Our family has 4 kids of different ages and unique areas of need. They are ages 14, 12, 10 and 5. Sam tutors them as a group for 2 hours at a time and does a fantastic job answering questions from all four kids. No time is wasted as he easily goes from question to question, subject to subject. My high school aged daughter has benefitted from tips on studying Spanish, World History, and getting a head start on the math topics she anticipates to complete in future math courses. Sam has also taken the time to look ahead at her 4 years of high school and given her advice on how to approach her summer months and to begin SAT Prep. He does a great job breaking down math concepts in ways that help the kids to better understand and remember. Sam reviews the subject matter for my middle schooler studying pre-algebra in ways my husband and I could not. He helps her think about how she should prepare for tests and quizzes. We appreciate the way Sam helps our middle-schooler create a study schedule to make sure she is better prepared for the tests. He works closely with the elementary school 4th grader as well. He jumps in easily answering questions regarding her math homework, language arts assignments and even got her looking ahead at concepts she will be learning next year. She is receiving a preview of multiplying and dividing by fractions, and working through word problems. Occasionally, the kids make careless mistakes in doing their math, and Sam is encouraging yet very matter of fact in the way he corrects them. He points out a better approach and has the kids practice until they understand how to do it consistently. Once regular homework is finished and checked, Sam uses the rest of the time making sure they are previewing upcoming work. Our 5 year old received grade appropriate recommendations from Sam on material he could use to begin math practice. It is great to have work to challenge him and to keep him growing. The two hours pass by quickly. So grateful to have Sam's expert tutoring help. Appreciate the wide breadth of knowledge he has and his rapport with each of the kids. Sam came highly recommended from a friend that had multiple children in a wide age range. Sam has been a godsend to my son. He started his first year of high school and was struggling with Algebra 2 honors with abysmal grades, despite his best efforts. Sam has only been tutoring me for about month and I have learned so much in that short time. My grades have skyrocketed and he has taught me lots of nifty tricks to use in math and chemistry that have helped me so much. Sam has been providing SAT tutoring to our son who is a junior in high school. He also tutors him in math and chemistry when needed for school. He can help with anything.
