Arroz con Pollo

Always is a pleasure come here and enjoy the specials on the weekends, also the pan con chicharron is so good

The painted wall! Love it

Stopped in this evening to try the Chicharron Sandwich! I had one last month while I was in Lima, Peru and needed to find one here. So happy to find Sangucheria Peruvian Street food!!! I ordered the Chicharron Sandwich and a chicken empanada. Both were delicious. The sandwich was full of Chicharron and the flavors were excellent! I wanted a little more red onion. The only thing I would change is to cut the Chicharron a little thicker. The empanada was stuffed with chicken and had a nice smoky flavor. I really enjoyed the food and will definitely come back to try the sandwich during lunch! I never got the chance to order Lucuma icecream while in Peru so luckily they had it here. We debated the taste but settled on butter scotch, butter pecan?! It was just ok. And the painted wall reminded us of the textiles we saw everywhere in Peru. Very cool!! Gracias and we will be back!!!

Very cute family owned Peruvian sandwich spot, the workers are so friendly and it has a very homie vibe. I got a chicharron sandwich and it was pretty big. The meat was good and the sweet potato in it was unique! Never had sweet potato in a sandwich. It looked like they also have a section for coffee.

Quality ingredients you can taste in each bite.

Small family owned restaurant, that still cooks with love. One of my favorite places to get a quality sandwich that taste better with every bite. The whole menu is good. But my favorite is the sandwiches.

Paid by card. Sangucheria Peruvian Street Food is located in a plaza and offers a lot of plaza parking. I went here on a weekday evening after trying a class at the nearby gym, and was able to be helped right away since there was no other customers. (I went close to closing) The male owner/cashier was so welcoming and so kind! He was so awesome to talk to while I ordered and throughout my meal. I ordered one of every empanada, chicharron sandwich, and red Kola. Everything was amazing!! I would definitely recommend this place and would go back. Very cute shop!

Fantastic Peruvian sandwiches on soft fresh bread rolls, served with spicy sauce options. Beer on tap and delicious desserts to top off the meal. Friendly and helpful service, clean place, and plenty of parking. An all-around winner!

I picked up a sandwich before heading home, not my first time here, I've tried almost all their sandwiches already and I must say I like their chicharron sandwich the most. Their Chicharron have braised Pork, onions, fried sweet potatoes, and their homemade sauce. This sandwich is good but kinda noticed on my recent visit I tasted more potatoes than the Meats, Anyways, it's still good and very heavy to eat. It really filled me up well but I hope next time they take it easy on the potatoes so the chicharron stand out more. Friendly staff and owner. I could see the staff preparing the orders from a small window in their kitchen while im ordering, they were nice to spend time to say hello despite how busy they were in preparing the orders. The place is always clean, Parking is plenty around.

Chicken empanada, delicious!

After weeks of telling myself to come, I finally stopped by Sangucheria PSF to grab lunch this week, and WHERE has this been all my life??? (in my SD yelp collection, where it has been for 6 months LOL). Located in a shopping plaza, there is plenty of parking. I came right at opening and there were a few other people going to town on their sandwiches already. The shop has a respectable number of tables and is more spacious than the window display, overcrowded by the liquor store next door, would have you believe. The man at the register was so nice! When he found out it was my first time here, he literally walked me through their whole menu. I opted for the chicharron sandwich, their most popular one, and a chicken empanada. The food came out super fast and the bag that the nice woman from the kitchen handed me was STEAMING hot. First and foremost, I want to bathe in their green sauce. Featuring strong notes of cilantro and pepper, it was absolutely delicious. Their orange sauce was delicious as well. A tad runnier and less spicy. I'm honestly not sure what was in it, but it tasted a bit creamy. The chicken empanada was absolutely fantastic. Piping hot with a delicate crust, the filling was addictive. So soft and well seasoned, and stuffed full of chicken. I could eat 5 of these! Next up the chicharron sandwich. This was a MONSTER of a sandwich, featuring sausage, pork, pickled onion, and yam, served on a sweet, soft, slightly eggy bread. I was pleasantly surprised by the bread. I am used to a hard-crust bread such as that which is used with banh mi, but this softer bread let the crispy onions and hearty filling shine. It was also easier to eat because the toppings didn't slide around, as they were lovingly enveloped by the soft, pillowy bread. The soft yam gave the bread a bit more support, and the sweetness there was great as well. I absolutely drowned my sandwich in the two provided sauces, and savored every bite. I only intended to eat half the sandwich and save the rest for later, but because of the oils and the soft bread, just ate the whole thing because I am not sure if it would last. I was too full to eat for the rest of the day, and for $13 that is honestly great bang for your buck given the quality of the ingredients. It is a bit too rich for me to eat regularly, but it is undoubtedly a delicious sandwich, marvelously executed. I will definitely come back to try their beef empanada, and continue to demolish their delicious chicken empanada with the green sauce as well.

I've been coming to this restaurant for the last few years. The gentlemen in the front is always so welcoming and pleasant. I had never had Peruvian food before visiting Sangucheria the first time. I had ordered the choipapa. I love a good sausage and liked that it came with fries. To be honest the fries are okay, nothing that blows me away, but the chorizo is fantastic. I also love that they give you an array of sauces to try. I recently tried the choripan sandwich and WOW, I am so surprised. The bread was flaky and soft, the chorizo was spiced flavorful, it tasted like a homemade mayo and then the best chimichurri I have ever had. It was garlicky and spicy and just amazing. All the elements of this sandwich worked so well together. I am really not a sandwich person, but I could eat this once a week for the rest of my life and not be tired of it. I also tried the Yucca fries and they were great. It's a nice alternative to regular fries and they were great dipped in the peruvian chili sauce. That sauce is perfect on everything. The service is always great. I love supporting a fantastic family owned shop as much as possible. This is a great spot to stop in and support.

Chicharron sandwich and fries

3.5 stars Came to this small Peruvian sandwich shop after work on a week night. I got the chicharron sandwich fries and lucuma ice cream. The sandwich came with braised pork, yams and pickled onions. The pork was tasty and flavorful. The yams were tender added a slight sweetness and texture. The pickled onions added a nice crunchy texture which was a nice contrast to the tender yams. The bread was light and crisp. It was a good sandwich but I think if they used a smaller bread it would highlight the pork a little more. The sandwich came with 2 sauces which were delicious, I liked the spicy green one. It added a nice heat and flavor. The fries were good but nothing special I wish I tried the house made chips. I'll surely get those next time. After my meal I ordered the Lucuma ice cream. Lucuma is a creamy fruit that has flavors of caramel and custard. The ice cream was a premade Helados product. It was frozen solid so I couldn't eat it there, I had to let it defrost on the way home. It was tasty and had a caramel and almost coffee flavor. I liked the flavor but it was a bit icy from being in a sub zero freezer. I'd suggest it if you've never had Lucuma. There's menus on the back wall behind the counter but not all the items are listed, be sure to look in the case for other items, causa and flan were not listed. Also many of the specials were listed but no description was given of what they were. So unless you know what they are you'd never order them. Maybe list them separately as a meal, appetizer or dessert with a brief description. Service was friendly, they are located off of Santo road in the old Island Style Cafe location. There's lots of parking in the lot that they share with the other businesses.

Cute little fast casual mom and pop shop! The staff member working the counter when I came by (seemed like the owner?) was friendly and explained the menu since it was my first time. CHICHARRON SANDWICH: I ordered this since I wanted to try their most popular item (per Yelp as well as the owner). The meat was juicy and delicious and I loved the sauces! Perfect serving size. EMPANADAS: I ordered one beef and one cheese empanada to go to try later at home. They have some empanadas on display at the counter, but these models aren't representative of the actual empanadas which are way bigger. If you wanted to, you could probably just order 3-4 empanadas as a meal. The cheese empanada was pretty dense, I think I much preferred the beef one. Overall, great place to grab a quick bite to eat. I'll need to come by to try the rest of their menu!

This Peruvian sandwich place is a delicious find in north Tierrasanta by the liquor store. We had the Abado (roast beef) sandwich, tasted the beef and chicken empanadas , and the yucca fries. The owner graciously let us know what the menu is via QRS code, and our friend Yvette said her son made a video review of the restaurant. The bakery windows have cookies, flan, and other goodies. I'll try the beef skewers next visit. Owner was friendly and the server from the kitchen was his wife, I think. Roast beef was sliced, moist; bread soft. The two sauces are a green peppery (spicy) one that my husband loved. The peach cream colored one is less spicy and enhanced the flavor of the beef. They served a small container of chimichurri like condiment with the beef empanada along with a line slice. The chicken empanada had pulled chicken filling. Yucca fries were thick and the right crispiness, also served with the peach cream colored condiment. They have a soda fountain, iced water, and beer for cold drinks and also served espresso, latte, and a double espresso. I was delighted to finally try it! It's clean- a nice place to bring a friend or family. Tables are mainly four tops with around 8 tables. An affordable yummy lunch or dinner. The prices have gone slightly up since they opened. The menu photos are from a year ago.

The Lomo Salado was odd tasting lacking the vinegary taste you would expect and the arroz con Pollo was also oddly made. Chicken pieces thrown on a pile of rice. We had no silverware, and trying to get the owners attention was difficult being that he was overwhelmed with the number of people in the place. My mom is Peruvian so I'm not being biased here. So we took the coast and enjoyed the long way to the restaurant so we could get there at the right time. No issues parking, but we went during a slow time. It's off steet parking, there's not a parking lot, but again we found plenty of spots right in front of the restaurant. They have pretty and colorful decor. Fun lights and beautiful flowering tree coverage. Seating is outdoors so dress accordingly. I knew this because we've enjoyed dining here a few times, so I actually used my little throw blanket. It's causal but some Couples dress up and eat here too. Server was great. He was tentative and nice. I knew I wanted the shrimp causa and my daughter's favorite Peruvian dish is Lomo saltado, so thatd what she ordered. He told us about the specials so we went with trying the baked scallops. I'd asked for 2 and he accidentally brought 4 but immediately realized and without us having to even ask, he offered to take the extra two off. So grateful he caught that. My daughter doesn't like scallops and I just wanted to try them. I like sea scallops but these were bay scallops. I never asked so I shouldn't have assumed. It was a tasty appetizer, talked my daughter into trying it but she wasn't interested to try more. She loves Parmesan cheese and there was a lot but she wouldn't attempt the scallops. They were not under nor over cooked. I'm not sure what made it taste so unique but we both agreed we've never tasted anything like it. The shrimp causa wasnt the same flavor as months months ago. We don't live near so it's been a while since we've tried it. The alioli was a lot spicier than ever but still had good flavor but the causa was dry. But I had a side of alioli to help with that. Shrimp was tasty. Several other restaurants shrimp has been tasting off for months but this place shrimp tasted better. The Inca and chicha were delicious. I miss the cut up apple they use to put in it but still tastes fresh. Lomo Saltado was just two huge potato wedges and very few rice. Look at the photo. We did not eat any of it yet. This is the portion. It had good amount of jugó but the flavor wasnt like anything we'd tasted in Peru. BUT there's many many areas in Peru and we've only lived in a few and have only visited a handful more so just because it's not like any lomo we've tasted, doesn't mean it's not Peruvian. My daughter still liked it. It was high soy sauce and high vinegar taste. Lomo has both, but it was missing the cumin and flame flavor for me. We don't like potato wedges at all but she cut it up and made due with it. We were sooooo hungry from all day at the zoo so we almost finished all of it. None of the dishes are repeats for us but again, they taste good, just not the flavors we are use to, it's been a while so maybe that's why the causa and lomo tasted different. The server asked how is everything, im sure if we had said something he'd probably sought to help, but really it is what it is. I just think they cook differently then what we have had living in Peru. My husband had the seco here time ago, it's was incredibly delicious. He loves lamb. It was cooked perfectly and the frijoles were delicious as well. I hope the decide to put that dish back on the menu. Please. Not every visit is gonna go perfectly, that's not possible. Still a fun colorful restaurant with great service. Plates had great presentation. Not long at all ago I enjoyed the ceviche. I was just too cold to get it this time. Gonna got for it next time. Another couple got a huge salad. It looked so good, imma look for it on the menu next time.

Vibes: Welcome to Liberty Station! A festive area pretty much throughout the week. Whether its a place to eat, partaking in a event, or just hanging out - this is your spot. The area itself is a lively food hall energy with. It's not a sit-down restaurant vibe, but more of a grab-your-food-and-find-a-seat kind of experience. A lot of options around, but this spot holds its own with bold Peruvian flavors. FOOD / DRINKS Pesto (Tallarinines Verde) Chicken (Recommend) Solid dish. Rich portion - huge piece of chicken and good amount of pasta mixed well with that herb-forward pesto sauce (Tallarinines Verde) - with a more creamy + umami-forward than your usual pesto It's a bit of a fusion take compared to traditional Peruvian dishes, but still flavorful and satisfying. Good portion and definitely filling. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and smooth. Slightly sweet with those subtle spice notes (like cinnamon/clove vibes), which makes it a perfect balance to the savory food. A classic Peruvian drink and a must-try if it's your first time. SERVICE Quick and efficient--typical of a market-style setup. You order, grab your food, and go. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, delicious food, and steady vibes. Good spot for casual Peruvian food while exploring Liberty Station. It leans more quick-service + accessible rather than a full sit-down experience, but the flavors still come through. The chicha morada is a must, and the pesto chicken is a solid pick if you want something filling. Best wishes to Chefs - Fredy, Tony, and the rest of the Latin Chef team! I really enjoyed my food and will definitely be back. The Peruvian Spot is located in a small strip mall, 3 shops down from the bustling Homestyle Hawaiian. This is a very family friendly restaurant, with a small children's play area featuring a Peruvian Restaurant mainstay, a large llama figurine. There is a shelf near the front that sells Peruvian snacks and sauces, as well as a cooler with drinks and desserts. The owner and his wife were working and both were super super friendly! I ordered the aji de gallina and also tried a bite of my friend's tallarin a la huancaina. The portions are large and both dishes were scrumptious. I had enough leftovers for a second filling meal the next day. My aji de gallina came with both rice and thick potato slices, we love a double carb moment. Both starches were perfectly cooked and not mushy. The golden stew itself is savory, packed with tender, shredded chicken, and creamy but not too cheesy. It tastes nostalgic, familiar, and homey despite this dish being something I have only had once before. It is super soothing with a slight tingle of spice that swells with each spoonful. I did like mine with a bit more black pepper, but it was very good regardless. The sprinkling of walnuts on top added a good crunch to contrast the very soft dish. The tallarin was perfectly al dente and the sauce was also super rich. It paired fantastically with the steak and sauce that it came with. After we finished eating, we sprung for ice cream. It is

The sandwich is delicious as is but adding that sweet potato.... Ridiculously delicious!!!!! I did a little dance in my chair after each bite. Seriously. Happily went to do my taxes knowing this place was near and I could finally get this sandwich again. Trust. It's not JUST a sandwich, the bread is fresh! Airy and crunchy and great on its own. The chicken in the US just is not good, but these ladies cooked it and shredded it and added Peruvian Mayo (which is better) and yummy tiny crispy potatoes (fries) and it's just oh so good. My husband's cousin makes these sandwiches in Peru and his was best I'd tasted but his bread isnt made in house, and his restaurant is alllllll the way in Peru. Peruvian Spot is right here!!!! Yay! Sad they aren't open on Mondays but every one needs a time off, so understandably. Bummer all the Peruvian restaurants choose Mondays to take off. Anyways seriously I'll come here JUST for the chicken sandwich. Kids got Salchipapas and enjoyed them. Hubby got lomo saltado on tallarines verdes. Not a lot of lomo salado but I tried it and the pasta was yummy on its own. The steak was prepared nicely. Hubby adding a few fries from kids Salchipapas and that made the dish take off. Meaning it was even better. Usually when one gets lomo salado with pasta then fries are omitted so that's normal but trust, ask for a side order of fries and add them. Takes it up a level. Their ice cream is great but they were out. Well makes sense cause it's really delectable. Try it when they have more. Passion fruit drink was yummy. I get the heathy drink, I think it's the barley one. Soooo goooood. I wish I got more for the price, but it's like coffee cup amount. I still get it each time cause it's very tasty. Price point is painful. That's kinda how it is everywhere unfortunately. I noticed menu prices were different on the bill once I got home. Not sure the reasoning. Like a dollar each item. Prices are high everywhere, so if you are gonna pay, get quality items. For me the chicken sandwich is so worth it. Can't do it often, I live far away so that helps with the temptation lol. But yay finished taxes, that's a hurdle so let's celebrate with my craving. Oh and the restaurant is so clean! White n red for Peru! Fun Peruvian decor. Don't leave without popping into the bathroom, I don't take my phone inside bathrooms unless I'm alone, so sorry no photos. But they were intentionally fun in choosing their bathroom decor. Gotta be the BEST Peruvian bathroom easy! They definitely had fun designing their restaurant. And service... they take care of their restaurant and customers. Love the alfajores earrings! So fun!!!!!! Speaking of alfajores, my son got one. I tasted it, yummy. We lived in Acarí so there they make them huge and more flaky. I've yet to find those anywhere. But here they are made the more traditional way. The way I made them. They actually tasted like mine. And I'm picky lol and I approve. I especially like I didn't have to make them lol because it takes time and you gotta work fast when making a lot. I made over 100 for an event for free so I'm burned out. Nice to know where I can get them. Heads up, they are over $3 for one or $9 for 12. Didn't realize that price difference so go for the 12. These ladies seem to enjoy their restaurant and several repeat customers came in. Oh and they have a play area. My kids are older but this place is kid friendly! So bring the whole fam. Well until next Dr visit down this way, I guess I'll have to deal with my craving with patience. Oh as them to half your sandwich. They are huge. I forgot to ask and ate the whole thing lol. Well hubby had a few bites. But I was sooooo full. My own fault. lol. I usually have them half it so I have half then and the other for dinner. So full today I skipped dinner, seriously. So yes it's expensive but think of it as two meals.

Sevilla Valentine's Day Edition:…read more Pardon the delay, amigos! It's been a lengthy week! But I digress! You're here for the deets! Like every boyfriend who wants to show his adoration for his gorgeous girlfriend, I planned this event a few weeks ago. Commitment & dedication are key. Flamenco Show, 3 course dinner for two, AND dancing after?! Yeah, your amigo has it covered! This package is available on their website, and not only on Valentine's. But this day does make it more romantic! A minor 5-10 minute wait as we stepped out of our Uber to the front entrance of the club adjacent to the restaurant. Our lovely hostess greeted us & escorted us downstairs to pick our table. There were no specific table reservations, but all seats are good, as it's a small venue. The Love Gods smiled upon us and granted a table close to the front with an awesome view of the stage. Perfect table for the perfect date! Starters set the tone. What's this? A Welcome Charcuterie Platter?! It appears out of nowhere as our server takes our drink orders. The service here is impeccable! Impressive spread of cheesy, meaty goodness! The Shaved Jamón Serrano Ensalada Sevillana has a wonderfully zesty citrus vinaigrette that makes you clack your castanets! Ole!! Cocktails for the cute couple! A Oaxacan Flower for my Monterrey Mami! My gal loves her some mezcal! I opted for El Matador Margarita, because I know what I want...tequila! Plus the cucumber counts as healthy! I will die on this hill! The Main Course is the star of the show. And in full diva fashion, the Lobster Paella Valenciana stole the spotlight! A masterfully, monstrous mix of meat & seafood, all on top of some bomb-a** Saffron Bomba Rice! There's even a lobster tail in case you're still hungry! Queue the Flamenco show. The two dancers were elegant, the music was powerful, the singer sublime! Enjoy your dinner to a phenomenal 2 part show put on by very talented artists! We got to meet them after the show, as they personally thanked practically every guest! Elegant as their artform! Lest we forget the dessert! The Flourless Chocolate Cake was just the right amount of sweetness to cap off the dinner & show, as we shared our own sweet nothings. Love & Chocolate, a perfect combo, just like my beloved beauty & her humble narrator. As the performers were packing up & saying their final goodbyes, the staff was clearing the space for the last part of our adventure...dancing! A brief 15ish minute wait back outside & back inside we went! Got a great spot up front by the stage, but be aware the only sitting will be done by the VIP section. I believe it's bottle service only, but you can ask. We didn't, as we did not intend to sit at all! We boogied down, baby! The DJ did a great job keeping the vibe alive. Perfect ending to a perfect night. *Caveat - The dinner menu has other options & several a la carte items, if you so choose. Check their website for specific package info. You cannot go wrong. TL:DR - Never give up on love!

The space is small and intimate and I think it would be a nice place for a casual date! We were seated quickly and the server was really great throughout the whole meal and very knowledgeable about the food. I appreciated that he let us know about the specials without us needing to ask. We started off with some drinks. I got a red wine sangria and it was good but I did find it to taste a bit watered down but it wasn't a huge deal! We also got a carne empanada and the flavor was to die for. The beef and onion was so delicious and savory. It was juicy inside but the outside was crispy and dry not soggy at all. The portion size was fairly large as well. We also got the yuca frites. They were good. Crispy but still nice and starchy and filling. Not my favorite dish but only because of personal preference and not because they didn't do it well! Lastly we ended with the pork shank special they had for the night. It was absolutely amazing. The meat just fell off the bone and was so tender. I loved how the mushroom and spinach came with the pork. All of the different parts of the fish came together really well to made it exceptional. It was a hearty and comforting meal and I wish it were on their regular menu! I'm excited to come here again in the future to try more dishes.
