Sorry to say, we were greatly disappointed. The course is not in good shape, cart paths are disintegrated, there are weeds and clover everywhere, unkempt flower beds. The driving range baskets were filled with balls that had obviously been found on the course. Dirty AND damaged. The bathroom should literally be condemned. The staff is socially challenged at the very least and rude at the worst. What is in the water here that pp are so unfriendly? They are playing golf on a beautiful day and they appeared angry, definitely not friendly. Perhaps because we were not regulars? Not like any course we've ever been to before. Golfers have always been the friendly sort. So much potential here. Someone who cares needs to buy this course. The potential is amazing. The current offering is a fail.

Unfortunately they double booked our date and I demanded our deposit back. I was flat out lied too by the catering manager Melissa. She then also lied to me about getting my deposition back and the method in which it would occur. The catering manager Melissa then began avoiding my messages and requests for my money back in which I finally had to reach out to the accounting department of the manteno glof club in order to get my deposit back for a mistake made on the establishments end. In the end I was thankful this occurred early on because it truly shows the lack of professionalism this establishment has and we would inevitably had many more issues if we went through with our reception at the Manteno Golf Club. I would warn anyone to stay away from this place unless they have new catering management/event coordinator becuae the one in charge now is a incapable of her job. Now it may sound harsh but I have worked in the service/restaurant business all my life and believe me, this kind of behavior does not happen unless an establishment is going under and hired uneducated staff in order to save a buck. In the end the customer suffers the most so stay away.

The course itself, while short, is tight, tree lined, and requires a disciplined and strategic game. The food is also some of the best in town. The food and beverage manager is, unfortunately, leaving. But as the chef is staying, I imagine the positive trend will continue. Dena is great in organizing events and keeping people abreast as well. The only gripe? There could be more umbrellas out by the pool.
