Stopped by for a quick dinner. Ordered at the front counter. Staff was polite and courteous. Ordered a cheeseburger, fries and a milk shake. The cheeseburger was okay. Nothing to write home about. The fries were soft and greasy- doubt they were totally cooked. The milkshake was full of ice chips. Not exactly sure why you need ice in a milkshake or the ice cream had ice in it. Delicious food, we always get the chicken filet sandwhich it never lets us down. It is pretty pricey though to get a meal Togo for 2 people and no drinks is -25. Also there hours is slim which shocks me. read more

I ordered the corn nuggets which is the only thing I can eat out there now. My husband asked for ranch dressing twice. They sent me a half a container, which is no where near enough. I've been getting disenchanted with them for a while. I'll get corn nuggets in Banner Elk from now on. There's a restaurant opening up across the street from the office, and they will be serving them. I am done with SanDee's, which is sad because I've been eating there for over thirty years. The absolute worst Sub sandwich I've ever had. I ordered the club sub. The meats were horrible. The ham and Turkey tasted canned. There was no bacon on it. The tomato was green. The bread was so soggy with mayo oozing out. And it was microwaved to make it even worse. I might give them another try but will not order or recommend the subs. Oh and I paid over 10 dollars for it. Showed online it was open until 8:00 pm. We were there at 6:16 and they were closed. Businesses should try to keep sites updated as to their current hours. Travelers sometime drive miles to get there and find they are closed. read more

We used to come here 30+ years ago on the way to the mountains on vacation. It was one of the highlights of the trip back then and it still is just as good today. It was clean and the girls at the counter friendly. I got old fashioned burger. Sooooo good! My husband got the ultimate chicken sandwich with hot sauce. The batter was so crispy with delicious flavor. Thanks ya'll for still being here and serving up great food. Anyone passing through should DEFINITELY stop by! read more

Meh. I hate giving bad reviews to small businesses so I've held off hoping things would improve. We've eaten here 3 times over the past year and won't be back. Salad bar wasn't very fresh (wilted lettuce, sub-par veggies), overall restaurant needs a good cleaning, and the staff is ok but not particularly friendly or attentive. The food is standard fast food ... mediocre and greasy. Nothing is great, just ok. After two of our visits, someone in our group got sick immediately afterward so I'm really worried about the food quality and sanitation. Never again. read more

None of the workers seemed to be following CDC guidelines to prevent COVID-19. None of the workers wore masks and there wasn't any hand sanitizer or disinfectant spray present. I could get the sense that the workers were bothered by my presence. I ordered a burger with tater tots. The burger was a bit below average and the tater tots were so crunchy and hard. Sandees is a good Christian friendly place. It has all kinds of foods you'd get at a baseball/ football games. Great food, love to eat here. I use to always order subs. Many different subs to order but my favorite is the pizza burger sub. Lately I've been ordering the soup and salad. The salad bar is great, and the soup is potato which I love. I saw someone said the restaurant wasn't clean but having eat here at least 100 times I respectfully disagree with that statement. The food was pretty good, although the potato soup was amazing ! The salad bar was good except the dressings were horrible. The strangest part about this restaurant is that they serve everything on Styrofoam. The mountains is usually way more eco-friendly than that. I love this little place. They have a great selection on their menu and they are so clean. The service is awesome and the lady that served us last time was so sweet. Unfortunately, they didn't have the Apple sticks a la mode, but she explained that the ones they had were discontinued and they had yet to find ones that they liked enough to serve, which I really appreciate. The chocolate dip cone was delectable. For my meal, I had the pot roast which was so tender and tasty with a side of corn nuggets that were the best I've ever had.
