Happily, customer service relented on their policy for that allowing me to return them. However, I then received a gift card unexpectedly rather than a refund. It was explained that this is policy if the item is marked down. Really? I said to customer service I'll chalk it up to caveat emptor but to think that I'd need to read deeply in the returns policy when purchasing clothing online for the holidays to make sure I'm not out over $100 essentially (my wife doesn't like their clothing) is terrible policy. The customer service agent was nice and tried to see what she could do but was told that she didn't have the power to do anything. That's also bad customer service: failing to empower the agents who are the face of the company with the customers.
