This is a long awaiting review, I have been going to Sam for approximately 3 years. Sam has been like family to me. His work is amazing, not only that but he isn't scared to be himself and that's the best part. When people come to tattoo shops sometimes they get tunnel vision on a certain idea. Sam will weigh your pros and cons and give you a great opportunity to get the best tattoo. The rest of the staff are great I've gone to Greg before and his work was great. Omg I love my tattoo so much it makes me cry! This tattoo means a lot as it represents my best friend who passed of covid. Her favorite color was purple and I love lavender so this was perfect. This was a piece that had to be fixed because of a botched job. Christine knocked this tattoo out of the park! When she finished I was amazed and loved it so much it made me tear up because this is what I envisioned all along! Honestly the shop is really nice, Greg (our artist) was really nice. I was quoted 125 probably less due to how tiny my sister and my toe tattoos are. When I went to pay Greg wanted $300 I ended up paying $270 which honestly was crazy high. I am a vey generous tipper normally but dang. I have a lot of tattoos and I've never spent that much on such a tiny piece. Unfortunately I won't be back. read more

Love Sanctum. Would say..."period," but that would be a disservice...and not much of a yelp review. Had been contemplating getting some more work done, but had really been lagging and only kinda knew what I kinda wanted and had been, for lack of a better work, uninspired. I reached out to Sanctum a while back after a few colleagues pointed me in their direction; one having been a regular there for many years, and another, who had just gotten work done very recently. Well, cue 2020...and ever since, recent events had occurred that motivated me to "get inspired" and get more of a vision of what I wanted. So with this new motivation, I re-connected with Sanctum and they were totally responsive; and always got back to me and answered any questions I had, and pretty promptly too. Set up an appt with Sam, and sent some images of what i was thinking. On the day we met, we chatted about what I wanted and he showed me some images and what he was envisioning, and we got to work straight away. I was really impressed with Sam's positive vibes, and the vibe in general of the whole studio, as Christine was working on someone else and another guy was too, his name has since slipped past me. The environment was very upbeat, and just put out good energy. Awesome staff here, Sam and Christine are salt of the earth people and really made me feel comfortable and my 4-hour session breezed by like nothin. I've already set up some appts down the line when it will be safe to do so and can't wait to finish up the work that they started!!! Locale / Parking - if you've ever been to the industrial section of Chino/Chino Hills, there are a ton of businesses around, and Sanctum is on the inner section of their lot, so not as easy to find, but there's plenty of parking close enough and once you see the window, you know you're there. read more

I messaged Christine yesterday with a request for an appointment and she immediately accommodated me and got me in with her the next day! Overall tattoo experience: Christine was fantastic. She kept me at ease during the entire session and chatted easily about different things. I was so relaxed I barely felt any pain, sign of an amazing tattoo artist, imo. The shop was clean and tidy, the atmosphere was fun, and the artists were all extremely nice. Charles Ong and Sam Chacon are the artists/owners and are amazing in their own way. Between the two of them, you have all styles covered. I have all my work done by Charles Ong. He's super talented in Neo-Japanese and chicano styles of tattooing. He's versatile and can tattoo any style! He's also an awesome artist and overall great guy. I currently have two sleeves done by him and am always complemented wherever I go. You can check out some of his work here, but if you want quality tattoos, this is definitely the place to go. This review for Joanna is long overdue. Jojo has been my go-to tattoo artist for while now and I recommend her to people every chance I get. Sure, the drive from Hollywood to Chino sucks but its totally worth it (and just under an hour). I've been tattooed by her about 7+ times and I've *never* been unhappy. Her work is impeccable- her IG photos speak for themselves. Nothing has ever healed in a fucked up way. She takes plenty of time in the consult to take in consideration what I want and definitely don't want. I've never felt pressured by her to change anything major about a tattoo I'm looking to get- she's very respectful in that sense. Some artists in the past have been rude or try to belittle me for wanting Harry Potter or Zelda or anything "uncool" as a tattoo but not this homegirl. She keeps it very real. Not to mention she is so cute and funny! The space itself is cool. Everything is kept clean. The artists are always joking around and making fun of each other. I love that clients are not made to feel like burdens in the shop like other tattoo studios I've been to. No one here is too cool for school.
