I would have preferred a new bar of soap to a large bottle of body wash in the shower, but that may be personal preference. -Location, location, location. We walked everywhere in town except one day; there was a car rental place within walking distance & we were able to explore the rest of the island. There is no denying that the Courtyard Suites have a fantastic location! -The owner allowed us to store our luggage in the suite before check-in time as the Clipper arrived very early in the morning. She provided the same courtesy during the day we checked out. This was much appreciated. Cons: -I hardly slept well at all during our 4 night stay here. -There is a trash dumpster right outside the window by the bed. Three of the four mornings, a loud truck came & emptied the dumpster before 7 a.m. It's possible one of the trucks was a fuel truck as well, I was too tired to look out the window. There was no way to sleep through this racket. -We attempted to keep the windows open to allow a breeze at night since there is no AC. The suite has casement windows that swing out, with mini blinds for privacy. Whenever the breeze came through the windows, the blinds would bang against the window frames. Several nights my husband & I couldn't sleep from the blinds banging, & ended up having to be hot with no cross ventilation just to stop the noise. -By the time tax was added & $12/night for my son to sleep on the futon, it ended up being pricier than we expected at $255 per night. Overall I would recommend the Courtyard Suites, especially if you are a heavy sleeper!

The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

It has steps, indoors and out (I found the outdoor steps easier on my bad hip) and it's just a lovely place - nicely decorated and SO clean. Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

The grounds -- consisting of about 4 or 5 separate buildings -- had a lovely chill vibe, lots of greenery around the compound, an indoor pool and sauna and a nice array of separate outdoor seating areas. The separate office/lobby was a large but cozy welcoming space with a fireplace, couches and coffee and a comfy spot to relax in. Also, not gonna lie -- accommodations are upscale Best Western level, which again, I have no problem with, but just so ya know, that's 300 greenbacks in high season. Hey, it's an island, I get it, there's not many options; Just throwing it out there. Our Queen Standard room was on the small side, but the bath/shower was perfectly adequate (if a bit dated), as was the A/C, and the bed and bedding was pretty comfortable. The staff too was awesome, cheery and happy to meet any need. We loved the pool and jacuzzi setup, and there's even a little exercise room in the same building. One thing I could have done without were the 5 or so emails I received before check-in, begging me to complete the online check-in form ahead of time, so I could just go right to the room without needing to stop at the office. Didn't work and I still had to physically check in. So yea, that was a pain. And yet? They still get 4 stars. Our one-night stay may have been expensive but it was very comfortable.

I really appreciated that they had free EV chargers for guests, so we could plug in our car after a long day of driving and riding the ferry, at no additional charge. Spectacular. They are centrally located to everything you might want to do in Friday Harbor, so we only had to take our car once, when we went sightseeing around the island. Otherwise, it just stayed parked because we could walk everywhere, which was really nice. Everyone I interacted with during our stay was pleasant and professional. We had a maintenance issue in our room and they were quick to remedy it. I was a little disappointed that our room did not have some kind of fan to move air and the AC only went down to about 67 degrees and the furniture felt a bit...damp, so that is the reason for the 4 stars. I like my room to be cold, crisp, and clean and the one we stayed in just felt a bit...musty. Also, the local lavender farm is closed and the products are now sourced from Whidbey Island, but that was not disclosed to me until I asked, so I might suggest updating the information in the rooms. I was a bit disappointed we couldn't visit the lavender farm on island because it was permanently closed and so the sign in the bathroom kind of set me up for failure. All in all, it was a mostly pleasant stay and I would return the next time we want to visit Friday Harbor.

Beautiful view of the bay and a nice balcony to sit on for morning coffee and evening wine. The bed was SO comfortable and the sheets and blanket soft. We slept very well with beautiful cool breezes blowing in. The only critique I have is the kitchen was not very well stocked. Normally when we rent a BnB it has basic spices, foil and plastic wrap are usually available. There was nothing to wrap Leftovers in. I know it's a small thing but a few extras like that would be nice in the kitchen. All in all it was a nice place to stay and everything was within walking distance, we would stay here again

We understand that this property is 15 - 20 individually owned condos that are managed together and…read morerented out to travelers like hotel rooms/apartments. We have stayed here a handful of times over the past 10 years and enjoyed the experience. This last visit was incredibly sub par. The room with water view, top floor unit we requested was not available as the owner decided to use it at the last minute. We were switched to a different unit that had multiple problems. There was black mold in the shower, swarms of ants in the bathroom, blood stains on the sheets, cracked areas on the microwave, stains on the carpet, a dishwasher that came out from under the counter when opening the door, bathroom fan that sounds like a jet engine, and a fire alarm that shrieks if you forget to close the bedroom door when taking a shower. The innkeepers (hotel staff) led us to believe that the owners of this suite number 203 were aware of the problems but hadn't gotten around to fixing anything and hopefully they'd take care of things during the off season. The staff said the rooms are serviced after 4 nights (we were there for 5 nights). We did request fresh towels for each day and were assured that would not be a problem, however it didn't happen. On the 4th day when I took a shower, there was no hot water. The black mold in the shower was grossing me out. Then I tried drying off with a damp towel (even though we hung them up the damp weather did not allow towels to dry from one day to the next) and I had ants all over my feet from the dead and live ones on the floor. Becky the housekeeping manager was very helpful and inspected the ant infested area (even after using traps they'd given us) and discovered holes between the baseboard and floor that she caulked and fixed the problem. Becky wanted to resolve our problems and did what she could to help. She was the one person that actively helped the situation and conveyed her concern for the issues. We felt the innkeepers were already aware of the issues but did not feel like they could remedy them, never came to the room to check on anything, and indicated we should accept the room as is. And although they did offer to let us out of our commitment for 5 nights, we could not find other accommodations in Eastsound and did not want to cancel our entire vacation. We are very sad that this property that once made us so happy has fallen so far. We will not stay there again as it seems that the management cannot require owners to properly maintain their units and we'd have no idea if the unit we'd be getting would be in good shape.

It's also really close to the town. The house itself was great!! I loved all the little touches like the tiling in the shower and the decor is so beautiful. It was very clean and it was like they had thought of everything we would need in the kitchen (gotta have that blender to make girls weekend margaritas) The house was really clean and there were plenty of towels for all 6 of us. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking and kayaking in the sound. The whole process of booking, checking in and checking out was so smooth!! Todd sent me a personalized login for their website where I had access to everything I needed including awesome touches like ideas on where to eat and hike. He had a great book put together to walk us through everything we needed to do at the end of the trip. He also checked in with me during the trip to make sure all was going smoothly. Great customer service!! All of the girls loved this place and we will definitely be planning another trip here in the future!

This was singlehandedly the worst Hospitality experience we have ever had and probably ever will. Allow me to preface this review, with the fact we had selected the "PRIVATE ROOM/SUITE", not one of the hostel options with shared kitchen/bathroom spaces. The only positive I have is the convenient location near downtown Friday Harbor. I will start off by saying, our room was very dirty. Dust everywhere, dirt on the floors (my feet were black after walking across the room barefoot), dead bugs and spiders, even garbage under the couch (I'll get back to why I even had to move the couch in the first place). The sheets and blankets appeared to be clean, but I felt pretty uncomfortable about the cleanliness situation so that didn't help. Here's where things start to become dangerously unacceptable. I am laying in bed, trying to sleep (my fiancee is already asleep), when I hear people enter our room. I hear a quiet muffled conversation and they leave. At this point I am questioning my sanity, I get up, open the bedroom door and go over to lock the door (at the time I was 90% sure I locked the door before bed but not positive, and so I chalked it up to someone going to the wrong room and me not locking the door). That being said, my heart was still racing and I was pretty panicked/shocked so I put a couple of chairs in front of the door after I re-locked it, that way I could know for sure if someone was attempting to enter our room. At this point, sleep is not even on my mind. Low and behold, 5 minutes later I hear someone attempting to enter the room. I ask what they think they are doing, and they (bewildered as I was) said they were here to use our shower. The woman was nice, polite and confused. She said she received a code for our space to use our shower. I threw my hands up at this point and let her use our shower. We immediately reached out to Paul he replied, "I'm sorry but if somebody is confused and can't find their room and that happens again please contact me and I will assist them, paul" - first of all, they shouldn't even have our code - we replied "Someone is in the shower right now and someone earlier also entered our room. Please assist now." We followed up with a phone call, he answered and said he would be right there. A couple minutes later, Paul arrives, we let him in and he immediately starts trying to blame the poor confused woman. He leaves with her and shows her where the communal showers are. He comes back to apologize, we ask him if he can change the code, he says it's not possible without removing the lock from the door (total lie, these codes typically are easily changed and should be changed after every guest anyways, this is how people get murdered). He apologizes, says he will offer compensation in the morning and that "you guys will probably be fine, it shouldn't happen again". Nice, very reassuring response Paul! He also left his key in the utility closet with the door open which had keys to every single unit, again, how incredibly dangerous. This guy is not qualified to operate in the hospitality industry and should be barred from operating before someone gets hurt or killed. We ended up barricading our door with the couch, chairs, and desk so that we could feel safe enough to get some sleep as there were no nearby vacancies and our other option was to sleep in the car. A photo of this is attached where allowed, as I am posting this review everywhere I possibly can. Morning comes, no word from Paul. We reach out again at 2:30PM and he finally replies "it has to go through Airbnb so just ask for $100 and I will agree to the refund. Sorry, never happened before, very weird, thanks for your understanding, Paul" Yes that's right he didn't even offer to comp the whole stay. 0/10 stay away unless you seek the thrill of strangers entering your room while you're in bed.
