Some friends and I met here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. There wasn't a lot of patrons when we arrived. The restaurant is big enough to offer social distancing. They also have outside dining which looked more intimate. The staff were professional and extremely friendly and welcoming throughout our entire stay. Everyone practiced safety measures for COVID. Our waiter was amazing and I forgot his name because he patiently answered all of our menu questions and made suggestions. We lingered at our table after our meal and dessert and no one rushed us to leave as we talked and cackled away. We didn't order appetizers. My two friends ordered the steak and shared a dish of paella which they agreed was good. I ordered the arroz con pollo (rice, chicken&chorizo). Since COVID I stopped eating red meat and pork trying to eat "healthier." However, when I tell you I slaughtered that rice with chicken and chorizo (pork sausage). It was soo delicious and I had enough to take home for dinner. The three of us shared a pitcher of the red sangria which was yummy and just enough for us. For dessert, one of my friends had the tres leche slice and me and my other friend shared the chocolate slice. Honey, I was like I am full and didn't really want any cake. However, we ate every bit of the chocolate slice, It was fresh with just the right of sweetness. We were completely stuffed at this point. LOL We all agreed we would return here and check out some other menu items. Great times and experiences despite COVID! read more

Food is all tasty in reasonable price. We held a gathering of 24 ppl there for Friday dinner. Each person paid $48 including tax and tip. Paella marinara exceeded our expectations full of seafood. The restaurant is 90% occupied. Service is ok, and ambiance is warm and cozy. We will definitely revisit this family friendly restaurant. read more

Wednesday, February 21, 2024, party of 3 for a retirement dinner. We were sat in a very dim lit table near the restrooms and when we asked to be seated in the brighter dining room a staff person behind me snapped and said " IF YOU GO THERE YOU DON'T GET THE SAME MENU " So, we sat at the dimly lit table 2 of us ordered the pre fixe while the celebrant ordered of the regular menu. The lady ordered a Cosmoplitan and a pitcher of Red Sangria. After dinner 2 Long Island Ice Teas were ordered. All of the drinks were just okay. Appetizers: Octopus Calamari Spanish Chorizo Side Salad Entrees: PAELLA with chicken, chorizo, and mixed seafood. Veal Dish with Stringbean. Chicken Dish with rice Desserts: Churros Coconut Tres Leches The desserts were the best things all evening. Food was plated nicely but, was not Hot which probably changed the taste of the food. Service was decent and the place was very clean. We usually come for the Paella outside when they have the street fair which is amazing. read more

Sangria 71 - Strawberry margarita - Spanish Near Me - Williston Park, New York

After the takeout this week i was disappointed.with Sangria 71. Paella Valencia. Was good but def much more oily then i can remember tasted better next day The puplo a la gallega. Was good slightly over done The almejas en salsa good But the Pollo la Sangria a $20 dish was not. I called my order in gave extra time incase they were running behind as most places with take out may i arrived the girl brought my me order i signed the slip. Got home and realized my husbands order was not there the Pollo la Sangria just the side was there. So now i had to call up explain that to whomever i spoke with. So i have to go back and pick it up my husband said just tell them to deliver it i said no ill just go its about 2 miles down the road from my house. I get it bring it home and he was not happy. So upset that he insisted on calling them to tell them. It was completely covered in the sauce and how he put it, inedible and disgusting. He said he took one bite and had to throw it out. (All the times we have ordered food/ate places he eats everything) He spoke with a manager and he explained to them we have dined there before and everything was great trying to do our part in support local businesses and with ordering takeout he was very disappointed in this dish. The Manager took the credit card info in which we paid on and said he would credit us the amount of the dish. That was on Wednesday. It is 2 days later no refund pending to my card. Maybe i will give it a few days. We look forward to going back as my husband told them he hopes maybe it was an off day for Sangria 71. Update jose did call me and help rectify the refund. Thank you for taking care we will see you again! read more

Let's start with the complimentary bread basket and olive oil... that olive oil was so good. Tapas are reasonably priced and taste as if I was back in spain. The octopus and squid here are too die for!! Plates are definitely shareable and filling. My only thing was that we felt a bit rushed because I guess the service was too good? Idk. They kept coming every 2 mins to ask if we were ready to order and then kept trying to clear our table several times when it was clear we weren't finished eating. Other than that, great place and lovely staff. read more

Great lunch combo! I think it was very much worth it. We ordered the Paella Valenciana (seafood + meat) and the Paella Marinera (seafood only) along with a glass of red sangria. I enjoyed my dish although the appetizer garlic soup wasn't great. It was bland. Would recommend to get the salad instead. The complimentary bread was a bit stale but the olive oil garlic sauce made up for it. Also was a great to dipping sauce for the shrimp hehe. For dessert, my bf suggested to try the Chocolate Tres Leches Cake and was very chocolatey. If you have a sweet tooth, get this! Overall a pleasant experience and would come here again. read more

Really the only negative thing I can say about this restaurant based on my experience is that there needs to be better timing and communication regarding reservations. My party and I were on time for our 7:15pm reservation, but we were not seated until closer to 7:40. But... 1) It's Mother's Day weekend, so restaurants are expected to be busier than usual. 2) It is a positive sign that the restaurant is so popular. So I can't really hold this against them. Maybe one should just be advised to set an earlier reservation if it's a holiday weekend. Because even if you have a reservation, there's still a chance you won't be seated until past that reservation time. Very classy interior. Nice lighting. Rather loud though. That's not to say that there's anything bad about it being loud, but definitely something you'll want to know if you're hoping for a quiet atmosphere for dinner. (Literally one of the waiters belted out the end of his "Happy Birthday" serenade 4 times over the course of our stay - loud but entertaining, and the restaurant would applaud him. Kudos to him for his ability to project in the already loud restaurant!) I really loved the honey glazed fried manchego cheese. The honey glaze perfectly complemented the cheese; it was not too sweet. The chicken stuffed with manchego cheese, in lemon sauce, was also delicious! If you're looking for a chicken dish, highly recommend this! Also delicious were the patatas bravas (potato cubes with cheese). Not surprisingly, the dishes with cheese were divine. My friend and I - torn deciding between a warm dessert and a cooler dessert - decided on the soufflé de chocolate. Friend commented that the soufflé could have been a little more moist. Maybe it could have been a teeny bit moister, but it was satisfying nonetheless. Our other 2 friends in the party finished their meal with espresso. I will be back, and looking forward to it! read more

I was actually impressed with the food. The menu has so many options it's overwhelming a bit but I guess better than no options. The service was okay a little bit on the slacking side. The ambiance is old fashion I guess it matched the food. I saw everyone getting lobster maybe I'll try that next time possibly I wasn't wowed so I'm not running back but just okay read more

Fantastic food!! The octopus and calamari (grilled) were so so tender. Lots of seafood on the paella. Service was spot on - friendly and they always were around to clean plates, change plates, refill water and kept refilling our sangria! The peach sangria was so refreshing (our server was totally on point to recommend it). Will be back soon. Went with my sisters but can't wait to take the rest of the family! read more

Came to Sangria 71 on a Wednesday around 4pm. It was nice to be honest & we loved our waiter Misael !! Also it was our fist time here, we were told starting Wednesdays at 6pm they are going to have live music. They were actually setting up as we were leaving. Sorry we missed it. Anyways on to the food... They don't have many or any vegan options really other than the salad I ordered. That was a little disappointing with such a large menu at that. My friend got the lunch special and he loved it ! Pictures and receipt for two. Enjoy !! read more

We had reservations for 5 last night at 6pm to celebrate the first Friday of the year..woohoo! It wasn't busy at that time and we were seated right away. I started with Sangria Sunshine, yep this drink lives up to its name! A cool glass of happiness..so pretty too. It would have been perfect if they added fruit! Chicken empanadas were good, and I also ordered the fried artichokes..yummmeee! Didn't skip dessert this time- Tres Leches Chocolat was divine. The service was good and the prices were reasonable. The establishment adhered to covid precautions, staff was all masked and patrons were good about masking up when they left their table. I do wish the parking situation was better. There was some street parking, and parking on the side streets. If you go around 7 when it's busier, you might have a hard time finding a spot. All in all, it was a good time. read more

Ok so Sangria 71 is one one my favorites to go to. The only thing tonight was I order chicken fettuccine. Not realizing that it was in cognac sauce. So I just mentioned it to the waitress no big deal it was on the menu it was my fault. Then the manager comes up to me with an attitude saying for maybe you should read the menu. Total turn off. The food and the ambiance is just OK. Not impressed, I guess I walked in with high expectations when it comes to tapas and mariscos. The service was OK as well, but I was really turned off when they forgot my coffee and they gave me the check for my family of 9. They brought me the coffee and as I'm about to sip it they handed me a separate bill for it. A small gesture would've gone a long way here. I expected a lot more of this after reading reviews. read more

Dined here on a friday evening. Party of 8. Place a little dim to my liking. Otherwise overall vibe is fine. After reading qute peas's review, we decided to order paella for 4 and 2 churrosco platter as mains. Choosing fries as sides and garlic shrimp as appetizers. Since some people in the group do not drink, we only requested half pitcher of sangria. Service is good. Everyone left feeling full. read more

Reserved outdoor dining. Found ourselves in an insulated tent structure that did not seem to feel outdoor. Noise level, despite not being crowded, was uncomfortable. Graciously moved to an indoor table, higher ceilings etc. Waitstaff fine in all regards. Cocktails as expected...bourbon and martini Fresh bread with olive oil seasoned dipping sauce fine. Gratis salad good, vinegar dominated though. Appetizers: bacon wrapped scallops and fried manchego with honey glaze excellent. Main: Shrimp in garlic sauce... Shrimp very overdone, ate half, did not finish, declined to take home, potato chips on side were fine Twin broiled lobster tails also quite overdone, rice fine Waiter asked if we were enjoying. Told him that both seafood entrées were overdone. He was sorry and will tell Chef. We declined to take home leftover shrimp but took home leftover lobster, which I diced next evening, added to a pasta dish at very end. Crème brûlée excellent. Seems there was a liquor on top of crust that was ignited and burned off. This was an expensive dinner and on hindsight thought the one dessert we shared might have been offered gratis in view of entrees being subpar. Messengered restaurant following day as to experience. Have not heard. read more

Second time eating here. This time, we had a large party of 7. They reserved a nice area in the back, even though it was right outside of the bathrooms, it turned out to have less foot traffic than the other tables. Perfect with great friends and two pitchers of strong sangria. Tapas were delicious, well balanced and went especially well with the sangrias. Favorite tapas were the bacon wrapped dates, the calamari, meatballs and avocado crab tower. We ordered 2 4-person paellas, one seafood and one meat lovers. The seafood paella was massive with the top completely covered with seafood. The meat lovers was a favorite among the men, with plenty of chorizo to flavor the rice. With $65 per person, we were all sated and managed to bring home 4 large, stuffed, 9" takeout containers of paella. The staff was pleasant and entertaining, whom definitely made our pre Thanksgiving gather wonderful. read more

Went there last night for their happy hour. White Sangria was good. My glass of Chardonnay was also very good. Tapas: shrimp in garlic (tasty though small shrimps could have been cooked less); artichokes with aioli was very good; poratos with aioli very good; chorizo was decent . We had the churros with choc sauce for dessert which was good but could use less sugar. Great service. I would return. read more

I'm going to make it simple! I used to be a restaurant manager so I know what is going on here! - Waiter was rude! - He forgot to check on the food order and didn't check our table over an hour! - When the waiter was passing by we can see his face noticing that he forgot about our table. - When asked how are things going. He was very rude and stated we are working on it! - The Food came out with Steak being well-done when he was asked to make it medium! The grill octopus was horrible! - The salmon was bland! - The only thing was good was the sangria. It is not worth it to go to a place where you are not treated well and dealing with a waiter who is happy to be at work and meeting someone new! This place trash! Please yelp tapas places you will find million other places where you will find a great ambiance and amazing team with uncanny foods! Save your money and do not go here! read more

First time here. We went for lunch as they have very good priced specials. There were 4 things I wanted to try and luckily two of my sisters ordered them so I tried 3 out of 4. I had the fettuccine with large shrimp in cognac sauce, very good. This was the best of the four orders. I had lots left over. I was very excited to try the garlic soup but it was a pass. It had a lump of an egg in the center which it took me a while to figure out what it was. The potato chips we're home made but we're just unsalted potato chips. The two other things I wanted to try were the shrimp in garlic sauce which just turned out to be garlic soup with shrimp. Not very good. The garlic chicken also was blah. We had a bread basket which was fine. The birthday girl got a free piece of flan which she enjoyed. No parking lot there but a few blocks away and there is metered parking out front. We made reservation on line but there are a few rooms so I don't think lunch would be a problem. Service was friendly and water refills were plentiful. There were lunch lobster specials that I would order. The room was dark and the seating was a little close. read more

BRING BACK CHICKEN VILLEROY! I have been coming to Sangria 71 for many years since the closing of El Faro in Manhattan. One of my favorite dishes at El Faro was Chicken Villeroy. Upon going to Sangria 71 I was pleased that this dish was offered here as well and it was very good. Since the re-opening of the restaurant after Covid this dish has been removed from the menu at all Sangria 71 locations. I'm sure it was a popular dish so my question is why has it been removed? I call sometimes to see if it is on a special for the evening. When told it was we went to only find out it was not available. We would love this to be returned to the menu. I didn't give 5 stars because my favorite item has been removed from the menu. read more
