You should play here even if your wife doesn't force you to use a groupon.

For one thing, all the greens are elevated for proper drainage. Moreover, it's cart path only when wet. So how could this place be a dump? It's one of the harder short courses in the Chicagoland area at about 6600 yards with 131 slope rating and tight fairways. The greens slope downward from top to bottom with decent undulation. The pros: This course makes you think and shape your drives. It is always well manicured and very nice greens. We played when greens were wet and they were faster than most dry greens at other courses. I can only imagine how much faster they are when hot and dry. Most of the greens are in excellent shape with exception to some patchy areas. There is binocular on every cart for distance. The cons: All of the par 5s are on 1st 9 holes and none on 2nd 9 holes. I can't understand why. Some holes are poorly marked so you have to guess the distance if you make a bad shot. The course is a bit short for long hitters but you have to be accurate. I paid $37 in October which is a great price for this caliber of a course. Yes it's far from the city but it's well worth it.

By the way, our group played ever week 32 diff courses in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan. This is now the worst. And, least welcoming.

Fyi, the main picture showing for this business is not actually Deer Creek. After having played a few dozen rounds here, I can say for sure that the picture is not this golf course.

After the owner had a cheap intercom system that no one could hear, the scramble event began. No communication about when/where to get dogs and chili during the round. About 75% of the way through the event they RAN OUT OF CHILI. Manager no where to be found. Asked for a partial refund and was told the "manager" was not there to approve. MANY golfers stated that they will not return. Careless managing...."run manager run"!

Golf Course and Driving Range Review-…read more I wish I could give this place 10 stars - that's how wonderful it is. Driving range is open 7 days a week, $5 for a bucket of balls, about 30 balls. Machine takes cash or you can can get a token at the club house. Grass area, roped off so you don't have new people teeing up 15 feet in front of where they should be. Well kept. The putting area is wonderful and can be found just behind the first tee box. Club house opens at 5:30AM in the summer so there are people hitting balls before work! Golf Pro - Matt - is amazing. Great with kids, gives lessons. The course is a 9 hole, executive course with a level of difficulty that is hard to find in NW Indiana. The course itself is narrow with lots of long marshy areas that will eat your ball. The elevation changes are fantastic and again, really rare for this part of Indiana. The course itself is the most well maintained in the area. 9 holes will cost you about $27 with cart. The ranger on the weekends is Wayne and he is such a wonderful, caring person. In passing, I told him I was looking for a specific type of golf ball and the next time I saw him, he had a bunch for me. Wow! The carts are electric and very smooth. Most of the leagues are during the week and in the AM so this is a great place for twilight golf as well. 9 holes typically takes me about an hour 20. Tips - The range is closed Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning for maintenance. If you are just going to the range, park near the back of the lot.

Course was in terrible shape, greens had bare spots, tee boxes had areas…read morewhere it had no grass, no rangers on the course to keep people moving!! $ some in front of us took forever to hit and nobody was there to get them moving, 5 hour round which was terrible!! Some of the sand traps had no rakes, so they were a mess. Workers were cutting tee boxes, moving tee markers but not putting back, so had no clue here to tee off. Not coming back!!!
