We couldn't sleep 1st night because how it was and how uncomfortable bedding was. 2nd night, we decided to go back instead of staying here. Overall, not worth $800 for 2 nights. Will not be coming here again.

Some of the best seaside views or sunset on the island are from the beach nearby. However, the cottages are older and you have to put up with some minor issues here and there. That's understandable really but the service can be a bit variable. Their front desk is not always staffed so there is a number to call. And depending on who it is the service can be friendly or gruff. So service gets 3. We have stayed here in different cottages but Screech Owl is my favorite though it's the one that's not on the beachside. I just love the owl decor and the grand spaciousness of the cottage. The hot tub is the best in the Heron cottage as its in a secluded alcove and the sauna is nearby. Eagles Nest is a lovers den as it has one of the best ocean views and is a studio style with hot tub overlooking the ocean - very secluded and perfect for a honeymoon getaway. But for a family outing the Screech Owl has the biggest deck for entertaining and a very spacious - 'oh! I want to bake up a storm' kitchen. The caretakers are now living below it so some may not prefer it but I still like it. The pets are free here and no deposit/housekeeping is charged but they ask you leave it clean. We bring our lab who thinks Orcas is a second home as we come here so often! 4 stars.

It's also really close to the town. The house itself was great!! I loved all the little touches like the tiling in the shower and the decor is so beautiful. It was very clean and it was like they had thought of everything we would need in the kitchen (gotta have that blender to make girls weekend margaritas) The house was really clean and there were plenty of towels for all 6 of us. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking and kayaking in the sound. The whole process of booking, checking in and checking out was so smooth!! Todd sent me a personalized login for their website where I had access to everything I needed including awesome touches like ideas on where to eat and hike. He had a great book put together to walk us through everything we needed to do at the end of the trip. He also checked in with me during the trip to make sure all was going smoothly. Great customer service!! All of the girls loved this place and we will definitely be planning another trip here in the future!

The beds were very comfortable and it was super pet friendly. There is a store nearby that was very friendly and courteous and stocked with a good wine selection. Oh, man. This is a tough review to write. First off, there are so many things I really like about…read morethis hotel. The location is great - close to everything in Friday Harbor but not on a street with as much traffic as some others. The customer service is great - just send them a text and you get a response in seconds. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room interior was good - everything looked clean with plenty of toiletries, cozy robes, and a heated bathroom floor. The bathroom in general was dated. We had a non operational jetted tub that had been converted into a duel faucet rain shower. It was rather weird, but it worked. I also really liked the keyless entry, so no worries about losing your key! Now, my one negative. Our room, and I'm assuming all rooms on this side of the building, abut a loading dock and parking lot for an adjacent grocery store. Every morning at 5am, a semi truck, fork lift, and workers unload the truck. In addition to back up safety alarms, truck engines idling, and workers talking, you also hear the constant rumbling of goods being unloaded. This goes on for HOURS.....starting at 5am. The hotel gives you ear plugs and notes that there is no noise ordinance on the island and notes that neighbors can be noisy and the hotel can't do anything about that. I get it...you can't control noisy patrons or neighbors, but the description given doesn't really convey what is actually going on with this side of the building. Constant, very loud noise and alarms for over two hours starting at 5am. All that said, I would stay here again, but I would make sure any room I book has views of the harbor, and not the back side of the hotel.

Our room was Fidalgo, we had a big soaker tub and kitchen area, I loved having two places to watch tv since sometimes one of you can sleep and the other is enjoying vacation insomnia time. ;) Out back, a walk through a parking lot takes you to King's Market which had everything. We did not find the hotel loud, but they offer earplugs just in case. The mattress was great, seriously- firn enough but with a soft topper or something, we both slept so well.

This is a beautiful quaint little family run oasis on Mitchell Bay. There are hotel style rooms, and private cabins. We stayed in a private cabin on the waterfront for our anniversary this year. The cabins are stunning. Everything was super clean. You have a full kitchen and appliances should you want to cook, even equipped with a BBQ outside! There's a small living space, and the bathroom felt like a luxury spa! The shower had pebbled floorings which were so nice. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable and not to mention pitch black which was amazing for sleep! We slept with all windows open at night and slept great with the cool air and again I can't stress enough how quiet the property is. My favorite part is the windows at the front looking at the water and the little sitting nook by the kitchen. I sat there or in the chairs out front for most of our trip just admiring the water and stillness. So pretty! There's a little greenery area for sitting, play lawn games, or fire pits for smores. They also have kayaks and paddle boards for use during the day which was a nice amenity. They also have a general store and coffee shop on property with everything you might need. My favorite part is their water system that's fully treated and maintained by them. Because of it the shower water is so soft and serene, and the drinking water is amazing straight from the tap! This was a 10/10 stay from top to bottom, and we already can't wait to come back!

Check-in was done at the lobby. At the lobby one will also find a store and a coffee shop. Complimentary movies and games can also be checked out at the lobby to enjoy back at your lodging. The store offers a little bit of everything, from clothing to snacks. Complimentary ice machines are available. Bagged ice can be purchased though. Lower-level parking is limited and was completely full in the evenings. We were lucky enough to get a parking spot every time we returned from playing. Wheel barrel type carts located at the gate make transporting luggage effortless to rooms. Adirondack chairs are scattered about the edge of the property to enjoy sipping a beverage, reading or admiring the view. A fire-pit, community BBQ, picnic area and kids play area help pass the time while on-site. The paly area is at the lobby end for those who do not wish to have quarters near noise. The cabin we were given was number 10, a handicap unit. The very first cabin upon entrance and the furthest from the lobby and play area. Our cabin was clean and well equipped. Snug Harbor provided us the peace that we were seeking at the time. My one suggestion would be to offer fresh baked chocolate chip cookies in the lobby to establish a more personal touch.

The animals were so adorable and friendly. My only con was our initial impression of the room as it did not have a TV. But as our stay went on, we thoroughly enjoyed not having a TV in the room, it allowed us to disconnect more and take in the beauty of the island and surroundings. They do have a family/tv room, but we never felt the need to turn it on. If you are looking for a little peace & quiet, with a great breakfast each morning that is included in your stay, you have to come and stay at the Trumpeter Inn Bed & Breakfast!!

I would have preferred a new bar of soap to a large bottle of body wash in the shower, but that may be personal preference. -Location, location, location. We walked everywhere in town except one day; there was a car rental place within walking distance & we were able to explore the rest of the island. There is no denying that the Courtyard Suites have a fantastic location! -The owner allowed us to store our luggage in the suite before check-in time as the Clipper arrived very early in the morning. She provided the same courtesy during the day we checked out. This was much appreciated. Cons: -I hardly slept well at all during our 4 night stay here. -There is a trash dumpster right outside the window by the bed. Three of the four mornings, a loud truck came & emptied the dumpster before 7 a.m. It's possible one of the trucks was a fuel truck as well, I was too tired to look out the window. There was no way to sleep through this racket. -We attempted to keep the windows open to allow a breeze at night since there is no AC. The suite has casement windows that swing out, with mini blinds for privacy. Whenever the breeze came through the windows, the blinds would bang against the window frames. Several nights my husband & I couldn't sleep from the blinds banging, & ended up having to be hot with no cross ventilation just to stop the noise. -By the time tax was added & $12/night for my son to sleep on the futon, it ended up being pricier than we expected at $255 per night. Overall I would recommend the Courtyard Suites, especially if you are a heavy sleeper!

We had a slight snafu when checking in, the keys weren't in the Dropbox and we weren't able to get ahold of the owner right away. A shop owner next store let us in as she knew the code to the building. Small town, it happens. Honestly, we were relieved that someone was there to let is in! We noticed an ant problem while we were there, and this was late March, a bit early for ants. We didn't leave any food out, and we couldn't find a trail where they were coming in from. They seemed to hang out at the dining table, but nowhere else. We think the restaurant next door may have been the reason for the ants. The bed wasn't very comfortable, it felt like sleeping on a futon but it was a Queen sized bed. The kitchen was functional but very small. We found it more than adequate for a one or two night stay if making food at home. Any longer, you may need more space. Overall, we would recommend it for a weekend stay for a couple. Beautiful location!

This will be my go to place on Orcas from now on. I really enjoyed my stay.
