The review is strictly about the service. My first appointment was virtual, with the nurse…read morepractitioner. She advanced me to have a colonoscooy and endoscopy after discussing symptoms triggered from GERD. I'd been coughing non-stop for 7 months at that point. Colonoscopy and endoscopy findings for apparently normal. No explanation as to why my cough was going on and they advised me to see an ENT. ENT rerouted me back to Gastro. It was after I called back three months later saying the number of meds I'm on is not helping in my cough is getting worse this suggested a thoracic specialist. I don't understand why this was not recommended after my endoscopy and I had to wait 3 months for this. Comparing my experience with the gastroenterologist who is now in the process of evaluating what's going on with my esophagus, I would compare this particular business to that of an Alleyway style medical office where they are very readily eager to prescribe you a bunch of drugs that you cannot get at pharmacies and expensive procedures without any kind of substantial follow-up. The nurse practitioner was late to both my virtual appointments. In fact I had to call the office to confirm she was even still coming. I would say go here if you want a routine endoscopy or colonoscopy but if you have anything specific take your business elsewhere. Dr. Tsai with Bass is amazing.

When he gets there he reminded the staff he had to wait in pain for two weeks before he could see the doctor and he would appreciate keeping the appointment but understands if he is unable to, he just wants a referral to a specialist. They said "fine, the doctor isn't sure if he will see you", but took him back and the nurses took his vitals. A nurse came in and said his next appointment came in early, "so Dr. Lam said he might just see him instead." Well, my husband waited another 15 minutes waiting for Dr. Lam or a nurse to come back. Nothing. After 40 minutes (from vitals to waiting time) my husband had to leave for work. He would have much rather them said they couldn't honor the appointment because my husband didn't show up on time. How rude.

Dr. Varon and another wonderful doc named Dr.Dimitrikus kept very careful watch during my six days in the hospital. Dr. Varon was there making rounds sometimes as late as midnight, even 2:00 AM, checking on my tummy. He has warmed empathetic bedside manner. The most compassionate doctor I have ever seen in my 40 years of battling this disease. And instead of rushing to surgery (which my first Crohn's docs did), he went for total "bowel rest" meaning no food by mouth until he was sure all the bad stuff was out. Then he put me on a liquid diet. Followed by natural healing foods. I LOVE HIM!! Besides his passion and compassion/empathy, he recommended easy to digest foods that would help me avoid another flareup--yogurt probiotic drinks, chicken broth and some antioxidants that I had never heard of and they are all working beautifully. He really knows how to combine traditional Western medicine with natural healing. I feel at least 80% better since I was released from hospital a month ago. Thank you Dr. Varon and may you live long and prosper. We need more caring doctors and surgeons like you.

I had been to a doctor who "thought" he knew how to heal leaky gut, but it continued to get worse over 10+ years until my IBS and leaky gut sent me to the ER. At that point I started going to a Naturalpath, as it was obvious I was not on the right path. She ran many many tests at a lot of $$ since neither she, nor the tests, were covered by insurance. The tests gave me a lot of great information and I was able to continue with the supplements she had recommended. It helped immensely that one tests identified 5 major food sentivities and removing them from my diet help alot. But a couple years after that, my gut got really bad again and I was always in pain, exhausted and sick. I had 4 friend who had been seeing Dr Varon and at their recommendation I finally made an appointment with him. His healing protocol for my leaky gut, the cause of my belly pain works. It isn't cheap, but it is way cheaper than getting cancer and digestive cancers run very strongly on both sides of my family. Again I am feeling much better and evey time I have another followup with Dr Varon he makes a change in my morning shake which makes my feel a little better still. The only thing I can figure on why he has so many bad reviews are due to preconceived expectations. Just because another doctor, or your own research shows other supplements may help, they are not generally part of a full protocol for healing. If you see him, are open to what he says, respect his knowledge and ask questions at the end of your appointment you will find healing without big pharma and a wonderful doctor. If you just want surgery and/or pharmaceuticals, he is not the doctor for you. It's obvious in our society that many people don't want to do the work, they just want a quick fix that doesn't inconvenience them, but that doesn't generate health

I'm a veteran of many hand surgeries and as I age my hands are acting up and cantankerous and apparently shy at times. He did spend a good deal of time explaining things to me which I greatly appreciated. He offered some cortisone injections but after just having a left shoulder Shingrix vaccine which hurt like heck, I wasn't in the mood for any needles. He did seem just a bit touchy when I explained to him that I had just read an article about cortisone injections actually causing arthritis. He did take the time to explain to me that it is well-known that cortisone injections in the joint can negatively affect the cartilage but that isn't the case when your tendons are injected. He also was careful to explain the need for referrals or consultations with other specialists. So that's a lot for a busy MD.

I refused both times, showing that my entire arm, including my shoulder, were visible. He had scans which clearly reflect my injury, so there was no reason for my shirt to be off. He did a range of motion test on me and when I told him to stop because it hurt, he pushed my arm further. I told him to stop repeatedly and he continued hurting me. He was not taking notes at any point while he was adjusting my arm and hurting me. When I told him that I had limited feeling and a colder sensation in the affected arm, he told me that he had never heard of those symptoms and insinuated that I made them up. He therein stated, unprovoked, that my arm was not blue and I responded that I never told him my arm was blue. He asked if I had a dislocated shoulder and when I told him I didn't know, he told me I couldn't have a dislocated shoulder. The line of questioning/statements were incongruous to the conversation and were alarming. He was hostile throughout the appointment and made me extremely uncomfortable to the point that I had to tell him that I felt uncomfortable and needed to leave. I feared that this has happened to other patients and when I arrived home, I checked online, and was affirmed in my fears that he has. This is not a person who should be performing any type of exam on any person. I reported him to the medical board. This person should not be in a position where he is "treating" vulnerable people.
