I was a little hesitant on choosing a woman's suit to wear for a friends wedding however I am beyond happy I went with it and Sandoval's tailoring knew exactly how to tailor to my liking. I loved the outcome! He definitely knows a modern fit. Before Sandoval, these pants were way too wide from the ankle as well as long. The blazers arms were also trimmed to fit snugger and give a much cleaner look. Will definitely come back for future Tailoring. read more

I was measured and fitted quickly. A few days later my suit was ready to go. Zero rush or fuss.

Excellent work and attention to detail. Raul is great at what he does, and a true artist with clothing and alterations alike. He helped me resize a custom suit that didn't fit anymore, great customer service. He has owned this business for over 15years, and knows his craft well. Would recommend. read more

I found Sandoval's in January 2013 after a search of tailors in Long Beach. I was in desperate need to tailor two suits in time for a conference in Detroit a week later. Even though I needed one of the suits back in a few days, he worked with me to get it done. The result? EXCELLENT quality alterations. I was so impressed with not only the short timeframe but outstanding work. A true professional and very friendly to boot. I was so impressed I've recommended him time and again to people looking for a tailor. This is definitely the place I plan to take all of my alterations from here on out. I moved further away and will still make the trip - so worth it. read more

First time I went to Sandoval's tailoring, I was happy with their service. I had some pants hemmed. They did a great job at a reasonable price. The second time I wanted some patches sewn on my jeans and they wanted a ridiculous price. A few dollars more and I could buy new jeans. I didn't use them that time. Recently, I tried them again. I needed a zipper sewn on my vest. They charged me $60 dollars which I thought was outrageous but my girlfriend had dropped the vest off and I felt it was a done deal. When I went to pick it up my jaw hit the floor. They wanted $60 and they pretty much messed up my vest. I wanted the zipper on the inside so that I can still snap the buttons. This is what I got... read more

Highly recommended. Their work is superb. Price is reasonable and they deliver as promised.

I've been here twice now: 1) tailoring my wedding suit and 2) dry cleaning the same suit and my wife's dress. He took the time to explain the process and I was amazed at how well the finished product turned out for the big day. tailored perfectly! We partied hard, so naturally the suit and dress were extremely dirty. Dry cleaning was on time and returned looking like new. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Raoul is the owner. He is excellent at what he does. Love this place... He fixes the all messups the so-called expert tailors at dry cleaners did to my clothes. Learned the hard way that if you need any done right, need to find an actual Expert such as Raoul. I am now a regular and take in 3-4 pieces every week. Thanks Raoul for your expertise and craftsmanship! read more

I've been here a few times before and I've had the older man, who Im assuming is the father, help me. I had no complaint fair prices reasonable turn around. I also get majority of my clothes especially pants altered and have been doing so since about 2012/2013. Now I get helped by another guy and I got finessed. I paid more than double this time for the same service I've gotten before for half the price. I paid more for a simple alter on Levi's, than I paid for the jeans themselves. At the end of the day we all have to make ends meat so I paid anyways but I won't be returning, I don't like being screwed without consent read more

Came here to get the skirt of my dress hemmed. When I came in to drop it off, he asked if I needed to try it on to make measurements (which is good) But I had already made the mark of where I wanted it shortened prior to coming in. I was getting about 2-3 inches cut, and he quoted me $20. I dropped it off on Monday, and asked for pick up on Thursday. Took a little while for them to find my dress when I came to pick it up on Thursday, but rest assured when they finally found it and it was tailored perfectly. Great and easy service. Thank you for the great job! read more

Great job and fast turnaround on altering a suit!!! Looks like this is my go to place.

My son was visiting us from Santa Cruz, CA. He was informed that his two best friends from High School were killed while in a bike race in Utah. My son needed a black suit quickly and it needed alterations. We found the suit. I called Sandoval Tailoring and they were able to adjust the suit so my son could attend the funeral two days away. We were very grateful. I highly recommend Sandoval Tailoring. Thank you. Maria Hanson read more

I needed an exceptional tailor to mend a jacket that got burned on a room heater. I knew it was going to be a tricky job. Additionally, I needed the interior lining of the sleeves replaced on a different jacket. I used Yelp to find the highest-rated tailor in town. And this might be the guy. They did a beautiful job. And now I know where to go next time. I do recommend taking your mending and tailoring needs to this shop. Best wishes to Sandoval and the team. I assume that there is a Sandoval. Haha! read more

This guy is awesome at his craft - let's state the facts but has such an arrogant attitude! If you don't care about the customer service and just want a great job on your clothes- he's your man! I will need to find someone else because I expect both and yes, I'm willing to pay the price for excellent customer service and a great job! Here's what happened, my husband has taken him clothes over the last year and loved his work! I decided to take my skirt that needed a ton of work. When I walked in, he decided to tell me he would be too expensive and I should take it else where and suggested a cheaper option. Most may think that's really thoughtful. I personally didn't take it that way at all. I didn't care about the price, I went to see him because I knew he was great and wanted him to do it. I wasn't seeking cheaper options. I was never even given a chance to make the decision, he just assumed that this girl was either to cheap or too poor to pay for it. I thanked him for his time and asked him what the price would be as I walked out to the place he suggested. Sad part was, I thought the price he finally decided to quote me was reasonable based on what needed to be done. I just opted not to say anything. Listen, I know small businesses need to run and require them to price accordingly so I get it and I'm happy to pay to keep them here! I just wish he would have not been so quick to assume I wouldn't want to pay. I am torn writing this review because I do think his work is fabulous but disappointed by his approach. I can't give him 5 stars because I was disappointed and walked out with my skirt in hand and I unfortunately, won't be back. read more

This Tailor shop was referred to me by Trumaker. I had purchased a blazer and had lost some weight while in the process. They had Sandoval's on their list. So it was a referral. Parking is parking when it comes to that area. However its right in front. The shop is small and yet it has a sitting area and two dressing rooms. The tailors there are courteous as they greeted me instantly. I had explain why I was there and they understood. They did my fitting and measured it for reference so I can send it back to Trumaker. After that was done I grabbed my jeans from the car and asked him for a hem and taper. Returning a week after the fit of the blazer and the jeans were just right. It was way better than my previous tailor in Cerritos. I am very pleased. A bad tailor can make a $1,000 feel like a $100 suit and a great tailor can make a $100 suit fell like a $1000 suit. read more

Mr. Sandoval is the best tailor in Long Beach. I have been using his services since 1990 when I was still in college and THOUGHT I knew fashion. He has altered dozens of suits, pants, coats and other items during this time. He has also advised me to NOT alter some items that would not fit my shape or style. He is one of the few tailors in the are that makes custom suits as well. We are not talking cheap fabric either, his cloth selections are the best. Keep going to Nordstrom's or Macy's in house "tailor" if you want basic alterations. Make the trek to Mr. Sandoval if you want to step your game up. read more

Mr Jose Sandoval is a master at his art. --Work done: I purchased a suit that fit me decently right off the rack from JCrew several months back. Since my purchase though -- I've lost nearly 20 lbs. So not only was the sleeves of the jacket initially long for me in the first place, the chest and waist were way too loose. So while putting the jacket on in front of the mirror in the shop, he nodded to me and said "this won't be a problem, but what are you looking for additionally?". This question my friends, is where it's important to KNOW what you want! I like my suits very slim, very close to the body. So that's what I told him. He pinched the rear of the jacket in small increments until I told him "there!" -- he pinned it to keep it in place. This goes for the sleeve length as well. We talked about pricing, and told me I could pick it up on Saturday (I dropped it off on a Wednesday). --The Result I'm nothing short of satisfied, and impressed. He helped me put the jacket on in the shop, checked it out in the mirror, and it's exactly what I wanted. When I got home, I double checked the stitching, alignment, buttons, etc. And I couldn't find any wrong. I'll definitely be bringing my suits here from now on. ---Jose Sandoval As a person, he's absolutely delightful. I'm somewhat picky about my tailor -- of course quality of work is important, but so is attitude. I've had my fair share of tailors who gave attitudes about how I'd want a more slimmer alteration to my jackets, but not Mr Sandoval. His prices are reasonable and fair. Go to Sandovals with confidence. read more

Mr. Sandoval is the tailor I use in Long Beach. I have had dozens of items tailored by him and he does good work. His prices are very reasonable, better than most places I have gone. He and his staff do a very professional job. The time it takes to get items tailored varies, but he has done several rush jobs for me, like I need this done today so I can where it tonight -- and he's been great about it. I am an attorney and have every suit I buy tailored. It is important for my clothes to fit right and I count on Mr. Sandoval in this regard. This place is great. read more

If you need your suit tailored, this is the man to see in Long Beach. Sandoval understands what a suit should look like on a man. He has been in the business for over 20 years, and he is very well acquainted with changing styles and trends. I have brought three suits to him, and each one received its own particular adjustments based on his recommendations and approved by me. He was also fast, and very polite. He was also able to fix some damage that one of my suits had sustained, where it appeared that some fraying would shortly result in a hole. Highly recommended. read more

Im a procrastinator, but I get things done... Eventually. So my best friend is getting on saturday, so its thursday and I still havent got my dressed hemmed. Im really short, so its not like I can do tape. Anyways, my plan was to drive to Down town L.A and get done in a few hours at a great price, however laziness got the best of me. I didnt want to drive to L.A& pay $15 bucks for parking, so I looked toward Yelp for a place. So I came in with my dress to ask if they can have my dress ready by the next day, which he said he could, but I guess he is really not used to doing dresses, so luckily for me he recommended going next door. Which I did. The lady next door charged me much less and would have it ready the same day! He could have just told me he wouldnt do it as others have said, but I appreciate the referral. read more

I needed a gown hemmed extremely fast, and they did it in ONE DAY for a very reasonable price! Will definitely be back.

I've never been to a tailor before. I've only purchased 2 suits in my entire life. 7 years ago for prom and a couple of days ago for an interview & wedding. The only tailor I've ever dealt with prior to this point was the individual that was hired within the location of where I bought my suits and T-Swizzle. I opted out of using the aforementioned tailor due to location inconvenience, time constraints and pricing. This was my first experience dealing with a tailor who was a small business owner and I have to say I was impressed. I was blown away by the customer service of the gentleman who took care of me. Not only was he efficient, but he was very thorough and even offered some suggestions on how to save money on alterations. He was incredibly nice and courteous and you could just tell he's good people. The consumer-friendly prices and time it took to complete the work were definitely the cherry on top. I will be coming back if I ever have any other alterations that I need to take care of and best believe I will recommend friends and family. Note: They only accept cash. Parking is a bit scarce (several parking meters up front), so on busy business days it may be difficult to find parking. read more

Awesome tailor, very good quality work and attention to detail. Good price and fast friendly service. Will be back.

Took a bridesmaid dress in, had good ratings. The dress had to be taken in at the top and a hem, he couldn't figure out how to take it the top and added a hook. Looks terrible. Originally wanted to charge me 100$, I negotiated it to 50$, he saw that I was unhappy about the top and kept saying "there was nothing he could do, but to take it somewhere else" Paid 40$ for the hem. Now I have to find a second place to fix the top, never experienced a place where they just gave up. read more
