We have had a great experience so far with Sam and SAT tutoring. My student has improved in her test taking skills and is is poised to do well on her upcoming SAT exam. Some things we like about working with Sam: The lessons and homework is highly customized based on our student's current skills and goals. Sam provides feedback following each tutoring session regarding how she is doing and where her challenges are. In the session he provides her with skills and strategies to work through those challenges. He is well versed on many subjects (not just SAT!) and encourages my daughter to bring any school questions to him, too. Payment and booking is all very easy, as is rescheduling when needed. Sam always provides his availability and if the times don't work with us he is willing to discuss further so we can find a time to make it work. We've had such a wonderful experience working with Sam. He is reliable, dependable, and incredibly responsive, qualities that matter so much when you're trusting someone with your child's academic growth. I completely trust him with my son and the work they're doing together. The progress has been remarkable. In his most recent modules, my son scored perfectly on the English section and missed only one question on math, a big improvement from previous sessions where he missed three and five questions. It's clear the one-on-one sessions are paying off. We are so grateful for the individualized attention and are excited to see how his SAT score reflects this progress at the end of March. Highly recommend! read more

Sam was fantastic in helping our son with only about a month to prep for the SAT. They met weekly and Sam provided in person sessions as well as practice material. Sam has been tutoring my son in Calculus AB. He has made scheduling sessions very easy and is very thorough. Sam asks his students to send sample problems before sessions in order to tailor his lessons to fit their needs. After each session, Sam sends a detailed message on what they worked on together. My son has expressed that after his sessions with Sam, he understands the "why" when solving a problem instead of just plugging in a formula to compute. My wife, daughter and I are extremely happy and thankful for Sam's tutoring services. My daughter was having a rough time with 11th grade honors precalculus. Do to Covid within our family, she missed a couple weeks of school, and missed assignments and tests. The backlog of work and frustration of trying to play catch-up while keeping her head afloat on the new stuff was mind numbing for my daughter. She was trying her best but it was completely overwhelming -- and her grade suffered in the process dipping as low as D minus. Enter Sam. I found him right here on Yelp and was impressed by his bio and the positive reviews. I called him immediately and we set up a schedule to help turn things around. Over zoom, Sam worked with my daughter and got my daughter back on track. He helped her with the backlog of makeup assignments, plus prepared her for new assignments. Though his hard work, patience, and expertise, Sam helped my daughter go from a near F in the class to a solid B. That B helped my daughter's GPA stay above 4.0 -- something so important for college. AND there is no doubt in my mind that if it wasn't so late in the semester and if we had more time, Sam would have helped my daughter get an A. No question about it, he's that good. Sam's communication via text regarding scheduling, payment and recaps of the sessions was top notch. We were in the loop at all times. I'm glad other Yelp reviews made us decide on using Sam. You'd be smart to do the same. Thanks Sam, see you for 12th grade. read more
