I've been taking my dogs to Furry Friends for over 10 years…read more Shelties, cockapoo, australian kelp, poodle/terrier mix, shepard mix. Very pleased with the service!

This is my fourth and final time going to furry friends grooming with my shih tzu and Maltese…read more every time I go, they are never groomed as I ask, nor do they have a nice smell they just smell like soap. When I got there today i was met at the front desk by the owner's granddaughter. The owner's granddaughter asked me for my name. I gave it to her. She came back and stated there was nothing on the calendar. For me, then she asked what my pet's names was. I told her she checked again and still I was not on the calendar. She informed me that there was nothing on the books for me and she couldn't see my dogs due to them. Being overbooked, I explained to her that she was the one that wrote down on the card for me to come back today. She totally overlooked that. And she said, well, unfortunately, we're over staff today with over 20 dogs. My grandmother has a shoulder injury and we had a call off and I felt as though instead of giving me all those excuses all she had to do was say, I apologize for the misunderstanding. But I'll be happy to take your dogs and instead it was almost like I was begging her to take them. And she kind of had an attitude of like she was doing me a favor instead of correcting an error that happened on her. And the groomers part, not mine, I felt this was extremely unprofessional, and it was very rude and not very respectful of my time as I do not live close to the place I live almost 30 minutes away, but she totally overlooked that like it didn't matter. And just went too well. If we take them, it's gonna be half the day. I don't know when you would get them back very rude. I was not happy at all with me. Being the customer, it should have just been a little bit more courteous. Even though they have a fair price that they charge for grooming, they are extremely unprofessional. Not to mention the place smells like urine. I also feel as though this place is racist because I was African American. I don't think she treated me as nice as she could have her or the owner very rude and unprofessional. I will never bring my dogs back here again. Please be careful if you are an African American as they will treat differently not to mention you never see the owner so you don't exactly know who is grooming your dogs.

Both of my dogs are long gone now, but I realized that I had forgotten to leave a review for this…read moreplace. They are great. We would always book an extra large suite with patio access allowing the dogs to go in and out of a doggie door all day long and they had plenty of room within the suite and would have some yard/playtime, depending on their temperament. Every suite door has a paper with all the details about your animal and any special dietary restrictions or temperament issues so anybody dealing with your dog knows what's up before they even approach them. Our dogs were always happy when we picked them up.

TLDR: Pros: The staff is awesome; if you have a non-friendly…read morepet; splurge for the patio; great with medication; ongoing communication as needed; double checks preferences/needs at check-in Cons: 11 am checkout Shelton is not dog friendly and loves being outdoors, so I was looking for a place that provided similar comforts of home and lots of interaction. And a place that can handle all his medications. After several failures, I was referred to this location through Shelton's adoption center, One Tail At A Time. He has never been so calm and chill, leaving boarding, too bad I missed a video opp! Typically he is all ball of anxiety, this is also the first time he's gone straight to sleep after arriving home!! Checking in, the staff said, "if you don't hear from us, that is a good thing." I was a bit skeptical, but that was a true statement! They called when something was right with his poop when there was extra medication in his bag and to inquire about his toys. I appreciated the ongoing communication, and judging by the report card, he loved the team. I was side-eying the $88 a day (with a private patio), but it is worth the price (esp if your pet is non-animal friendly). The basic suites are spacious for a short stay.

My son's beautiful service dog was absolutely butchered at Ruff Cuts…read more I spoke with Lauren prior to services and specifically and clearly told her I wanted my dog's hair to be like a Labrador. I wanted her hair to be evened up and all the same length... like a lab's. On average a lab's hair measures 1.5 inches. Lauren said no problem, she will shave it. I said great and I left. I returned to find my dog absolutely butchered. She looked like a lion. Her head was left untouched, as was her tail. Her body was buzzed down to 1/4 inch. As seen in pictures below, her head was not blended at all. I kept my cool. I'm standing there with my autistic son, I'm talking myself down from crying. I paid. I left. My husband immediately brings our dog back to talk to Lauren. Lauren says this haircut was my fault. Lauren maintains that she told me the dog would be "shaved." She says the word "shaved" means crew cut, and I agreed to that. I believe she told me my dog would be shaved to resemble a lab's coat, as I JUST clearly asked for. This would be like going to the salon, asking to have your hair cut to your shoulders, just for the stylist to suggest and perform a crew cut instead. I am so upset, not only by the cut, but by the way this was handled. Lauren refuses to refund my money and says I can speak to the owner when she returns from vacation in a week and a half.
