The Groupon offer was equivalent to 50% off per adult, plus an internal promo code. That definitely sealed the deal for us. The surrounding area was having some constructions, but the direction to parking lot was clearly marked. I could see this zoo would be designed for local residents, but this was a quality one for taking small children for some good time. The animals appeared to be well taken care off. We dined at their cafe and the food wasn't too expensive. The giftshop was nicely air-conditioned and that was really a treat after a walk/chase with the little ones. My conlusion is that there is no need to travel specifically for "Cosley Zoo" unless you are also visiting other places in the area and happen to stop by. However, our little ones had great fun (no charge on admission for children under 11 year old) and helped us make some wonderful memories as a family.

Such a fun and affordable day trip from Indy!…read more We took a mini weekend getaway from Indianapolis and spent the day at Columbian Park Zoo--what a blast! This little zoo packs in so much charm. Our favorite part? Definitely the petting zoo with the sweetest goats ever. The open garden area where you can see wallabies up close was such a unique touch, and the monkeys kept us entertained with their playful antics. The zoo is clean, well laid out, and incredibly family-friendly. It's a perfect low-cost outing that still feels special. We're already planning to come back when the penguins make their return!

For a few dollars more, you can get food to feed the goats, a train ride around the park, or paddle boats. Feeding the goats was so much fun. I'm not sure what I expected, but you're fully in the pen with about 20 goats and they are going nuts all over you because they want that food. My handful was gone in about half a second. My favorite part was the butterfly exhibit. I walked in and butterflies were just flying all around me. It's decorated like a little garden party. It was almost magical. It's designed with little kids in mind, but it was also fine for our family of three adults. We also pushed my mom in a wheelchair and she could access everything except for the butterfly exhibit.

The highlight was the running train in the middle on top floor as you sit and sip on the hot cider while waiting for our reindeer tour at around noon. Luckily at the time we went we were the only once so we basically got a private tour. Who knew reindeers love graham crackers? It had snowed a couple days before so it was so special to see all the reindeer in the snow. The lovely gal answered a lot of our questions about the farm and the reindeer and my 4 yo daughter really loved feeding and patting the friendly and soft reindeers. It looked like they had a fun playground and an onsite cafe (it was closed) and some other amenities around but they were all covered in snow when we went. The only thing is it would have been nice if they plowed their parking lot after the snow for safety. This was in the same town we were visiting family so it was very close. I thought it was worth the price ($12) and I would recommend this for other families to come check out with their little ones and have a unique experience!

I wish they had some proper drinks like cider or something for the hot days but they just had this smashed pumpkin pie with icecream and a donut on top. It was delicious but a whole lot of sweet assortments I guess. Would love to return and do the maze in moonlight, if not for the horror movies I watched
