Dr. Tran - Hard Skills…read moreSeemed knowledgeable and did everything I thought a doctor should do. Appeared to take a scientific, evidence based approach. Listened to my description of the issue, inspected by sight and touch, told me potential causes, prescribed an x-ray in order to gather more information and narrow the potential causes, prescribed medication to help with pain/inflammation, discussed next steps and long-term steps, discussed rehab/strengthening options. Soft Skills Great communication and explanation. Was patient with me and took time to answer my questions and make sure I understood. Nice, courteous, and respectful. Office - Staff was nice, helpful, and organized. There were some data entry issues with misspelling my name, email, etc. but it was cleared up. My recommendation is to push patients to the online system and have the patient enter their information, this could be beforehand or while in the office. Facility - I believe this was building 2. There was plenty of parking in front and the facility was nice. Wait Time I was moved to the back room on time. It took a little while to see the Dr, but that is normal for most Dr's. I'm sure I caused the Dr to run behind schedule for their next patient so I can't fault the Dr. Plus do you really want a Dr that rushes from patient to patient just to be timely? I don't. I would rather a Dr give quality time and service with each patient even if that means I have to wait a bit. I can always stream a movie on my phone while I wait. Billing - So far so good. No issues.

I scheduled the appointment for March 6th originally @ 2:30 PM. Mind you, I was shocked that I could schedule an appointment so quickly for just a couple of days out. But when I received a call from the office stating that although 2:30 PM wasn't an available time slot and I needed to change my appointment time to 1:15 PM on the same day without a confirmation, I knew something was a bit off. I went with it. That same person advised me that they would send me a link either via email or text to fill out the patient forms prior to my appointment, but I never received either. I drove to the location and was immediately flabbergasted with the lack of English text on the glass exterior to direct patients to the receptionist area. I literally had to ask if I was at the right location (not that English should be the default, but translations from Arabic would be nice for non speakers). I asked the first person I saw if I was at the right location, and once she confirmed I was supposed to be there, I advised her that I had an appointment @ 1:15 PM, and I gave her my name. She asked me for my drivers' license and my insurance card & I was prompted to have a seat. In about 5 min, the same young lady I spoke with walked up to me (in front of several other guests around) and said, " Sir, I don't have you on the list for today..." I was so shocked that she misgendered me to my face and acted as if there was no need for any privacy - as if she were entitled to tell me and announce loudly who she thought I was! I stated that I'm not a sir (since my drivers' license has an F), but she stated I needed to speak up since she couldn't hear me. (Conveniently, in front of others, which could jeopardize my safety. She was now standing right in front of me and the other patients!) She was obviously trying to embarrass me. I simply asked her if she would like to hear the phone call I'd had with the person that rescheduled me at 1:15 PM on March 6th, but she said that she had me on the schedule for March 10th. Once again, I offered to play her the recording of my conversation, according to which I was scheduled for March 6th, but she stated that she did not have me in the system for today. So I just asked her to cancel any appointments and told her I would go somewhere else. Awesome Care Clinic is listed as LGBT friendly on the following site: {https://www.pride214.com/gay-friendly-doctors}. This is indeed a lie! If you are a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, please don't bother utilizing this location as a resource, as you may be putting your safety at risk! (Audio available upon request)

There was plenty of free parking available in the vicinity, but the spaces directly in front of the building will most likely be taken. There were two women checking patients in as they entered the waiting room. They were both friendly and professional (no hiding behind their computer and glass door directing you to a clipboard like in other places). I had done the electronic checkin online the day before, so I didn't have to fill out any paperwork. They simply scanned my driver's license and medical card since I was a new patient. After that, I was free to sit down and wait to be called. The waiting room is large with lots of chairs and a bench for those who might not fit a chair. There were two televisions that people could watch to pass the time. However, I didn't have to wait long. My name was called within a minute of sitting down. The assistant brought me to the back area where she took my weight and height before moving me into an exam room. Once there, my blood pressure was taken and she reviewed my medical history. She encouraged me to get my flu vaccination and pneumonia vaccination and offered to give both of them to me at that moment. I loved that they took action right away! My nurse practitioner showed up soon afterwards. She did not seem overly happy to be there. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if this was her usual modus operandi (MO). This was a bit off putting for our first meeting, but despite her lack of enthusiasm, she performed her job well. She reviewed my medical and went through the litany of preventative procedures to make sure that I had done everything (pap smear, colonoscopy, mammogram, etc.) She was also ready to perform the pap smear if I had needed it. Thankfully since I had had one last year and the new recommendation is to do it every 3 years, I was able to skip it this time. She did a physical exam checking my eyes, ears, mouth, breathing, etc. She gave me paperwork, a urinalysis cup, and directed me to the lab on site where I could do my bloodwork. The phlebotomists were busy processing patients. They worked quickly, and I was seen within 10 minutes. She engaged me in conversation to take my mind off of the needle. She had no problem finding my vein immediately. Whew! What a relief that she was very skilled at her job. I was invited to sit in the lab waiting room where I could drink bottle water provided in the mini fridge. I needed this in order to complete that urinalysis test. The staff were all very patient, helpful , and professional. Other patients were quite friendly and chatted with one another in the lab waiting room. I love that this medical facility uses the Epic MyChart app for sharing medical records and storing them in a hub that is easy to access. I was able to get some of my lab results the same day and others came in the very next day through the MyChart app. Overall, I had a great first experience with this new medical team. When I called to schedule an appointment, they answered the phone and were able to get me in the very next day, despite being a new patient. They seemed to be very proactive and focused on preventative care. They use technology to stay organized and to communicate with the patients and the medical care team. They have a lab on site and can perform tests quickly. I'm really happy with the care I have received so far and look forward to using them for my future health care needs.

I could rewrite the same review for every visit I've had with her. She has a way of making you feel like a trusted friend whose well-being is her top priority. Each appointment with her is warm, efficient, compassionate, and remarkably attentive. From the moment she walked into the room, she made me feel like I was her only concern for the entire day. Her bedside manner is exceptional--warm, caring, and genuine. She took the time to truly listen to my concerns, not just rush through symptoms or diagnoses. It's rare to find a provider who values listening as much as giving medical advice, but she does both beautifully. What stood out most was how thorough and efficient she was. She asked about all aspects of my health, not just the physical symptoms that brought me in, but also my mental well-being and any other challenges I might be facing. She clearly cares about the whole picture, treating me as a complete individual rather than just a set of symptoms. I was also impressed that she had reviewed my medical records from other specialists before even stepping into the room. Being up to date with my past visits and current care plan made the appointment feel seamless, personalized, and truly collaborative. She is the kind of doctor who makes you feel safe, heard, respected, and supported. Her compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail are unmatched. Providers like her are rare, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have her as part of my healthcare team. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a knowledgeable, caring, and truly exceptional doctor. Thanks for being a Wonderfull caregiver Dr. Kwon. S. Copenhaver

Dr. Kwon has a lovely personality, but the two of us are both talkers. No more requested followups, stick to business. She types away during the whole visit, and you get coded for everything. My $25 copay turned into a $300 bill for a 20 minute simple visit. She asked me questions and instigated the tangents. Congrats Dr. Kwon for your excellent upcoding skills and the bonus you are in line for. When you visit, stick to topic or she will stick you for the bill.
