I was a huge fan of the steak myself, and that's what I chose to order. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the eggs were done just right. The Dutch Baby was also pleasantly sweet, and it was not overly big like some other versions. I would highly recommend both and would definitely stop in again in the future.

The Mediterranean was completely different but just as enjoyable, with a soft boiled egg, grilled halloumi, hummus, olives, cucumber salad, tomatoes, pita, and sumac. It was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. The grilled halloumi and hummus were probably our favorite parts. We also couldn't resist trying a couple of pastries and ordered the Cheddar Chive Scone and a croissant. Both tasted incredibly fresh. The croissant was buttery and flaky, and the scone had a really nice savory flavor from the cheddar and chives. Sunrose has a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere that makes it a perfect brunch spot, and everything we tried tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The Palomilla sandwich had tough and chewy meat with a sad portion of broken up shoestring fries, and the top piece of bread was razor thin and falling apart, leaving it essentially open faced. See pics for more details. The beans were almost entirely liquid broth looking like the bottom of the pot than a proper side. The meal felt like it was put together from the end of the day leftovers sadly. I know there is new staff upfront and in the kitchen, but serving food in this condition is unacceptable. So basically, you had to prioritize eating the hot dish first and the appetizer second. The menu itself is not very large, but has what you would expect at most hotel restaurants, although surprisingly no club sandwich or grilled cheese, which I seem to always see. I started off with the Crispy Avocado Wedges and thought they were just OK. It's basically breaded and fried avocado, but the salad beneath it was more of a garnish than an actual salad. There was not enough dressing to make it a true full plate. I felt this was more of a tapas plate still in its creation phase. For my entrée, I chose the Wagyu Cheeseburger and I thought this one was very good. It was cooked perfectly and honestly, I have no complaints about it at all. I should have added avocado, but I would recommend the burger and felt it really made up for the appetizer. Aside from the timing issue with our entrées all arriving at once, it was a really nice dining experience and I would certainly suggest if you are staying at the hotel.

For mains, we got the miso black cod and the king salmon. Both were tasty! The cod was flavorful and yummy, though if you've ever had/made miso black cod it tastes just like that. It came with crunchy sauteed snap peas which I really enjoyed. The salmon was a narrow but large portion and served with broccoli and rice. The salmon was cooked nicely, it was tender. Overall nice meal here! Good food, nice ambiance, good service. On the pricey side for what you get though, like most LA restaurants.

Star of the Night: Without a doubt, the focaccia was the best I've ever had. Perfectly fluffy, flavorful, and truly next-level. The pizza butter was a nice touch, though not as memorable as the bread itself. Appetizers: * Caesar Salad: I wasn't a fan of the presentation with the large anchovies on top. I don't mind anchovies in the dressing, but having them laid out on the salad wasn't appetizing. * Tempura Mushrooms: Great flavor, but they were overly fried, making them a bit too hard and masking the mushroom itself. The sauce that came with them was delicious, but there wasn't enough of it to balance out the crispiness. * Grilled Shrimp: Unfortunately, this one missed the mark. The plating was very plain compared to the other dishes, and the flavors just didn't come through. It felt like the dish could use a serious upgrade. * Hamachi Crudo: This was a highlight!
