Then realized the negative reviews are all some form of displeasure with the "concierge/membership/subscription" type model of the practice. Guess I would be disappointed, too, if I was unaware of that and my expectations were not met. Totally get that this model may not be for everyone but I'm grateful I'm allowed to have a choice. Is Dr. Ross Pirkle worth the modest additional cost? My Answer: Yes Yes and...Yes. Cost: This may be dated but i believe the cost is around $800/year or $79/month in addition to what specific insurance coverage you have. What are the additional benefits for that cost? There are objective and subjective answers. The objective items are described on Cornerstone Primary Care's website. The subjective differences, in my case, are overwhelmingly compelling and have allowed me access to the highest levels of proficiency, human decency and efficacy in my medical care I think is possible. Living in the SF Bay Area, we are blessed with access to some of the best medical care in the world. We have insurance that can cover millions in medical cost if required and hopefully it won't be required. Your primary care doctor is the front end to this remarkable and vast resource. Your primary care doctor is the one you see the most, that gets to know you, that is responsible for your entire wellbeing from top to bottom. Because of my medical challenges, for me not to spend a few additional dollars to get access to a premium primary care doctor would be like putting a bus driver in a formula one car and hoping for the best. I don't know the status of Dr Pirkle accepting new patients but I believe if you're at a point in life where medical care is more of a priority (like me), you owe it to yourself to inquire. I strongly feel you will find it well worth it.

I'm a veteran of many hand surgeries and as I age my hands are acting up and cantankerous and apparently shy at times. He did spend a good deal of time explaining things to me which I greatly appreciated. He offered some cortisone injections but after just having a left shoulder Shingrix vaccine which hurt like heck, I wasn't in the mood for any needles. He did seem just a bit touchy when I explained to him that I had just read an article about cortisone injections actually causing arthritis. He did take the time to explain to me that it is well-known that cortisone injections in the joint can negatively affect the cartilage but that isn't the case when your tendons are injected. He also was careful to explain the need for referrals or consultations with other specialists. So that's a lot for a busy MD.

I refused both times, showing that my entire arm, including my shoulder, were visible. He had scans which clearly reflect my injury, so there was no reason for my shirt to be off. He did a range of motion test on me and when I told him to stop because it hurt, he pushed my arm further. I told him to stop repeatedly and he continued hurting me. He was not taking notes at any point while he was adjusting my arm and hurting me. When I told him that I had limited feeling and a colder sensation in the affected arm, he told me that he had never heard of those symptoms and insinuated that I made them up. He therein stated, unprovoked, that my arm was not blue and I responded that I never told him my arm was blue. He asked if I had a dislocated shoulder and when I told him I didn't know, he told me I couldn't have a dislocated shoulder. The line of questioning/statements were incongruous to the conversation and were alarming. He was hostile throughout the appointment and made me extremely uncomfortable to the point that I had to tell him that I felt uncomfortable and needed to leave. I feared that this has happened to other patients and when I arrived home, I checked online, and was affirmed in my fears that he has. This is not a person who should be performing any type of exam on any person. I reported him to the medical board. This person should not be in a position where he is "treating" vulnerable people.
