BUT...it's like Fort Knox due to the fact that the owners will not allow ANYONE but those that are on their approved inhabitants list (no more than 10 and I don't just mean overnight quests - which I would understand). No family members, friends or folks that you may meet on the Island during your stay are allowed to step ONE TOE on their property lest you will have the sheriff physically escort your guests AND yourself off their property at any time without refund (which is in their cheery follow-up email that you receive a few days before your arrival). And they make sure of this by having camera's at the door to monitor your comings and goings and also conveniently park their RV just over the fence to keep you on the up and up. You may say that maybe they've had bad experiences but heck...charge a hefty deposit if that's the case. We asked permission to simply have my brother and his family come for dinner one night and we were promptly denied. So again, it's a great place but if you don't want to be kicked out if you happen to want to have friends or family over for even one evening meal...forget it.

Seagull Nest allows you to experience the beautiful island and outdoors, and to recharge your batteries!! The house is set up with everyone in mind, there are areas for kids to play, quiet places for adults to curl up with a great book and spaces to gather as a family or a group of friends. Great for families, friends or just for yourself. Well furnished with everything you will need. Love the outdoor areas (see pictures) where there is enough space for everyone to relax and enjoy grilling or you can have something catered. You can settle into the lovely hot tub or just sit in rocking chairs on the lanai and enjoy the view and the wild life. Yes, deer just come by throughout the day (see picture). You can definitely enjoy outdoor activities, but there are still many options for those of us that are not into outdoor living. Definitely a house that we will be going back to soon!! Maybe next time for a girls' weekend. Yoga on the lanai and wine by the fireplaces.

The living room was cozy and the internet worked great! I imagine dogs are not allowed get my allergies went crazy and there was white fur on the furniture. I swear the floors had a couple pee spots, I cleaned them. If they had a better cleaner I would go back.

These public coastal access points are one of my favorite amenities in the San Juan Islands. There is plenty of parking available, and the public beach access is about 100 feet wide. Visitors will find driftwood logs, and excellent views of the bay. The beach itself is comprised of large, round pebbles that make it difficult to walk without shoes. But there are many beautiful speckled stones, and twisted and whitewashed pieces of driftwood to look at. This beach is an excellent option for those wanting to steer clear of tourists and crowds.

The Heather Cabin appears to have been built perhaps in the 1930's and retains its vintage charm. The Heather Cabin is very well maintained and has everything you need to be comfortable. The cabin is right on the water and the views are amazing and ever changing between morning, during the day, and at sunset. And you can enjoy the view from the picture window bedroom, from the many windows in the living room, and from vantage points just right outside the Cabin. The resort has been steadily going down hill for years now. The road on the beach has eroded so badly that it seems it will just slip into the sea. Maintenance is just not happening and complaints are blatantly ignored. This once was a wonderful place to stay but sadly it is absolutely not worth the money anymore.
