I wish I could give more than 5 stars. My husband and I booked our wedding in 2019 and had a wedding date set for May of 2020. COVID hit and we tried again for October, but then finally was able to have our wedding in June of 2021. Through all the changes, Savannah, the wedding coordinator made sure that our wedding day was the day in which we had been dreaming of. Savannah was beyond organized and so kind. She is also so patient in answering all of your questions and meeting with you to go over plans. During COVID she worked on re-decorating and updating the lodge so that it looked even better than we could possibly imagine. If you are looking for a beautiful and rustic wedding venue, I would highly recommend this lodge. Also, the lodge booking comes with all the greatest vendors: For our photographer we had James Tang and he is beyond incredible. He is so energetic and goes above and beyond to get the perfect picture. Our DJ was booked through Lakeside DJ with Frank. He was the best DJ we could have asked for. I highly recommend booking with him as well. Also, Fox in the Woods catering's food is to die for. The brisket melts in your mouth and the potatoes are delicious. Tina was beyond sweet and her food is something that you will never forget. For dessert we went with Espie Cakes. If you are able to book with her, order the brownies. They are the best. Finally, our flowers were through Jasmine Rose Flowers. She goes above and beyond to make the ceremony and reception look the way you have dreamed about. read more

Our wedding was two weeks ago, and it was hands down the best day of my life! Casey at the County of San Bernardino worked tirelessly with us to help make our wedding possible even though there were restrictions in place due to COVID-19. The lodge itself was closed and we could not have a reception, but Casey and her staff worked with us to ensure that we could still have a small outdoor ceremony on the lawn with the beautiful pine trees and Lake Gregory in the background. We feel so fortunate to have found the San Moritz Lodge! We wanted a place that was wintry and romantic to fit our Christmas wedding. Ariana and team were so patient and accommodating during what is a very overwhelming and stressful time. They stayed calm and helped make sure we had everything we needed. There was a giant blizzard about a week before our wedding and they kept in touch and reassured us that they had contingency plans should we need them. After our wedding the lodge was sold and is now under new management. San Moritz Lodge was the perfect place for our Christmas Winter Wedding. The lodges rustic beauty and the beautiful decorations put together by Savanah Coble and her crew made the day magical. The Gem City JazzCats Band kept the dance floor filled with their mix of professionally performed dance music. Savanah also helped us choose wonderful local vendors Tina Fox with catering and Katherine from Goodwins Bakery who did the cake.....they are still being raved about by our guests...So many people came up to us during the wedding and after stating that our wedding is the best wedding they've ever been to. I am so glad we picked the San Moritz Lodge as our wedding venue. Everything was absolutely perfect, and our big day was truly magical. San Moritz was actually the first venue we visited, and I instantly fell in love. While my husband and I agreed we needed to at least check out a few other venues, nothing compared to San Moritz. Arianna, who hosted us for a tour and assisted with the planning/execution of our wedding, was spectacular. From the moment we arrived for a tour, she was an incredibly warm host who was happy to help answer every question we had for her. One of the great things about the lodge is that their packages/contracts are extremely transparent. There were no hidden fees or costs, which made making our decision that much easier. San Moritz hosts an event once or twice a year to allow all of the couples to come see the venue fully decorated as it might be for a wedding. This is also when you'll do your tasting, and have the opportunity to meet some of your possible vendors (who are partnered with the venue). This was awesome, and not many (if any?) venues do something similar. It was great to see what the room would feel like full of people, and to taste the food just like it would be served to our guests. I was so grateful they had a day like this available! The planning process with Arianna was extremely smooth. She always replied to our emails, and scheduled several phone calls to follow up on any lengthier questions we may have had. We had already contracted a wedding planner, even though the venue includes one in its packages - but this was not a problem at all! Arianna worked seamlessly with our planner and our other vendors. She made customized accomodations for my husband and I when requested (such as early access to the venue on the day of). She had great recommendations for bar and food packages based on her experiences, too. We seriously could not have planned this wedding without her. I could rave about the staff all day - but you should also know that this venue checks every box a couple might need for the big day. The ceremony site is gorgeous, and there are backup spaces in case of poor weather. There's a beautiful area for the cocktail hour and the main dining hall is so grand that I can only compare it to the great hall in Harry Potter. Every space at this venue had a magical touch to it. Other amazing things we got to enjoy were a separate bride and groom getting-ready suite, full-sized restrooms (which is great when you have 200 guests), a whole decor closet FULL of decor that you can borrow and use on the day of (saving you lots of $$$). The only element you should consider is that (at the time of our wedding) there's not great wifi or cell reception. This was fine with us, as it meant our guests were more present and in the moment enjoying the experience (instead of sitting on their phones). The food was also incredible! There are such a wide variety of choices you can make for your guests that helps make your menu feel unique to you. The food itself is delicious - and doesn't feel like cheap catering food. Having our wedding at San Moritz was easily the best decision we made during planning our wedding. read more

My husband and I were on a day trip to Lake Gregory on Valentine's Day and found out about "Love At The Lakes" event which was going on there. We RSVP right away and we were so happy we did it! It was a great experience! A magnificent view over the lake from a hundred years old lodge. What could be more romantic?! Over the course of nearly 3 years we worked with the lodge to host our daughters wedding. Due to the pandemic the wedding had to be postponed twice but the wait was well worth it. The setting was perfect and the staff was knowledgeable, professional, creative, and incredibly kind. Wedding planning is difficult; even more so when interrupted by a pandemic. Regardless of the obstacles the wedding coordinator and her entire staff managed to organize and deliver the perfect event, on a perfect day, in a most beautiful setting. Picture perfect doesn't even begin to describe this scenic location. This past weekend my best friend and her partner renewed their vows in an outdoor ceremony. The location itself is a perfect blend between serene outdoors and the comfortability of an indoor venue. we went to the Love at the Lake 2019 on Thursday, February 14, 2019. We had a great time - good appetizers, food, great service and atmosphere. The only reason we didn't give a 5-star rating was the choice of drinks. Only a cheap red or white wine and Heineken on tap. I'm not sure if they only have a beer and wine license, but the choices sucked. Hopefully, they do better next time. read more

We dealt with multiple planners. Yet, not one checked on us the entire time. Things were unorganized. The linens were incorrect. I had to remind staff to place flowers down the aisle because guests had arrived to a undecorated event. The wrong song was played during the exit of the bride and groom. There was no CO2 for the start cocktail hour. The venue was so hot that our guests had to stay outside until they brought in swamp coolers. They never announced for 2nds so tons of food was wasted. Everytime someone left a drink to dance or to use the restroom, their drink was dumped by staff. A party crasher came in and started a seen which the groom had to intervene. Not enough great things can be said about this place. My wife and I booked our wedding with San Moritz in 2019. With COVID, we were finally able to get married on 6/12/21 at the lodge, and it was totally worth the wait. For anyone thinking this venue might be for them, I highly suggest you take a trip up the mountain and see it for yourself. The grounds are simply breath taking and the ceremony site has a perfect view of the lake. The lodge is well maintained and full of friendly staff. For the "details" on your wedding, nobody beats Savanah. She is absolutely everything you want on your special day. She is organized and makes sure that everything is exactly how you want it. We were the first "big" wedding after COVID and she rocked it! Our dealings with San Moritz involved a few different owners and hiccups along the way, but Savanah is the one who made it all perfect. She will answer you call at anytime and it always being your best advocate with vendors and everything that goes along with your day. 10/10 would recommend this place to any and all couples looking for a destination within reach for your wedding. If it was possible to leave more stars I would! My husband and I got married there in May! Not only is this place breathtakingly gorgeous for a wedding but the coordinator Nicki is AMAZING! She goes above and beyond to make sure the day goes smooth and the bride has no worries! Our food was delicious and everyone had an amazing time! All the guests complimented on how smoothly everything went and how beautiful the grounds are. I booked Vic originally and they switched it over to a new management! Probably the best decision ever because Nicki is so professional and really cleaned the place up even more! She redecorated the brides area with a beauty bar and pretty decor and my husband was beyond excited about the fact the grooms side had a pool table and a couple other games! She is absolutely amazing and I can not say enough great things about her. She has done great things with the lodge and is the best at handling all the little details for your wedding. I could not have asked for a smoother day. She handled my mother in law trying to change something without my knowledge like a pro and made my day stress free. We had chosen his venue almost two years in advance and had 3 different coordinators we went through ,so when we heard we had a fourth lets just say we weren't happy to begin the process. This venue was absolutely perfect and the wedding coordinator, Nicki, was AMAZING. She went above and beyond- like get poison oak on her legs so we could get the perfect photo in a boat- to make sure everything went smoothly. Technically she was supposed to be just a wedding day coordinator but she met with us multiple times to go over decorating, pie tasting, and to help plan all the other details that go along with having a wedding. I can't say enough about her. The day of our wedding was PERFECT. We had our ceramony outside (which is optional) and at one point there were lady bugs all around us. It was so magical. Our pictures came our stunning because of the surroundings (and because our photographer was epic). We used Nickis photo booth, had a kids corner and we also had a s'mores bar for our guests. The reception went smoothly and our guests had a total blast. We were getting so many texts and phone calls the next few weeks from all our friends and family saying it was the best wedding that they had been to. I just got married in April. The lodge is under new ownership and I was their first wedding. They did such a wonderful job none of by guest believed that this was their first rodeo. During the planning process I was in contact with Spencer who was very professional and always willing to do every thing he could to make my vision come to life. I cant speak highly enough of Vic the my day of coordinator. He must have spent days studying my decor plans and itinerary because by my rehearsal he knew them by heart. The venue is beautiful even if you don't decorate a thing but I had very detailed labor intensive decor plans. I never heard the word "no" it was always "let me se how I can make that happen." Every detail I asked for was done more beautiful and magical then I imagined. I will recommend this venue to every engaged person I encounter. Not only is the town picture perfect, the grounds are manicured with a rustic feel but you also have access to the untouched wild surrounding forest and the beautiful lake views. read more

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! We had a reservation with them for our wedding and they canceled it on us. We had this reservation for almost 3 months and have spent time and money on invites and catering. They did not even have the nerve to tell us they canceled. We accidentally discovered that they are going to sell the Lodge, and when we confronted them they claimed they are not sure if they can honor our reservation. If you book an event here they will lie to you and then sell it out from under you. read more

This venue was previously a little outdated and run by a somewhat flaky coordinator. However, Nicki has taken over and her experience, passion, and attention to detail really show. The place itself is beautiful and the getting ready rooms have recently been remodeled. Prices are quite reasonable for what you're getting and Nicki is very relaxed and accomodating. If you are looking for a feel that is somewhat rustic and cozy while still being classy, this is the place for you. I got nothing but complements about how lovely my wedding turned out. read more

My husband and I got married here on October 10, 2015. It was such a beautiful location in the mountains that we couldn't resist and compared to other mountain weddings it didn't break the bank. We had a very simple wedding with little decor because the beautiful surroundings were enough. Our coordinator Nicki, was so wonderful through the entire process. When we met we hugged and she made us feel so comfortable and never pressured us to make any quick decisions. She responded quickly to emails answering my many questions. On the day of she helped with my dress and fixed the cake when our cake topper fell down the side leaving a chunk out of our cake. I just can't say enough about her, she made our wedding so carefree and perfect and I am so grateful. We love this venue it by far it is the most peaceful, looking and private place there is in our area. Ariana has been so wonderful to work with, I feel at peace in knowing she and her team at San Mortiz will help us make our Daughters and future Son in laws wedding the most blessed joyful memorable event of their lives. In planning for their wedding I can honestly say Ariana has made this part of our planning the best by far, no worries for the main part of the wedding since The Ceremony, Reception, Food, cake and some decorations including linens are covered. We even went with one of their preferred photographers LOA, Nicole is so sweet and in speaking to her she really cares about what services you are looking for and only offers you what you want and does a great job in explaining all her packages. San Mortiz could have covered almost all of the vendor we would need,however we have our own Pastor and DJ if not we differently would have gotten their 2nd package offer and not worry about the flowers, however they also have a vendor for that too. The San Moritz Lodge is owned by the County of San Bernardino and is operated by the California Parks company since Jan 1st, 2014. This lodge has breath taking views of Lake Gregoryand can accomodate groups of over 400 people. The problem is the current California Parks event planner, Vic P. Can be very rude andis a MICRO Manager. If you have certain plans for your event or wedding then please look for something else. He will not differenciate from the norm. Another problem is that this company likes to give false promises so make sure EVERYTHING is in writting in the signed contract. Also what out for Vic's mandatory gratuity! read more
