn't available. He set us up with Chris, who helped us and answered our questions, knowing we would do the transaction with Steve. First and foremost Corrine is a wonderful sales representative and I highly recommend working with her. She is sweet, kind and genuine which is hard to find in Car sales! She deserves 5 stars!!! She's the best - and others in sales are very responsive and respectful! On the other hand, the reason for 1 star (which truly is 0 stars) is in service - Steve Peccora and Terry Harrison are rude and condescending. They rip you off and if you ask for a second opinion they insult you and yell at you. I recommend taking your car to another garage. After explaining to Terry that Steve was condescending and just because we are female doesn't mean we don't know anything about cars. He decided to continue the condescending tone and when I googled the price of a part - since Terry didn't know - a comment was made to my mom "your daughter thinks she knows everything about cars". They argued with us about the extended warranty that we ot for! I have heard this complaint from other customers and employees that have dealt with Steve and Terry. read more

I ordered and bought my 2018 CRV EX-L at Ralph's in Jan 2019. It arrived with 600 miles on it, dented from hale and with scratches on the left door passenger panel. Ralph pulled the dents and touched up the chipped paint. Did not blend it in. On Aug 3 2021, I T-boned a Subaru who ran a stop sign. Two days after I got my car back from the repair shop (without the backordered radar sensor), the back caliper on the driver's side froze. Ralph tried to tell me it was caused by my body shop (impossible, as they only worked on the front). When I picked it up the alarm was still constantly dinging. By then Linda had left and Mike Pecora - the other service would not help, so I left it there. After much ado and more than a month later (due to its being on backorder) the caliper was fixed under warranty. In mid-September the new radar sensor finally arrived. Knowing its calibration requires special, Honda-exclusive tools my body shop did not have, on Sept 21 I took the car, radar sensor and related bracket to Ralph Honda, for installation on Thursday Sept 22. I asked for the old parts back (but never received them). Linda, my usually awesome service rep, called me in the early afternoon to say it was ready, despite their having a hard time taking the bumper off because "it was glued on" and "they used screws instead of Honda clips". I got there before 5, paid for the car, got to the parking lot and immediately saw the bumper was crooked. Closer inspection revealed it was RIPPED and scratched at the junction with the side fender on the passenger side, all along the edge across the grill, and on the driver's side, and in addition to having a gap wide enough to fit my index finger between the bumper and the headlight, the black wheel-well molding was detached on both sides. Linda had gone home, but somehow came back to the dealership, and called over "Xavier" - the tech who worked on my car. They showed me "the white glue" (that turned out to be dry polishing compound residue and scratches from whatever was used to try to pry the bumper off). They also claimed the bumper was damaged while taking it off because screws were used instead of clips. Then they insinuated that my body shop re-used the old bumper and used a plate to hold the mounting bracket up on one side, making it impossible to re-align it properly. I told them that theory does not hold water because the bumper was brand new, undamaged and perfectly aligned when I dropped the car off. In the end we agreed to discuss the situation with their service manager, Max, on Monday. On Monday, Linda called asking for the 2021 accident claim number and the name of the body shop who did the repairs so she could let Honda know about their sub-standard service practices. I told her I am not about to blame someone else for Xavier's negligence and lack of common sense. He clearly tried to pry the bumper off the car at first (scratching it all the way around the edge, down to the white plastic) then simply yanked it off by brute force and ripped it because he did not bother to check if it was a screw or a plastic clip holding it together. My bumper was pristine and perfectly aligned when I brought it in. Now I will have to pay out of pocket to replace the brand new OEM bumper Ralph Honda carelessly damaged beyond repair, the bracket, the molding as well as 2 clip fasteners that have gone missing. My body shop advised my bumper is NOT structurally sound now and even a little bump might lead to major damage. This is strike 3 with Ralph Honda, and it's enough for me. To add insult to my injury, instead of the expected call from the service manager to remedy the situation I received a robo-call asking to rate my service experience. After I had have my car jumped, my '05 Civic radio had reset and needed a code. I called Ralph Honda for help, and told them I was having issues getting the code for the '05 Civic. They told me to come into the service center to be helped. I went in, and an older woman came to assist me. I explained the situation to her, and she was incredibly dismissive, first saying "An '05?! We have no codes for an '05!" I told her I had spoken to a man about it and he knew I had an '05 and told me to come in. She came out to see my car and radio, was very huffy and seemed annoyed with me although I was just asking for help. My radio is from a different manufacturer and had been replaced before I bought it, but this has happened before and I had been able to get the code years ago. She explained that the differing manufacturer meant they couldn't look up the code. Her explanations were incredibly rude and dismissive. I felt very unwelcome and felt like I was burdening her by asking for help. She offered zero guidance on where I could find this code from a different manufacturer and told me she had "no idea how it could be brought back to life". I called the man back on the phone while still in the parking lot, I think his name was Adam. He was very helpful and actually tried giving me guidance on how to figure it out, which is why I'm doing 2 stars instead of 1. Thank you, Adam, for being respectful rather than dismissive. Terrible service by Ralph Honda. Took my car in for a inspection, oil change and new serpentine belt. They ended up saying it needed new spark plugs and other additions (which is fine) but it ended up being quite a pricey service. I then had a long drive a head of me to Connecticut. Once down there my car would not turn on. AAA game and realized that both of my battery terminals (positive and negative) were not even close to being screwed back on which drained my brand new battery (had bought it 4 months prior). I then needed to buy another new battery. A few days later I realized the oil change they charged me for had not been preformed. My car still said I only had 20% oil life. This is completely unexceptionable and lazy. Will never return here. read more

Easily the most efficient and pleasant car leasing experience of my life (and this is my 4th)! Ventured to Ralph Honda from Buffalo (about 1 hour 15 min drive from our place in the city) after negotiating the entire lease deal over the phone. My salesperson was Mike Nacey and he was AWESOME! Very informative, professional and understanding. Best part was that in advance he explained EXACTLY what would happen in person on the deal day, and he was on point when I showed up. Paperwork was neatly organized and ready to go, and he did take my questions as I had them.*** It took me longer to drive there and back than it did to complete the paperwork and get a full overview of the vehicle - that's amazing! *** We were trading in another Honda lease vehicle so had a couple extra steps to the process but otherwise was pretty standard. OH AND AN AMAZING LITTLE FACT is that Ralph Honda (as of this review) is one of the few Honda dealers that is directly tied into the NY state DMV's computer system. That means you can transfer plates (like I had to) or get a new registration (like I did) ON THE SPOT. NO VENTURING TO THE DMV AFTERWARDS! Works for brand new leases as well. Amazing and time saving. At some point in the not too distant future my husband and I will definitely take on a second vehicle (likely when we buy a place in the suburbs) and if we go with another Honda then the FIRST place we'll consider for that lease (and likely stick with) is Ralph Honda. Sales department excellent. Place is sparkling clean, especially the bathrooms. Bad service experience. Condescending to say the least. Brought my car in after traveling a distance. Gave me a 6:30pm service appt and car was never looked at. Then told me would look at it next day. Basic service for 40k mile checkup. Not ready til mid afternoon. Problem they said was fixed popped up again after I drove out. Key fob. Said it was likely wegmans battery problem. A few other issues. They wont be seeing our family again read more

Sorry Ralph Honda, but you're losing a star for one important reason, your auto maintenance crew. I am not in anyway blaming the customer service for the auto salesman as I think all of them do a great job serving customers and making sure they are taken care of...the same can NOT be said for the auto mechanics. A week after I purchased the Mystique, the battery died. I would've thought that since they said they would inspect the vehicle, that the battery and engine would've been covered...guess not. After that incident, I thought I was free of problems after that, right? Not in the slighest! It turns out when I got the vehicle back, the air in one of the front tires deflated and left the car sinking at an odd angle. So they fixed one problem and caused another, meh at least it was free of warranty. Later on, that weather strip problem? Well even though I was under warranty, they wanted to charge me for the extra strips anyways. We reached an agreement in which I would pay half and he would pay half for the fixation of the strips. They were fixed beautfiully but really? I thought that the vehicle under warranty would mean they fix everything for F-R-E-E! Turns out I was mistaken because even after this, the exhaust busted and the license plate frame popped out. This time, they didn't try to get me to pay and just fixed all the issues that they found, which they really should've done in the first place. I'll give them credit that I bought the car the day it arrived at the dealership and they probalby didn't have enough time to inspect it...but twith the amount of problems I recieved, I'll service my vehicle elswhere. read more

I've started coming here for my car needs (having an Accord and all, ya know?) and I really like their drive-up service station. You pull in and they're right there ready to roll with you. It's almost like an efficiently run urgent care. You walk in with a complaint. They note it and do their diagnostics, tell you what's up, and remedy the situation. Occasionally, your car will have to be admitted, but they do a good job and don't try to stiff you (a huge pet peeve of mine when I go to auto places and they try to get me to get x, y, and z for another $600). The salesmen (and women) on the floor are very courteous and helpful and will respect your privacy to browse if you say so. All the staff I've met so far are very nice. The waiting area is a small area with some coffee, a TV, water, and reading material. Overall, a nice, friendly, non-threatening place and I will continue to bring my car here for service as long as they keep doing what they're doing. read more

Tom Martin was my salesman and he is attentive and says hello every single time I am in their for my routine service. Nice guy. The service writers are all great. I particularly love Linda because she is such a sweetheart and always seems to be happy that you are there. One HUGE plus is the free wi-fi in the waiting area. Proceeded with saying that he was waiting for me to call him and realized it was HIS mistake and said he tried leaving a voicemail but mailbox was full and he mustve called the wrong number. (All excuses) This is aside from the disappointment of the service I had done to my car. He was not apologetic. I asked for a discount to compensate for his mistake and he refused to give me one until I asked to see the manager. I have been to this dealership before with zero issues. However, this last visit left me very disappointed. I had a $5 off coupon for my NYS inspection. While waiting, I was told my cabin air filter was filled with mouse poop and that it definitely was a mouse because the filter was bent. She even went into detail about how my car would begin to smell because of this. I declined and said I'll replace the filter myself for a lot cheaper. I took the car back home and had my father take out the cabin air filter. It did not contain of any mouse poop but rather a few tiny pieces of leafs which is expected. Highly disappointed and I will be looking for a trusted mechanic to repair and maintain my vehicle instead of a greedy dealership just wanting to take their customers money. Was a customer of the service dept from 2012 - 2016 for my new Honda Pilot. On a couple of occasions when going in for routine maintenance, it seemed like they were trying to sell me services the car didn't yet need. Their opportunity can start with their "free multi point inspection." On DOS 1/11/16, I went in for an oil change, the service manager then showed me a very dirty Honda Pilot HVAC filter that he claimed they had just pulled it out of my car, and offered me a story about mice and a cold garage. I know such things are possible with Honda Pilots and my garage in the Winter, but still this was a bit suspicious. I decided to play along since it was about due for replacement anyway and replacing it myself might be a bit of a hassle in the extreme cold. All to say that when taking your car to this Service Dept, as with any Service Dept, be sure to have your spidey sense turned on, cause who knows how corrupt they may or may not be. read more

I've used this dealership for service for 5 years, and have had issues with their service department prior for dishonesty, but now I'm done. Took my car in today for NYS inspection and was told my rear brakes and rotors, which were replaced by them in November (7 months ago), were completely rusted through and would not pass inspection. I stated that was impossible and if there was any kind of issue, it must be under warranty. They said they would check into it and call me back. On the call back, I was told they would cover the brake pad cost, but not the rotors because Honda will not warranty rotors due to NY winters, salt and rust. I would have to pay for the rotors, but (and I quote) "hey, the inspection is free because the charges are over $99". They also blamed the Covid pandemic and fewer miles on my car in the past 7 months (it seemed well rehearsed). First of all, they have no idea how often I drive... so I'm calling a scam on this one. My partner owns a metal shop and metal does not rust that fast regardless of the conditions they are put through. Unfortunately, I needed this to pass inspection otherwise I would have denied the service and picked up my car. I plan to trade in my Honda for a new one this year, but I will not use Ralph Honda for that sale or any future vehicle maintenance. I will drive further and use a more reputable Honda dealer. read more
