Lomo saltado! Delicioso!!!!

Great service and delicious food. The restaurant is a little hard to see as you drive in but other than that, it was delicious and reasonably priced.

Seco de Carne

Really tasty and good portion.. this is my first time eating Peruvian food.. I will recommend.

Seco de carne.

One of the best seco de carne outside of Peru I have ever had. The beef was tender, the beans were creamy delicious, and the rice was garlicky perfection! Full of flavor, 10 out of 10 would highly recommend!

I had the pleasure of dining at this new establishment within the community. My husband is Peruvian and we are very picky about where we get our Peruvian food at. They didn't have a menu up yet, they're still tinkering with it and getting established. But the food is amazing, absolutely delicious and wholesome! Everything was fresh and portioned well. It will take time for them to have it set up the way they want it to and that's ok, good things take time. I like to focus my reviews on food and service. The service was very spot on and attentive. They didn't have their card reader working just yet but I came prepared with cash because you just never know when a place is just starting out, so glad I did! We started with a ceviche, they used swai as the main fish, it was cut the right size, and tasted very fresh and refreshing for a warmer day. We also ordered a cau cau which is one of my husband's favorite dishes, I didn't try it because it's not my thing to eat that. But my husband enjoyed it very much and said it was tender and tasty. I had the seco de res which was amazing and juicy and oh so tender and those beans were on point! All the right seasonings were ample within these dishes. His aji de rocoto was one of the best I've had here in the States, I've only had it that amazing in Peru. I was very impressed with the food and service. They're just starting out so give them a fair chance it's not a fancy place it's a hueco (hole in the wall), and I see a lot of potential for this establishment. Also, as for drinks they had Inca Cola and jugo de maracuya. It's a small establishment with a lot of heart and it shows in their food. Give them a try even if you've never had Peruvian food, it might be your next favorite food to go and enjoy, I know for me personally it was when I met my husband over 23 years ago, so much that I have learned to cook many dishes over the years for my family.

Aji de Gallina

Amazing food! I havent had peruvian food in so long. I dont know when they opened but they seem new. Its run by a husband and wife and theyre so sweet. The restaurant was clean and well ventilated. I brought my bf here who has never had peruvian food before. Hes very picky too. But he liked everything that we ordered! We ordered Lomo saltado, aji de gallina, 1/4 pollo a la brasa and picarones for dessert. We ordered chica morada as well. Everything was so delicious. The only things I would wish was more meat on the lomo saltado, and have an option for white meat or dark meat for the 1/4 pollo a la brasa. We are definitely coming back for breakfast next time! They have pan con chicharon!! Must try for everyone.

The food was delicious, tasted like something that would come out of my mom or grandma's kitchen. My fiancé got the lomo saltado, I got the seco, and we split a yummy ceviche. Not many Peruvian spots here in SD that are authentic, so to find a place that is true to their roots is truly special. The owners are sweet and very friendly.

This is the most authentic and the most consistently delicious Peruvian food in all the county. Handicap parking, as well as regular parking around back. Street parking in front. This restaurant is nestled in and brings a huge smile to my face. Eli will welcome you like family and feed you like family. Oh how I wish I lived closer. Eli wanna move to Oceanside? : ) Was craving this restaurant's seco de carne. Not only did it not disappoint, it was even better than I remembered! Anytime we are in the area and they are open this is where we eat. I'm so excited they will be open longer hours. I actually schedule my Dr appts on days they are open so I can enjoy lunch here afterwards. It is truly THAT good. Service is efficient and friendly. Super clean! I've seen behind the scenes since I needed to cut through side door because I'm unable to walk inclines. Not the kitchen, the side door break room area. So clean. But you can see in kitchen by register, also so clean! They are so respectful of the Peruvian cuisine. Why mess with the country who gets top culinary awards?! They keep it authentic. Thank you! Took another seco home for my husband and lomo salado for my daughter and arroz con leche for me for dinner snack after my leftover seco. They both devoured their plates. Was hard to not order more items like her causa and ceviche and Yuka, but next time we will. My husband loves the sampler too. It's all great.

So we took the coast and enjoyed the long way to the restaurant so we could get there at the right time. No issues parking, but we went during a slow time. It's off steet parking, there's not a parking lot, but again we found plenty of spots right in front of the restaurant. They have pretty and colorful decor. Fun lights and beautiful flowering tree coverage. Seating is outdoors so dress accordingly. I knew this because we've enjoyed dining here a few times, so I actually used my little throw blanket. It's causal but some Couples dress up and eat here too. Server was great. He was tentative and nice. I knew I wanted the shrimp causa and my daughter's favorite Peruvian dish is Lomo saltado, so thatd what she ordered. He told us about the specials so we went with trying the baked scallops. I'd asked for 2 and he accidentally brought 4 but immediately realized and without us having to even ask, he offered to take the extra two off. So grateful he caught that. My daughter doesn't like scallops and I just wanted to try them. I like sea scallops but these were bay scallops. I never asked so I shouldn't have assumed. It was a tasty appetizer, talked my daughter into trying it but she wasn't interested to try more. She loves Parmesan cheese and there was a lot but she wouldn't attempt the scallops. They were not under nor over cooked. I'm not sure what made it taste so unique but we both agreed we've never tasted anything like it. The shrimp causa wasnt the same flavor as months months ago. We don't live near so it's been a while since we've tried it. The alioli was a lot spicier than ever but still had good flavor but the causa was dry. But I had a side of alioli to help with that. Shrimp was tasty. Several other restaurants shrimp has been tasting off for months but this place shrimp tasted better. The Inca and chicha were delicious. I miss the cut up apple they use to put in it but still tastes fresh. Lomo Saltado was just two huge potato wedges and very few rice. Look at the photo. We did not eat any of it yet. This is the portion. It had good amount of jugó but the flavor wasnt like anything we'd tasted in Peru. BUT there's many many areas in Peru and we've only lived in a few and have only visited a handful more so just because it's not like any lomo we've tasted, doesn't mean it's not Peruvian. My daughter still liked it. It was high soy sauce and high vinegar taste. Lomo has both, but it was missing the cumin and flame flavor for me. We don't like potato wedges at all but she cut it up and made due with it. We were sooooo hungry from all day at the zoo so we almost finished all of it. None of the dishes are repeats for us but again, they taste good, just not the flavors we are use to, it's been a while so maybe that's why the causa and lomo tasted different. The server asked how is everything, im sure if we had said something he'd probably sought to help, but really it is what it is. I just think they cook differently then what we have had living in Peru. My husband had the seco here time ago, it's was incredibly delicious. He loves lamb. It was cooked perfectly and the frijoles were delicious as well. I hope the decide to put that dish back on the menu. Please. Not every visit is gonna go perfectly, that's not possible. Still a fun colorful restaurant with great service. Plates had great presentation. Not long at all ago I enjoyed the ceviche. I was just too cold to get it this time. Gonna got for it next time. Another couple got a huge salad. It looked so good, imma look for it on the menu next time.

AMBIANCE Parking: Liberty Station parking--pretty manageable but can get busy during peak hours. Seating: Shared seating throughout the public market, so it might take a minute to find a table. Vibes: Welcome to Liberty Station! A festive area pretty much throughout the week. Whether its a place to eat, partaking in a event, or just hanging out - this is your spot. The area itself is a lively food hall energy with. It's not a sit-down restaurant vibe, but more of a grab-your-food-and-find-a-seat kind of experience. A lot of options around, but this spot holds its own with bold Peruvian flavors. FOOD / DRINKS Pesto (Tallarinines Verde) Chicken (Recommend) Solid dish. Rich portion - huge piece of chicken and good amount of pasta mixed well with that herb-forward pesto sauce (Tallarinines Verde) - with a more creamy + umami-forward than your usual pesto It's a bit of a fusion take compared to traditional Peruvian dishes, but still flavorful and satisfying. Good portion and definitely filling. Chicha Morada (Recommend) Refreshing and smooth. Slightly sweet with those subtle spice notes (like cinnamon/clove vibes), which makes it a perfect balance to the savory food. A classic Peruvian drink and a must-try if it's your first time. SERVICE Quick and efficient--typical of a market-style setup. You order, grab your food, and go. TL;DR OVERALL 4 Stars. Good selections, delicious food, and steady vibes. Good spot for casual Peruvian food while exploring Liberty Station. It leans more quick-service + accessible rather than a full sit-down experience, but the flavors still come through. The chicha morada is a must, and the pesto chicken is a solid pick if you want something filling. Best wishes to Chefs - Fredy, Tony, and the rest of the Latin Chef team! TIPS * Great option if you want to try Peruvian flavors without committing to a full restaurant

I really enjoyed my food and will definitely be back. The Peruvian Spot is located in a small strip mall, 3 shops down from the bustling Homestyle Hawaiian. As a result, parking was rather difficult but I got lucky and snagged a spot. The shop is spacious and clean, with plenty of seating. This is a very family friendly restaurant, with a small children's play area featuring a Peruvian Restaurant mainstay, a large llama figurine. There is a shelf near the front that sells Peruvian snacks and sauces, as well as a cooler with drinks and desserts. The owner and his wife were working and both were super super friendly! I ordered the aji de gallina and also tried a bite of my friend's tallarin a la huancaina. The portions are large and both dishes were scrumptious. I had enough leftovers for a second filling meal the next day. My aji de gallina came with both rice and thick potato slices, we love a double carb moment. Both starches were perfectly cooked and not mushy. The golden stew itself is savory, packed with tender, shredded chicken, and creamy but not too cheesy. It tastes nostalgic, familiar, and homey despite this dish being something I have only had once before. It is super soothing with a slight tingle of spice that swells with each spoonful. I did like mine with a bit more black pepper, but it was very good regardless. The sprinkling of walnuts on top added a good crunch to contrast the very soft dish. The tallarin was perfectly al dente and the sauce was also super rich. It paired fantastically with the steak and sauce that it came with. After we finished eating, we sprung for ice cream. It is

I know many places have chicken sandwiches, sure, but THIS place has THE chicken sandwich!!!! I highly recommend asking if you can add sweet potato to your chicken sandwich. They did mine for 50¢. The sandwich is delicious as is but adding that sweet potato.... Ridiculously delicious!!!!! I did a little dance in my chair after each bite. Seriously. Happily went to do my taxes knowing this place was near and I could finally get this sandwich again. Trust. It's not JUST a sandwich, the bread is fresh! Airy and crunchy and great on its own. The chicken in the US just is not good, but these ladies cooked it and shredded it and added Peruvian Mayo (which is better) and yummy tiny crispy potatoes (fries) and it's just oh so good. My husband's cousin makes these sandwiches in Peru and his was best I'd tasted but his bread isnt made in house, and his restaurant is alllllll the way in Peru. Peruvian Spot is right here!!!! Yay! Sad they aren't open on Mondays but every one needs a time off, so understandably. Bummer all the Peruvian restaurants choose Mondays to take off. Anyways seriously I'll come here JUST for the chicken sandwich. Kids got Salchipapas and enjoyed them. Hubby got lomo saltado on tallarines verdes. Not a lot of lomo salado but I tried it and the pasta was yummy on its own. The steak was prepared nicely. Hubby adding a few fries from kids Salchipapas and that made the dish take off. Meaning it was even better. Usually when one gets lomo salado with pasta then fries are omitted so that's normal but trust, ask for a side order of fries and add them. Takes it up a level. Their ice cream is great but they were out. Well makes sense cause it's really delectable. Try it when they have more. Passion fruit drink was yummy. I get the heathy drink, I think it's the barley one. Soooo goooood. I wish I got more for the price, but it's like coffee cup amount. I still get it each time cause it's very tasty. Price point is painful. That's kinda how it is everywhere unfortunately. I noticed menu prices were different on the bill once I got home. Not sure the reasoning. Like a dollar each item. Prices are high everywhere, so if you are gonna pay, get quality items. For me the chicken sandwich is so worth it. Can't do it often, I live far away so that helps with the temptation lol. But yay finished taxes, that's a hurdle so let's celebrate with my craving. Oh and the restaurant is so clean! White n red for Peru! Fun Peruvian decor. Don't leave without popping into the bathroom, I don't take my phone inside bathrooms unless I'm alone, so sorry no photos. But they were intentionally fun in choosing their bathroom decor. Gotta be the BEST Peruvian bathroom easy! They definitely had fun designing their restaurant. And service... they take care of their restaurant and customers. Love the alfajores earrings! So fun!!!!!! Speaking of alfajores, my son got one. I tasted it, yummy. We lived in Acarí so there they make them huge and more flaky. I've yet to find those anywhere. But here they are made the more traditional way. The way I made them. They actually tasted like mine. And I'm picky lol and I approve. I especially like I didn't have to make them lol because it takes time and you gotta work fast when making a lot. I made over 100 for an event for free so I'm burned out. Nice to know where I can get them. Heads up, they are over $3 for one or $9 for 12. Didn't realize that price difference so go for the 12. These ladies seem to enjoy their restaurant and several repeat customers came in. Oh and they have a play area. My kids are older but this place is kid friendly! So bring the whole fam. Well until next Dr visit down this way, I guess I'll have to deal with my craving with patience. Oh as them to half your sandwich. They are huge. I forgot to ask and ate the whole thing lol. Well hubby had a few bites. But I was sooooo full. My own fault. lol. I usually have them half it so I have half then and the other for dinner. So full today I skipped dinner, seriously. So yes it's expensive but think of it as two meals.
